I have a formal event to attend in December that requires a gown. I know the look I want to go with. I can't decide if I should purchase a dress, or spend that same amount of money to rent one of a much higher quality. Anyone care to talk me into a decision?
I like the neckline on the one you'd buy better. I'd probably buy anyways. I can't tell the difference looking at them which is more expensive, so I'd like to keep it.
One of my fb friends posted a Question, asking whether or not people use spanking as a disciplinary tactic, and if not, what do they do instead (she is writing a paper for a class). I'm very opposed to spanking, but can generally operate under the 'my kid, my way, your kid, your way' mindset. The ridiculousness of some people's responses though..... It's just..... I can't.....
'Yes, we give spankings, but only open hand on the butt and legs. Usually 2 or 3 is enough to do it, but we hit hard enough to make a big noise. It's the sound that scares them' (I fixed the grammatical/spelling errors so it's readable)'

This is one I'd probably choose to buy. The design is simple and classic enough that you could put it away and bring it out to wear again; dress it up with different accessories and it would read completely differently. I like the idea of renting for truly showstopping one-time-only dresses (ie, you can't get away with rewearing them, they're too memorable), but this is such a great "keep it handy" choice for formal events that I'd advocate buying.
Thanks ladies! You are all so sweet! I managed to only have one big cry and that was after they took him back to surgery. Then it was all for naught and they determined they shouldn't do surgery. So he had a central line put in to do hemodialysis through. Tomorrow is bringing more tests. New doctors and a new treatment. It's looking like he will be here until at least Wednesday if not later. Then in 4-6 weeks, he will have to come back for the surgery. It ought to be a blast!
@willy_gert Praying for your husband and you. I hope things turn around soon.
@kelbel527 have you heard of the 3 day refresh? I haven't done it yet because I'm nursing, but I intend to do it whenever Camden weans (probably this summer). I do know some other people who have tried it and get great results and aren't starving the whole time because you still eat some actual food. Shoot me a PM if you want more information on it!

Hope you get some more answers tomorrow. Hang in there!

I agree except that the red is very memorable and cannot be worn again with that group. I don't think the rental is amazing enough to go that route. Plus imagine the fun Halloween costumes that can be done with the red!
