Everyday Changes

I have had to modify how I do a lot of things over the last month. I have to do a weird lean/bend to put on socks and shoes, I lean sideways and slip my legs into my underwear from the freaking side already and things like that but I want expecting the parenting changes.

DS lays his head on my tummy instead of my chest because that's what he can reach when he's in my lap but today war the first time he couldn't sit in my lap while I put shoes on him.

Have you had to make any changes that you weren't expecting?

Re: Everyday Changes

  • DH usually reads Ella her night time stories in her rocker. But when he is at work late or traveling, it is Mommy duty. About a month ago I had to start squeezing her in beside me in the chair, because my lap has completely disappeared and she was squishing baby sister!

  • I have to roll over in bed in stages. Like, hands down on bed, lift a bit, turn on my back. Pause. Then brace my hands to the other side, lift, and settle down to new side.

Weird thing: my hands and feet have stopped going numb when I'm on my back (but I never am for long). Isn't that the reverse of how it should work?
This! I flip back and forth on my sides quite a bit before I fall asleep (always have). Now I have to roll over in stages and actually think about what I'm doing.

  • Within the next few weeks DH and I are going to have to switch garages because I am having a hard time getting my car door open wide enough to get my belly out. Didn't see that one coming!

My husband has whined about Roslin kicking him in the back/butt too, lol. Maybe it's a Roslin/Rosalyn thing. ;) He's getting more used to it now though, I think.

I did this today, I can't reach them comfortably anymore!!!

Also rolling out of bed and getting up off the floor, it takes like three steps for me to get up now, before I could spring right up!!

And someone parked too close to me today and I wasn't positive I could get the door open wide enough to get in :\">

  • I can't carry the laundry basket down the stairs anymore. It pushes on my belly and is super uncomfortable.

I wore boots that didn't zip today, but rather pull up. That was a miserable experience going on and off.

I love to hang out in our chaise lounger.....DH has to pull me out now.

  • DH has to give me a little shove in the evenings to help me get off the sofa. As a yoga teacher, every day is a new experience of modifying what I can do and checking off certain postures that are no longer comfortable. It's pretty hilarious at times. Am now paying to have my toes painted and my V waxed since I can't see down there and husband is scared to help. Yay!!
  • I also literally roll out of bed. Haha. Luckily I've already been paying someone to do my nails and vag waxing so that hasn't changed.

@jennjilljoite, off topic, but I love your daughter's name. Simply love.
Thanks @lizjennings81. I love that I'm not the only one using such an awesome name (@dacora).

  • My boobs got bigger faster this time but I don't remember them being so heavy and sweaty last time around. If this is what it's like t have boobs, I want my IBTC card back along with small A's.

  • I spent about 15 minutes sitting on the tub floor shaving my V blindly then another 15 sitting on the floor in front of a mirror to finish the job. Oh, forgot the 5 minutes in the beginning spent with the weed wacker before taking on the 30 minute project.

    This was me tonight.

I couldn't believe how long it took. BUT no cuts, so victory!
I'm about to let DH try his hand at shaving there. I really wish I could do it myself, but I'm desperate enough to give him a chance. FX for no cuts/nicks!! Then I'll let it grow out a bit and get a wax. Still waiting for a good time to do that.

  • Rolling out of bed. If I drop something it's on the floor until DH comes home at lunch time. Putting on shoes/boots is a serious challenge that always leaves me out of breath. Sex is awkward. My bed is so high up it's hard to get into. I let DH shave my legs. Pedicures!! So many changes..

But seriously- when I go for a pedicure they always give me a hard time about cutting my toe nails short. I'm like cut them as short as you can. I'm pregnant and my hair/nails grow too fast. Ugh!!
  • My DH has to hold a mirror for me so I can shave down south. Clipping my toenails cannot be done by me again.
Pregnant with baby BOY #1 due 2/24/14 after 4 years of TTC and IUI #3
  • Putting shoes on is the worst! I'm not the most flexible and I'm about ready to just wear slippers all day everyday.

Other things that I did not know would impact me so soon: bending over, fitting thru tight places, sex and BJ positions.

My daily activities are getting more and more comical for my hubby's viewing pleasure. :)

  • @erobbins09‌ you're freaking hilarious.

@nomnomasaur0426‌ I do a weird crabwalk/waddle up the stairs to get DS in the morning. It's the least painful way to get up the stairs. I'm the only one in the house allowed to laugh about it.

  • I used to be able to lean over out soundboard to turn it on and off, but now with the belly I can't reach so I have to walk around behind it.

Sometimes I the morning I forget that I can't just sit up like a normal person and I'll try out of habit... Then nothing will happen and I'll remember the big ol' lump in my belly and I'll roll over.

Realized this weekend that I still have toenail polish on from a wedding in July!!  It looks terrible and I can't get down there to take care of it.  I haven't been able to get myself to ask DH to do it either.  We have a babymoon spa weekend coming up at the end of November and it will just have to wait until then.

  • It's super handy having a toddler that's close to the floor height wise. He's usually willing to pick up the stuff I drop so I don't have to bend over :)

I need to sit to put my shoes on because standing on one foot hurts SO bad. Same goes for putting on pants/socks.

I'm having a hard time washing dishes too! I have to stand on my tip-toes so that my belly is above the counter when I reach into the sink. I also have to have DH empty the dryer and washing machines. I just can't bed that far anymore, and if there is a lone sock at the bottom of our deep washing machine...forget it.

  • Getting laundry out of the top loading machine sucks now. It's like the washing dishes thing, where you're almost reaching sideways and blindly swiping for any residual socks at the bottom.

I'm also literally rolling out of bed. It's weird.

And here is a REALLY unexpected one.

My preferred blow job position is no more. DH lays back on the bed and I lean over him. Uh, now I can't lean down and reach anymore. Oops.
I've had this, too. Minor adjustment: I have to rest slightly on my side, but it's comfortable enough that I can get the job done (cough::mostrecentlythismorning::cough).

Mad props to you ladies (or should I say to your DHs)... But No, just No

  • I gave up on taking the stairs in my office building a long time ago. I also gave up any type of shoe that requires a buckle or lace.

I roll (literaly) out of bed.

I have a hard time picking up DS to place him in his crib at bedtime. I have always been the one to do it. I had to give that job to DH. If he's not home, it's rough.

And shaving my legs is not done as often as it should be.
