I had just my husband and I in the room when DS was born. My mother was heartbroken as not only did I not allow her in the room, but I didn't call her until quite a few hours later.

When I got pregnant my mother and father were going through a divorce as my mother had an affair and wanted to be with the other man. Our relationship was severely strained up until this past year actually. Now she is working hard on building her relationship with both me and my son and I feel like I have my mom back.

I want to invite her for the birth of this baby in a special way, but unfortunately I am not very creative. Any help ladies?

I'd send her a cute card and put "another birth soon to be, so will you be in the room with me?" And maybe throw in flowers haha

I think you should wait until last minute. I think that will make it such a special moment for her. Kind of like "it's time to have a baby. I would like you with us" moment. And, just in case you have a change of heart there won't be any hurt feelings.

Also having a strained relationship, I second waiting. Who knows where your relationship will be 7 months from now.
