2. Anything new on the medical front (doctor appointments, nonstress tests, ultrasounds) this week?
I had an NST on Sunday at L&D. They had nothing to say. Have to wait til Wednesday for my BPP with new MFM, endocrine visit and OB appt. should be a super fun day
3. How are you feeling in general?
Achy. It's getting difficult to be on my feet more than a few hours. As a nurse (and a person) that blows.
4. Any issues with your numbers, meds, or food intake?
Still haven't figured out fasting issues. Insulin is now up to 14U before bed. This morning was the first reading under 90 in a while (85). We will see what tomorrow brings. My post meal #s are almost always great. I'm just on insulin before bed and watching sugar intake.
GTKY: Do you plan to incorporate some of your GD diet food or eating schedule into your life after you have the baby and you're no longer GD?
Honestly, not really. The major changes I've made are limiting carbs, and sugar. I never really ate much of either anyway. So i would like to go back to my occasional sweet treat or bread w dinner. I hate fake sugar and feel like it does more harm anyway.
Question: Are you ladies planning on going full-term and letting the baby decide when it's ready to come, or getting induced? Because I have GD, as well as low papp-a, I do not plan on going past my due date. I am considering a 39 week induction. My OB said that they no longer induce for GD alone (she said in the past they used to) but that these days, nothing is done differently. I am hoping that she comes naturally around 39 weeks or so, but don't want to be too optimistic about that. Just curious what other GD ladies are planning on doing.
How far along are you? 34 weeks today
Anything new in the medical front? Just a general vist with my OB Wednesday.
How are you feeling in general? Pretty good in general. The usual 3T aches, pains and fatigue
Any issues with number, meds, food? Number good this past week and this weekend I did not have any out of range. Hoping for the doctor to have me wait two weeks one last time before going weekly anyway.
GTKY: Do you plan incorrporate GD after having baby and no longer GD? Most definetly. I will not be as hard core and precise about my carbs. I do not like to statistics of those who have GD and end up with diabetes later in life. This whole thing has been a wake up call to me. Diabetes is very rampant in my family and being overweight I need to change/wake up call.

1. How far along are you?
34 weeks 5 days
2. Anything new on the medical front (doctor appointments, nonstress tests, ultrasounds) this week?
Had a growth scan. He passed with flying colors weighs about 5 pounds and 12 oz. And scored an 8/8 for the bpp. Ob and np are impressed with my numbers and i have my biweekly nst next tuesday.
3. How are you feeling in general?
Pretty good. I am super tired and hungry all the time. It makes spacing out meals for testing a little diffucult. Therehas been no talk of induction or anything except that if i went into labor now they would not stop it.
4. Any issues with your numbers, meds, or food intake?
Had 2 numbers over 120 all others where under. She actually asked if i was eating enough. Just gave her this look like i eat everything within reason.
GTKY: Do you plan to incorporate some of your GD diet food or eating schedule into your life after you have the baby and you're no longer GD?
I will be i feel better since im getting more quality food.
2. Anything new on the medical front (doctor appointments, nonstress tests, ultrasounds) this week? BPP today. Baby is doing well. Just big. Measuring 4 (yikes!!) weeks ahead. And it's breech. The baby has changed positions every week for the past three weeks. The doctor is concerned that it is quickly running out of run to flip. I'm trying to remain optimistic. A c-section was never on my radar so I should probably prepare myself for that possibility.
3. How are you feeling in general? Still feeling good but have a sore lower back at times. Typical 3rd tri stuff.
4. Any issues with your numbers, meds, or food intake? Numbers have been good. Even sneaking Halloween candy at meals and getting good numbers. Score.
GTKY: Do you plan to incorporate some of your GD diet food or eating schedule into your life after you have the baby and you're no longer GD? After my first, the biggest thing I took away from the diet was balancing carbs with protein. Both at meals and snacks. I can't even let my toddler eat mac and cheese without adding chicken, beef, or salmon for protein. Just like last time, I'll probably go back to eating cereal for breakfast:)

2. Anything new on the medical front (doctor appointments, nonstress tests, ultrasounds) this week?
nothing this week. Dr. Visit last week was good. Just measuring a little big.
3. How are you feeling in general?
Just tired mainly. Getting backaches while at work since I walk and stand around a lot. Just need to remember to take breaks.
4. Any issues with your numbers, meds, or food intake?
One number one point high after a baby shower. Still spilling some ketones. Trying to stop that without screwing my numbers.

I did this diet for a while before. So I will keep most of it in the rotation since I know how to make it and it tastes good. However, I will add in a slice of pizza!! I miss pizza!
OB and endocrine appointments this afternoon. I took the NST on Sunday, so we'll look at those results as well. This seems very serious all of the sudden with so many appointments. sheesh.
Wow! My EDD is 12-25. And baby was in the 72 percentile for growth. So, we haven't really discussed early induction yet. While I don't want early induction interventions, I get the need. And I'd be ok, truthfully, with not having a 12lb baby...

Can you remind me what one hour numbers should be under?
After 2 hrs
No new appointment news. Just my regular visit coming up next week and an ultrasound. I've had my first issue with numbers the past two days after breakfast. Realty high at 1 hour, but below 120 after two hours. I havent been strict on the diet at all, And all my numbers have been well under range, so not sure about the spike this week. All my numbers for the remainder of my day are below 120 and fasting is normally 76-82. So maybe just need to watch the carbs at breakfast?!
I don't plan on following the diet after, I normally watch what I eat and I feel like this diet is making me crazy!
Next NST is on Tuesday. I am hoping and praying it goes better.

I had my appointment with my new OB today, and we set an induction date of November 26, the day before Thanksgiving. With me being type II she wants to err on the side of 38 weeks (especially with me being AMA). My main concern with a 38w1d induction was lung development, but she said they're finding that the lungs of babies born to type II moms tend to mature sooner than normal or GD moms. So, she said it shouldn't be a concern.
This means I'll have a baby in 2 1/2 weeks and can eat actual desserts for TG!
