Wednesday randoms

Either I'm getting the hang of being up through out the night or my body is sleeping better when I actually sleep. I was so happy DS only woke up twice and nursed both times rather than making me resort to the bottle.

Who was it that had mentioned a specific brand of gripe water that worked well? LO has been miserable with gas the last couple nights. My little remedies drops and gripe water don't seem to be giving him relief.

  • @swayda Hylands gas drops work great. And they are organic. But it wasn't me that mentioned a brand before.

  • Last night we changed our comforter because I leaked breast milk all over it. 20 mins later LO spit up all over the replacement comforter. Like a lot. Must invest in more comforters.

  • @FamousEa‌ @BreandMikewedding‌ how are you feeling 2 weeks out of surgery. I was doing great until Monday now I'm in amore pain than I was while in the hospital. I'm still taking my pain meds which is unheard of for me. I usually stop 3 days after surgery at the most ( I have had 5 abdominal hernia repairs and one other c/s)

  • I always hide to eat chocolate. If I don't hide, the kids will want some and this mom doesn't share chocolate.

Um...my boy's poop was like yellowy brown and snotty...?

I know that "mucousy" poop can be an indicator of a dairy intolerance in baby. Not sure that's what your seeing but perhaps keep an eye on it & talk with your pedi if it continues.

The baby is done eating. I'd like to go to the bathroom and then go back to bed. But she is watching me out of the corner of her eye. Do go to the bathroom with a baby on my lap? Do put her in the RnP and hope she doesn't scream? Decisions.

Actually I think the decision is being made. I have to poop. Cannot wait.

I have pooped whilst holding LO and it is weird. Even if she cries in the RNP for a couple of minutes she'll be okay!
I can't go if she's screaming. I need tranquility. Also when will my bowels be back to normal? This is awful. I'm never ever constipated. Since the surgery? Always constipated. I used to poop like clockwork every morning before my run. Took 1 minute, tops.

  • I put DD down on her kick and play piano mat and its the cutest thing to watch her limbs just flailing away. She's also been staring at the TV the whole time. And I'm watching Californication on Netflix. Mother of the year?

    @MrsSinner402‌

S loves watching the lights on the TV! when I'm burping him in the living room he will either turn his head to side eye me or the other way to stare at the lights from the TV. He will find the tv no matter where he is in the room. he's seen a lot of Christmas movies the past 2 weeks!!!! ;)

I figure they can't see that far yet anyway, so all he's seeing is light.

  • I have a silly question. I've observed some accidental smile flickers from LO when she is passing gas or falling asleep and it's so hilarious to me. When do babies typically begin smiling at you for real?! My friend said 6 weeks but that seems late!

6-8 weeks is normal from what I remember.

  • Our 2 year old washer broke Sunday night. On the bright side, the company will fix it for free even though it's out of warrenty. But the part won't be here until later this week and the repair guy is scheduled out to next Wednesday. By then I will be drowning in laundry and Lo will be out if clothes.

Splurge on laundry drop off service....I did this twice when our dryer broke, and it was heaven. If I were rich, I would permanently pay someone to do my laundry!

  • Guess we are going to see MIL, since it will probably be the last time we see her, I may not be able to hold my tongue as I have done for the last 9 years.

H wants to get it over with as soon as possible, so possibly the week before Thanksgiving. :(

Forgive me if this came up before, but what happened?

  • I don't think I have PPD but I am definitely ridiculously anxious. I was this way with DD too. Even when DS is sleeping, I'm anxious about when he's going to wake up again. So exhausting and I get annoyed with myself.

  • My baby hates to lat flat (not reflux related ) and I'm sad for him bc in a few weeks I won't be able to hold him all day. Working on laying in the pnp and I hate seeing him cry.
  • Okay so another poop question. After DS1 it hurt a tiny bit to go but just until my stitches were all healed. So just outside pain, really, and it wasn't that bad. This time, if I have to go at all I just feel achey and crampy inside and it hurts so bad to push (pardon the TMI). But the pain is all inside and really uncomfortable... Is that normal? I feel super dumb asking this...
Well, I'm in a different boat, but I'm still not able to go well. It hurt to push to pee OR poop for a while (because of the catheter, I really had to concentrate on peeing). Dr. Google says that's normal for C Section ladies because our insides aren't back to where they need to be yet, but it also felt like I was trying to pee through a contraction, so maybe that's it? I had one or two really bad times of trying to pee. I almost just gave up. I was gripping the wall, it was so painful.

I was a csection but I had the same feeling, I assumed it was because I was backed up. I took Colace and drank prune juice and even then it still hurt but once it was out I felt better
I'm STILL having difficulty. I'm on the maximum dosage of Colace, drinking prune juice, taking something to help me go (Mylax or something), and eating Metamucil cookies. I hope this isn't the new normal.

I am finding that I get anxious if I take a late afternoon nap with the baby. So weird, but I think it will fade as our confidence grows. Or at least I'm hoping it will?
Me too. I wake up panicked about nothing.
  • @geetargirl05‌ the good thing is they don't seem to be rushing you!
