Why do people think it is appropriate to ask me "Are you excited?!" about The Little Lady. I think it's the dumbest question I've ever heard...that and "were you trying?"
Haha that's my absolute favorite question. One of these days I want to say "no, it's such a pain in the ass to have a kid..." but then I won't because I don't mean it and I don't want little EP to hear me say it.
I married a ginger.

I was actually shocked the first time someone asked me if this was planned. Because for the past year all I could think about was getting pregnant so yes it was planned and I'm so excited I can't contain myself.
What are they expecting us to say umm yeah actually I'm not really looking forward to this at all.

The last time someone asked if she was an "accident" and I said "yes, I'm not even sure who the father is"
LOL - NICE!!! I can't stand that question! I always want to tell them how I've been monitoring my ovulation and having sex almost every other night for many months, but thought that might be inappropriate. Instead I remind them I'm 32, been married for 3 years, and bought a house a year ago...

I always think the exact same thing! I want to be a smart-ass, but don't want the little lady to think I'm serious... As if she has any idea what I'm saying!

I am so sick of hearing "Are you getting excited?" and "How are you feeling?" Those are 2 questions you should never ask a woman who is 9 months pregnant...hell I didn't even like hearing that when I was 6 weeks pregnant!

Oh and since when did it become ok for the general public to ask if it was planned?! I have only asked that question twice in my laugh to my 2 closest friends because I knew that they were both having rough times in their marriages and as I suspected they weren't. Neither of them were particularly happy to be pg at that time and both were on bc which failed. So for them it let them know that I understood the situation and was sympathetic for them to talk to.
I got asked this question at work by some loud mouth in the middle of dispatch. My response was, "Yes as a matter of fact it was but my miscarriage last Sept was not, in case you were wondering about that."
I think that sent the message about that question.

I so agree that these are dumb questions!! One of my employees found out this last week and asked "So is congrats in order?" What another dumb one along those lines!!
The last time someone asked if she was an "accident" and I said "yes, I'm not even sure who the father is"
love it.

My DH's brother asked us that. I thought this was a particularly odd questions after he knew we had already been trying and lost our first LO. I don't understand people sometimes.

Personally, I prefer the "Was it planned?" question.
I responded to someone who said that the other day with "No, I just forgot how bcp worked after 10 years of taking them."
