Empty sac yesterday

I had my first ultrasound yesterday and had estimated that I was 6w4d , however, tge gestational sac appeared empty.

My Dr thinks that I'm just not as far along as I had thought, I guess it's common, especially as we get older, to not ovulate as regularly as I used to. I certainly hope she's right, I dont think my hubby and I can handle a third loss this year. Thanks for listening to me vent. Has anyone else experienced this and then gone on to deliver a healthy baby?

I'm assuming you're measuring from your last menstrual period (LMP) and not your ovulation date? Were you temping or using other fertility indicators (OPKs, CM) to determine ovulation? It really depends on when you ovulated, for example, I know I ovulated on CD 21, so when I had my first u/s I was 5w3d and only saw a sac and the doc said it was normal. I'm also pretty sure the egg implanted around 8-9DPO since I got a negative test on 10DPO, but later fished it out of the trash and saw the smallest hint of a shadow of where a line would be, so I didn't implant early. However, if I was dating from my LMP, I'd be really behind and super worried. So good luck and hopefully on the 11th you'll see a nice strong heartbeat.

Hey love I have the same but they said I was 4weeks 2 days but I haven't had a period since 16/9 and that wasn't even normal! So we are waiting to see if anything happens next couple weeks hope you all the best!

The same thing happened to me! I thought I wAs close to 7 weeks went in for first US and they saw the sac and yolk but showed me to be closer to 4 weeks... It was really unsettling but then we went back 2 weeks later- measured 6 weeks 6days and the heartbeat was strong! I ovulated on day 28 on my cycle so my numbers were just off... Hoping similar for you!

this exactly. I o'd on cd 21 which puts me a week behind LMP. When I went for my first US this week they said "you should be measuring 9 weeks 3 days but are measuring 8 weeks 4 days" I told them 8 weeks and 4 days is exactly what I thought I should be considering when I o'd! If you dont know when you o it can be tough to know how far along you really should be. And you cant go by past cycles too because I have o'd anywhere for CD14-CD21.

I had the same thing happen yesterday. I thought I was 6 weeks and all the Dr saw was an empty sac. She drew betas and I go back for another draw tomorrow as well as a f/u ultrasound next week. From what I've read online it was just too early to see anything and my ovulation/implantation dates are probably not as far along as I thought. Hang in there!! Try to stay positive

Same thing happened to me, but then I went back a week later and saw the fetal pole and heartbeat! I hope the same happens for you!

I had the same thing happen yesterday as well. According to LMP I should be 6w2d, but yesterday the Dr. saw what looked like the beginning stages of the sac. I do not temp/chart so I have no idea when I O'd. The dr. was trying to reassure me that I am just earlier then I thought and she said she wouldn't see anything at 5 weeks. She drew my betas and I have another draw tomorrow, praying they are rising as they should. My f/u ultrasound is not until 11/13. Trying to stay positive and just telling myself it was too early. Praying we all see are little ones on the next ultrasound....good luck!

I went through two miscarriages this year. First one was empty sac and second there was an actual baby. Just keep trying. God only gives you what you can handle. Don't stress either. It'll happen. I'll be praying for you!!

When I was pregnant with my son the same thing happened to me, they said "they were sorry" I was supposed to be 6 weeks and some days and I went back a few weeks later and there was my son, strong heart beat and was only a day short of 7 weeks. Don't lose your faith(;

My doctor is saying I shouldn't go for an ultrasound until 8-12 weeks. Is this not normal if many of you are having them done so early? I will be six weeks tomorrow. My next appointment is on November 14 and no ultrasound booked yet

My first app and u/s is also at the 8w5 day mark. They said that it varies on where you live, pretty jealous of all the peeps getting them early.. not a fan of the waiting game.

This happened to me when I was pregnant with my son. I went for my first u/s and there was only a sac. My doc had me come back a week later, and there was my son with a beautifully strong heartbeat. I had had a mc a few months before so that week of waiting was torture, but seeing him there made up for it.

I went in for my first u/s and we saw nothing. Went back a week later and saw gestational sac and yolk sac, no baby. They thought I was 6wks 2 days, told me to wait another week and come back. Went back yesterday and saw baby and heartbeat! Measured me at 6wks 4days, so I'm about a week-ish behind. Said I must've just ovulated late. Was so cool to see the heartbeat! The week wait between u/s was awful though... FX for you!

This just happened to me! I was heartbroken. Bur i came back the next week and guess what!!!?? The baby was there and I just ovulated later than normal so Keep ur hopes up! >:D<

Hopefully it's still early! At 6 weeks they should still be able to see the yolk sac. They have done an ultrasound to locate that for me before, to confirm very early on that it's not ectopic. Have you had a blood test done to confirm pregnancy? And then redone again in two or three days to confirm the level of the pregnancy hormone is doubling?

Early sans are hard. If you're just a little off on your ovulation date, it makes a huge difference in what you can see. Fx that your dates are just off & you get great news when you go back.

The same thing happened to me on Friday 10/31. They said that the sac shield be larger and that it looked like it dropped from the week before but I'm only 5 weeks, 4 days so I'm freaking out a little.

The doctor literally said that because the sac is lower this week that its " on its way out". I was soo upset to hear that and thought it was rude given that she knows I've had an mc earlier this year.

I find out tomorrow how my bloodwork reads for my HCG levels.
