This my doctor won't schedule an U/S before 8 weeks. That way even if you are a week behind (which happens all the time, it's super rare to have a scan show exactly the same date you think you ovulated) You don't freak out and see nothing. Even if you're 7 weeks you should still see a heartbeat.
