Randoms: I was just at Target yesterday but need to return today because I forgot something important. This means I will likely buy one or two other things I otherwise wouldn't have.
I have my 5th and final interview Thursday and I'm trying to not let it make the beginning part of my week feel stressful...I have a lot of anxiety about it. I don't know if I really want it or not and I have a lot of fears. Blegh. Anyhow, I'm trying to decide if I can get away with wearing what I wore last time. My husband asked if I remember what the interviewer wore and I said no...so he says wear the same thing, she won't remember mine either. I'm inclined to agree, especially because I will be interviewing for the most part with the CEO, not the woman I interviewed with last time, though I will see her briefly.
I DO need to buy something for pictures next weekend and am not sure what to wear. Coordinating outfits is fun for some people, not so much for me...
E is super whiney today. It is going to be a long one.
A/S today and I'm so nervous about it I can't sleep. My doctor has me so terrified because AMA (I'm 36) and I'm overweight. I just keep praying my little miracle baby is healthy and will make it full term. @jennypm Hope things with you and the husband get squared away soon
DST has messed me up too. But so has this cough/cold/whatever it is. Last night was my worst night yet, coughed all night and had chills/aches. Taking my cough med and Tylenol around the clock and temps luckily are only as high as 99.5, but that's staying on Tylenol. I called off work and called my OB office. I said they have got to see me. But of course they make you leave a msg with the nurse and she will call back. Last week one time it was 30 min, the other time it was 3 hours. So I guess I'm at their mercy. Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday-I hope this turns around fast.
@mwerren why does your doctor have you terrified? If he is implying something will be wrong with baby because of AMA and overweight, you should seek care elsewhere. I feel like you mentioned some douchery regarding weight before, too. Unacceptable. Good luck today, it'll be great!
@jennypm unresolved arguments seriously suck. I had this issue last week where we didn't have a chance to talk post argument and things sort of built up further, especially because I knew I was being a bit irrational. Take the day today to think and such and then make time for a calm conversation tonight so you can both express your feelings and move past this. It feels really good to lay everything on the table, discuss and move on.
My Random: BIG possibility I'll be moving from TN to TX in the next few months for DH's work. (Excited, but nervous that I don't know anyone, and of course the part where baby is due in March.)
21 Weeks today and have my A/S today at 2:30! My DH is so excited, and I get so thrilled to see him light up like a kid at Christmas. He put it to me the other day as a chance to go visit her, and how he's excited at each time we see her. :x
Hope everyone has a great day, and good luck to all with appointments.
@FrecklesInside Good luck with the interview this week, and hope that E gets in a better mood! And yes, I filed a complaint on the doctor and switched to another one in the group, whom I don't get to meet until November 13th. Previous doctor just drilled into me all the risks of complications that come with age and weight. Luckily the NIPT came back clear but I can't help but worry. I'm hoping I get good news but the worst is having to wait until November 13 for the A/S results. Anyhow sorry for long post!
@FrecklesInside good luck with the interview! We'll try to keep you distracted until Thurs.
As for me, our heat randomly stopped working last night. Woo! I woke up at two freezing cold and went to check the pilot light - dead as a doornail. Since I have never messed with this unit before, I decided fumbling around with it at 2am was dumb, and just put on some heavier PJs and snuggled my husband. After work I'll mess around with it, but I have a feeling it might be more than the light. Dangit.

Ugh, fuck that!! I feel like that sort of thing always happens at the worst time. But, when is it ever a good time, really? Hope it is a simple fix.
I think my H has taken over the role of 'nesting' before baby. He's gone crazy moving things into a storage unit we got, throwing things away, going on a Lowe's excursion to pick out new carpet, and then ranting about dust and dog hair - so much so that he ordered an air ionizer from Amazon. He's completely correct on all points and I agree that all of these things have to get done/fixed before the baby arrives ... but on Saturday he made me choose between coasters! I looked down into a box and both sets of coasters were in there and I proceeded to take one set out and I was holding on to them like I was on an episode of Extreme Hoarders and someone wanted to throw away my toaster from 1976 that hasn't worked in 30+ years. I've always thought I was really good about being able to throw things away that I don't use and not holding on to things for too long that don't mean anything (the anti-hoarder) ... but he's taking it to another level. I'm worried I'm going to come home to an empty room with no surfaces. lol
@healthyfor2 I feel your pain! I have a horrible head cold that has now moved down into my chest, so I was up coughing all night. I also left a message for the nurses line, but I feel like it might be a while before they can get back with me because it's Monday morning and the probably have a lot of messages from the weekend. Ugh. Being sick sucks. Being sick while pregnant sucks even worse.
Absolutely LOVE Gone With the Wind! I need to watch that again.
I hope everyone has a great day!
I've been having issues lately where if I stand for long periods of time I black out and then either pass out or catch myself before it gets to that point.. I've also been having BH contractions every day that are sometimes painful. I went to my dr and they're running tests on a vaginal exam, my urine, and blood. I should hear today if there are any alarming things. But I'm just requesting T&Ps please..
@FrecklesInside you definitely are a trooper. I hope they make you a great offer with everything you want, and then you can decide if you want it or not. Picking a job is not an easy task. @massiejs09 my H is the same way. I save stuff and he just wants to get rid of everything. Coasters that's funny. Like 2 sets of coasters take up so much room! lol. @LionelBtchy yes being sick sucks but it's a million times worse when pregnant. I keep feeling her swimming around in there and kicking me so I'm hoping it's not phasing her too much shockingly, the nurse called me back in less than 10 minutes and I have an appt at 1. Thank goodness. @jennypm thanks! @mwerren FX everything goes well! @cinderella105 yikes that all sounds terrible. I hope they get back to you quick and that it's nothing serious.
ETA-forgot something. @Peledreamsofrain I'm so sorry about your heat! Before I moved we had problems with our pilot light a lot. I always felt like I was gonna blow up the house trying to get it back on :-/ FX it's nothing serious or expensive.
@cinderella105 T&P's for you that everything gets figured out!
@FrecklesInside that sounds so stressful! I can't imagine five interviews, two are stressful enough!
@jennypm we had the same kind of night in my house last night, I hate it.
@mwerren glad that you were able to switch doctors!
@massiejs09 I need your H to come to my house...I have some serious hoarding tendencies, mostly just with clothes and "sentimental" things--it needs to get under control. I would probably have a heart attack if someone came and got rid of stuff though...as badly I want to.
My random is that I have to go on a 3 day speaking engagement starting tomorrow and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I usually love to travel and my H and I handle it pretty well, but this will be my first distance travel/multiple nights since I got pregnant...feeling a little crazy for not wanting to leave him for that long. It has never affected me like this. On a good note, they are putting me up in an AMAZING hotel--it is a beautiful little conference center with a bed and breakfast type feel. I can't wait for that!
@rquinlin at this point, E will wear a dusty pink sweater with dark skinny jeans and boots, and will have one outfit change into a mustard yellow dress with white flowers, dark gray tights and boots. K will wear jeans and a pull over dark gray sweater annnnnnd....I will wear.......that is the part I'm still figuring out
It's looking like Amarillo for sure. I'm trying to find out as much as possible to make the transition easier. We should know something for sure by the end of this month.
Any suggestions on a good place to live @rquinlin ?
Oh my F I am tired. I slept like shit all weekend. Fuck Monday.
I also got my first hurtful comment about the size of my belly. One of my friends mentioned I am bigger at this stage of pregnancy than other people she has known. Gee thanks.
I pulled a neck muscle somehow the other night and yesterday it hurt so bad I could barely move. Thankfully some icy hot patches have helped enough that I can move my arms and my head today! You really take for granted your range of motion until you don't have it anymore!
And my A/S is Friday morning, I'm super excited! H and I are still saying we won't find out the sex so let's see if he decides to stick to that. I'll do whatever he wants to do, I feel like he should get to make a big decision and I really wouldn't feel upset one way or another so I want to leave it completely up to him.
@FrecklesInside best of luck on your upcoming interview! 5 interviews for the same position is absolutely insane and you are pretty damn fabulous for sticking it out. Hope they see that!
My random today is whiny so beware. We are cleaning out the office to move DS1 into a new big boy room. All of my teaching supplies took up most of that closet so I needed to organize it all into bins to move it to the attic.
The back story here is I am a 2nd career teacher, I was working corporate for 5 yrs then decided to spend a fortune going back to school (grad school) to get a teaching certificate. Went through all that then decided it was a fabulous time to start a family. I planned to be a working mom and when push came to shove, I decided I wanted to stay at home instead. So I piled all my depressing dreams and massive student loan debt supplies into bins where they shall stay for some untold length of time. I am just whiny that I have created a seemingly out of order life path and wonder when I will get to pursue the dream I had set for myself.
TL;DR I am very happy with my decision to stay at home and do the baby thing right now, but am also sad I pursued my dream to become a teacher then tossed it on the back burner.
Hey guys, I just thought I'd stop by and say hello. I took a little bit of a break from the boards since my last pregnancy was a CP.
I have that same cold/sinus thing you guys are describing @LionelBtchy and @healthyfor2 mentioned, but I'm pretty sure it's a cold, so there's not much a doctor can do for you. I hope you guys feel better soon.
But enough about crappy stuff, @estamos_tomamos got a BFP and that is the best news ever!! Congratulations, love.
@FrecklesInside I want to see those pictures! He's outfits sound so adorable. I pretty much have to beg my H and child to do family pictures, and even then they are both stone faced.
Just read through all the threads. I am so bad though, can't remember who to tag.
Sorry @jennypm that you are fighting with husband. I hate when arguments get drawn out longer than necessary because one of us isn't ready to be the bigger person or get over something little. (not saying that is the case with your DH).
@massiejs09 I get into those kind of moments like your husband and I feel like everything has to go. It is usually me that goes on these rampages of throwing stuff out but I kind of wish my husband would start one sometime. Maybe I should mention that men "nest" too.
@frecklesinside good luck on your interview. I also think the grey-blue sound like it would be good for family photos.
My random is that I have to figure out what I want to do for my birthday on the 14th. I can't decide if I want to actually have people over, go to dinner, or just go get a massage and have my husband make me dinner at home.
IF I wasn't pregnant I would go for dinner and drinks and have my parents babysit but since I am pregnant I kind of want to do something relaxing. What do people do for their birthdays nowadays?? Most of our friends have a small get together or we go out to dinner so I know they will be expecting me to do something.
@wendyld so much love and so many hugs for coming back to say hi today.
@JennyP0222 I understand feeling like career and such lost direction and not being quite sure how to fit in family planning. I'm moving in the opposite direction, having started with a career in teaching and realizing it isn't right for me. Buuuuut right now raising my kids is my priority, which makes things a bit complicated. We can't afford for me to stay home and it is what I really want to do. It is why this ridiculous series of job interviews has me in knots. It would be a great job for me in five years, but right now I think they are looking for me to work hours that won't be conducive to parenting. I'm also, of course, nervous about negotiating what I believe is an acceptable maternity leave. Anyhow, I want the job because I need it and it IS a good job, but, part if me doesn't want it so I can push being a SAHM through my maternity leave and find a job afterwards. That is also problematic, leaving me little time to find something. So, who knows what will happen next!!
TLDR I feel you on the career vs. Kids thing. I'm glad you are able to stay home though!
Total drive by post because today is a busy day, but I need some etiquette advice.
I'm co-hosting an engagement party November 22nd (less than two weeks from today). I sent out invitations two weeks ago, but of 37 invitations sent, I've received three RSVPs. I would normally just start calling/texting/emailing this weekend (so one week out from the party) to see who was coming, BUT I don't know most of the invited guests. I have emails for some of them, but not all. One of my co-hosts knows a few more, but the groom has a big contingent that neither of us knows well.
So my question is whether it is appropriate to ask the bride and groom to remind the invited guests to RSVP. I'd rather not involve them at all, but they are the only link between many of the two hosts and the guests.
@LBeez13 I told my H I want a casino buffet with ALL the crab legs for my bday!
Whew.
My random.. My A/S is in 4 hours and I'm so excited/nervous/anxious I couldn't sleep last night! My family and H's parents are coming over for dinner and we are going to tell them the sex. Such an exciting day!

I wouldn't ask the bride and groom to make the calls but you can ask them for any emails or phone numbers you are missing. Since you are co-hosting, you should make the calls/emails or split them with the other hostess.
Grr... This is what I knew the answer was, but didn't want to hear. Thank you for confirming.
@wendyld, Ugh I am so sorry you had a CP, it's beyond unfair. I had missed seeing you post though so am glad you stopped in to say hi and let us know. Hope you feel better soon.
Fuck today, man. My boss was just fired. I loved her and she initiated a lot of positive changes in our area. Office politics blew up an incident bigger than it should have been, and she got the chopping block. This is why no one tries anything positive in corporate America.
Thanks for the love, guys. We are back on the baby making train, so hopefully I'll be back in the game soon. I just needed some time off so that I don't wallow.
I hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend. We didn't have a lot of plans after Friday, so we got in a lot of family time this weekend. Much needed.
@katydid2014 Glad to hear you're starting to feel better!
@peledreamsofrain Oh no! I'm so sorry about your boss. I vaguely remember you mentioning something previously about being worried she was going to take the fall for something. Not sure if I'm remembering that correctly, but I'm so sorry this happened to her.
Yeah. I owe her a lot, because she saved my career from an evil ex boss. I feel like a failure that I couldn't return the favor.
@Peledreamsofrain That sucks about your heat going out. Hope it is a relatively easy fix.
@healthyfor2 I'm sorry you are still sick. I hope your doctor's office gets back to quickly and they can fit you in for an appt.
AFM, I am waiting at my CNM's office for my appt at 11am to go over my a/s results. Also found out this morning my husband got an assignment overseas and we leave in May. Have any of the military mom's gone through a PCS with a newborn? I'm very excited for this opportunity for my H and our family, but at the same time very nervous about making the move with two little ones.
I've been over on TTGP doing my usual lurking and saw their November Siggy Challenge is Animals Being Jerks. Those gifs are cracking me up. I can't stop watching some of them.
@chilibeansm0m I have kaiser too! They are so unorganized it seems and always make me wait. With your a/s waiting with a full bladder, every minute counts!
