A little AW moment on behalf of my DH. He's getting his MSW and is completing his final internship this semester and next and will graduate in May. He works at the same clinic as I do and is also doing his internship here. He's seeing his first client right now (for counseling, not just case management) and bless his heart he's SO nervous. I know he'll do great but I can also empathize because I was totally a nervous wreck for my first client too! It just makes me so proud of him! We only moved to the US less than 6 years ago (he'd spent his whole life in the Dominican Republic) and is about to complete his masters degree in his second language. He's such a hard worker and it's so satisfying to see him so close to reaching this goal!
I'll be sending good thoughts for our new J15 mom and baby! Shit's getting real!
Also, I brought two pieces of halloween candy that I had planned to eat as little treats later in the afternoon, they're both gone already...
Our dog destroyed her bed while she was inside during the rain yesterday, so she got to sleep on our bed last night. She apparently likes my snoogle, because every time I got up to pee I'd come back to a dog in my spot. She's getting a new bed after work today.
I'm in the process of taking it right now- first hour done, one more hour to go! They gave me a lemon-lime flavored drink and oh my goodness, it was awful. It was really warm, which I think made it much worse than it need to be (it said right on the bottle to "refrigerate to make more palatable"). I came so close to throwing up a few times but I didn't. Yay! I haven't eaten since last night at 8:30 and it's 11:30 right now. I'm so excited to eat something when I leave!
I'm thinking it's time to bite the bullet and put DS in undies. He knows how to potty, he knows when to potty, he just doesn't want to. I think I'm going to bribe him with new jake undies
This is me exactly with DS2. He's ready, but I'm not. I know I won't want to do it after DD arrives, so I'm not sure why I'm procrastinating now.
My randoms: I quit drinking any and all caffeine when I was pregnant with DS1 (so 4+ yr ago), and haven't really had any since. Recently, I've been craving a French vanilla cappuccino like none other, so I stopped and got one after my appointment today. It was divine! (I still got decaf because I'm slightly scared of what caffeine would do to me now--I had a few sips of coffee last summer, and it made me shaky for like 2 hrs, haha!).
I also got a doughnut.....which I blame on you all.
My mom's birthday is tomorrow, and we're all going out to Olive Garden for dinner to celebrate. I'm a little bit more excited than I should be for the deliciousness.
Apparently all of my random thoughts have to do with food today.....
That's disgusting! They should totally refrigerate it. I've always wondered if it would be better to drink it in the 5 minutes and then puke or if that would void it and I'd have to do it again. It makes me feel sick too
@honeybeee3 Blech, having to drink that warm is awful! With DD they didn't have one refrigerated and I had to drink it warm. This time they had some chilled and it still wasn't good, but made it much better. Good luck on your last hour!
I heard the phone ring when I was in the bathroom a little while ago. I knew I had no hope of answering in time and I could hear a message being recorded on the answering machine. I was SO scared that I would come out and push the button to hear a message from OB's office telling me I had failed the GTT yesterday. Phew, it was just Xfinity giving us directions for an upgrade!
Is it selfish of me wishing these mama's would come update us on the birth of their babies!? Probably. I know they are super busy, and I can only imagine the feeling of having a preemie of what that must be like.
I still want to know though. ... Even though I trust when someone here says they are doing OK.
I dropped my 4 runner off yesterday for some recalls and was given a Sienna to dive around since we are looking into getting a new car. We are only interested in Sienna and sequoia, and I'm not too sure how I really feel about driving a van. It's nice and all. ... But I got my 4 runner back today and it's good to be back.
I don't think I can part with it. I love it so much! It's paid off, but it's only a 5 seater and we are about to be a family of 6. Sequoias are so damn expensive! I may look into a new 4runner with 3rd row seating. Ugh. Really don't want another car payment. #randomthoughts
I'm terrified of needles.... And I was so nervous going to my Monday appt because I knew it was shot day. I had to lay down to get my shots. My nurse was slapping my arm to wake my nerves up and I didn't even feel the flu shot. I was worried about my TDaP because Everyone here says how bad it hurts.... thankfully mine wasn't bad. It stung a little bit, but nothing major. I'm a little tender in the spot.... But only notice it if I touch my arm in that spot.
I'm looking forward to ds3 nap time. I want more pumpkin pie, but don't feel like sharing! I was looking forward to watching Jessa Duggar episode of getting engaged, and eating pie, but I forgot to set record on my dvr! I've got nothing to watch now!
I'm gonna try and muster up some energy to make a few freezer meals today for my crock pot! I'm so excited! I'm only doing a test run, these will be meals we eat next week. I just want to see how well they freeze before I stock my freezer!
DH is mopey today, for some reason, and I can't do anything about it.
My back is killing me these days. I've gained all my weight in my belly, pretty much, and I gained weight a lot more rapidly this month. Little Man is hanging from my back and it's not fun. Makes sleep hard, too, so I'm exhausted today.
I'm at work and in need of getting things done, but I really just want to be shopping for baby stuff and reading a book on the couch with the puppy.
Finally done with the test. Yay! I want to eat ALL the things! I want a big bucket full of chow mien. Or a burrito. Or 500 donuts. Ahhhh I can't decide!
@saiven I love steamed broccoli but that doesn't sound appetizing at all right now. Ewww!
My workmates are amazing; my whole department showed up for the shower. We got a convertible car seat and the crib mattress from everyone among other items (bottles, toys, sheets, feeding things), and my friend went out of her way to get me the diaper bag I wanted and a baby bouncer as a surprise. My boss was very amused by the butt paste; he didn't realize it was a diaper rash cream! I think the cake mixed with the mac n cheese I just had woke wigglet up.. he hasn't stopped wiggling!
That's soooo awesome!

That reminds me that we had a work shower for a coworker a few weeks ago. After the shower, one guy (a non-native English speaker) asked, "What do you do at a 'baby shower'? Did you wash the baby?" Everyone was confused until we thought about how the word "shower" could be misunderstood. The mom-to-be was like, "How could we wash it if it's still inside me?"
One of my really close friends is pregnant and due right around the same time as me(mid jan). I just found out that she is in the hospital and is currently being transported to a hospital with a better, more equipped NICU. So it's looking like her baby may come sooner than expected. So if you all could send out some good juju to her and her LO that would be awesome!

I looooove our van. We have an Odyssey. Automatic sliding doors are awesome, and we can fit just about anything in it! It has a lot more room than a Sequoia in the trunk.

@honeybeee3 - oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. Will keep her and baby in my thoughts.

@LaBellaVida, is there any reason why you've ruled out the Highlander? I have one and really like it. It has 7 seats and a third row, but the third row isn't quite as comfy as the Sequoia or Sienna probably.

I want baby updates too!!!!!

We have an Odyssey as well, and looooove it! I never thought I'd like being a minivan mom, but I totally do!
The highlanders are smaller then I'd like to be honest. Even though the 3rd row seat is nice, I need plenty of cargo room too and I just don't see it working out.
The Sienna is nice, don't get me wrong, I'm just unsure of it. I wish I could have it for a week and actually use it for errands and stuff.
I'd like to do the same with a sequoia, just to get a good feel for both of them.
I haven't seen or test drove the sequoia, yet.
I just really really love my 4 runner. I may check into a new one and compare them.

Re: Wednesday Randoms!
@SheHulk723 I agree, adding a note about what you got with the gift card is nice IMO.
How was the GTT? Have you taken it yet?
Sounds like you could just get her a snoogle and she'd be set!

Legit jealous! That sounds delicious! I want Olive Garden and a French vanilla cappuccino...I need one I think. To survive
