The news keeps claiming it is under $3 - but all I see in metro Atlanta is ~3.39 still. We can get 2.89 outside the perimeter though.
It was also ~2.89 in Orlando when we were there last weekend.
Dang, are you way down inside the middle of the city? It's been below $3 out here in the 'burbs for a few weeks. But I don't venture "ITP" too often so I have no idea what gas is like downtown!
Paid $2.85 in charlotte and $2.48 over the border in SC.
NC taxes on gas suck balls.
Yeah holy crap! NE is so small we regularly cross state lines for dinner/shopping and the only place we AVOID buying gas is when we go to CT to see my family. If I can just make it to the first rest stop on the Mass Pike it saves like 30cents.

I was just about to respond LIES!!! to you. I hate hate hate when people call 'metro Atlanta' all the surrounding suburbs that takes like 30+ min to get to. THAT IS NOT METRO ATLANTA TO ME (not yelling at you - just the convention). But yes, we are right in midtown.
I remember being 14 and gas was under a dollar. Filled up the moped super cheap.
My grandpa used to keep a diary and I looked through a few of the pages. He always noted a change in gas prices. 15 cents/gallon sounds like heaven when it costs me around $70 to fill my SUV.
I remember being 18 and going to college and gas was $.99. Ah those were the days!!!
Gas prices have been steadily dropping around here and it made me wonder how we compare! What are you paying and where(ish)?
Lowest I've seen is $2.89 in metro Boston.
@Irishcurls - WTF, really? In my section of the burbs I have yet to pay under $3.00. I think $3.09 is the best I've seen.
@kkleigh10 it literally just keeps dropping! Sometimes the Cumberland Farms on our corner is 2-3 cents cheaper on my commute home than it was in the morning!! It's insane! Even gas on Route 1 is under $3!

Yeah, the higher prices make sense for being right in midtown then. I know, I am in the Norcross area and work in Duluth, and even getting into Buckhead is "sooo far" for me 8-| I'll fight tooth and nail to argue 'Atlanta' (and surrounding areas) has the worst traffic in the country.
We're in Europe so we pay by the liter. The price converts to a little over $7/gallon. Luckily we have a train station within walking distance of our house.
$3.19 is the best I've seen in Cali so far. When I was a freshman in college right before sept 11th I remember it was $0.89 a gallon at the Valero next to campus. Crazy.
I think the lowest I saw yesterday on my way home was $2.75/gallon. I'm in Eastern Iowa. I just do the regular unleaded. The super unleaded/E85 is even cheaper here.
I paid $3.40 yesterday for mid grade in the Northern California valley suburbs. Our prices are always slightly higher, good ol california gas taxes. So excited for the next gas tax that is supposed to go into effect at the beginning of the year. They are saying it's another .10-.20 more per gallon. Greaaaaaat.
Between $3.04 and $3.10 in Northern Nevada, though I can't speak for the Reno Sparks area. Tahoe is paying about $3.19 - $3.29 now, which is just over the hill for us.
Depends... but the closer to the inner city the cheaper. Ive seen a variation of $2.84-3.15 for regular in the last week.
