@JamieK1882 I feel like a broken record, so sorry aboutthat, but with my son I had my first cervical check at 36 weeks. At that point I was 100% effaced and 4 cm dilated. Istayed hat way for 6 days before foing into labor. I don't know how long before the check I had been like that.
When I was in the hospital this time with ptl, the ob said that usually ftm efface before dilating, but stm dilate before effacing. Whether that is accurate, and what exactly he was trying infer, I don't know. I wish I could give you a better answer, but I can't. It couldbe soon, it could be weeks.
@schrijiver I'm so sorry they are changing up so much this late in the game. It's so frustrating but at least they figured out they can't handle your situation now instead of when you're already in labour!
@lovebuggies1 I am right there with you, I am not going to care what I look like in the hospital. Just get my hair out of my face so I can focus....ha ha!
I have packed a contact case and a little bottle of contact solution in my hospital bag. Along with my glasses. I also have make up remover wipes. No telling if I will have make up on or contacts in when I head to the hospital. I have every intention of stripping down while I am in there though. Contacts will go in their case, glasses will go on. Make up will come off and hair will be tied up. I am not taking make up with me either. Ain't nobody got time for that!

All of these N14 babies coming in October is so exciting!! Anyone want to place bets on who will have the first official Novemeber baby!? I'm so excited seeing all of the birth stories!

Thanks that does help and I'm sorry I missed your earlier posts about that. I was just curious as to whether this is something that could stay that way for weeks or if I should really start getting on packing that hospital bag...haha
@schrijiver--I'm so sorry--that's some crazy news to get, especially when you're working. If it were me, I would probably go in and chat with my principal and just let them know you got that phone call right before your observation....not that you need an "excuse" but I know it would make me feel better (especially if I felt the lesson not gone very well). Hard to leave those emotions "at the door".
@Lilwatz..you're a new/FTM. I know I'd understand if you really didn't know what day it was
@schrijver I'm so sorry that this happened this late in the game but as PPs have said, better to find out now than while you're in labor. Lots of positive thoughts to you!
@TC0514 I'm secretly hoping I'm the first November baby...I'm so done! )
@FhSTAR81 - Addison looks adorable! Good luck at your NST/BP today!
@shaddox16 - Good luck at your appointment this afternoon!
@kyliedaniellexx - Mmmm. Gummy worms. I had sour patch kids (with my protein bar) for breakfast. Breakfast of champions!
@MrsG1019 - Jacob is one beautiful baby! Loooove the photos.
@Kllopez1221 - Good luck at your appointment today!
@WildFlower810 - Add me to team "I was down a pound" at my last appointment (but I've gained a crapload more than you have). I think my body is finally at its max capacity.

Ooh, ooh, bet on me!! I'm having a membrane sweep and acupuncture tomorrow to hopefully get this guy moving...
I love reading the birth stories, but yeah, some of them kind of scare me, I'm not going to lie. I think my wimp brain is taking over. I feel like a little scared kid!! Waaaah.
Weight gain- I have the opposite problem where I keep gaining weight and I really want to stop and I don't know why because my appetite has been low. I feel like a whale!
I have an ultrasound with my high-risk doc today and am very nervous about it. Still trying to figure out my bleeding issue (I don't clot well) and will likely find out if they recommend a CS, which could be good or bad for bleeding, and poses the additional issue of taking a significant risk with an epidural (b/c of the bleeding) or doing general anesthesia. I really don't want a CS. I feel like today is the point of no return, and am just really stressed about it.
In preparation, I decided I should open our Halloween candy "so it's all set." I forgot how amazing Oh Henrys are.
@Emnob28 I'm in Maryland. The wine distributors here aren't so great, which is one reason we joined clubs. We joined the ATP at Ridge (Sonoma), which is only 2 bottles every month, so we get their super small production stuff but it doesn't keep us from buying the other wines we want. The other vineyards we belong to (Yarra Yering and a local Virginia one) only require us to purchase one case a year, which we select. We just went to Italy in June, which was tremendously hard because I couldn't drink or enjoy the cheese or prosciutto. We're going back next summer for a friend's wedding so I will be stocking up on barolos, brunellos and chiantis . Hubby and I usually manage to pack about 6-7 bottles each in our checked bags, and then we'll likely box up an additional case. We're also going to Napa in April for a triathlon (gotta lose this weight!) and a few days of wine tasting, and hoping to try some vineyards we haven't been to before--any suggestions?
schrijiver - I'm so sorry, that's gotta be rough. I think it's important to remember that this is what's best for you and your baby, even if it feels like a shitty situation right now. Fingers crossed you get a new doctor that you absolutely LOVE >:D<
I was just at Michael's picking up some fabric glue for my Halloween costume. While on the checkout line they had a display of ornaments with names. I sifted through and found the name we're planning to use on the baby. I picked it up, smiled like an asshole at it for like 20 seconds, and then burst into tears. Oh god, I'm the crazy pregnant woman!!!
I'm having a tough time today with not hurting myself. First, I took a piece of paper and basically slammed it into my eye. My replacement said it looked like I did it on purpose with how my hand just did it. Second, I was eating bagel chips and one cut the roof of my mouth open and now all of my front teeth hurt. Third, my head is pounding.
@Econosaurus Many thanks for the recommendation! We haven't been to Scribe but I generally love Carneros chardonnay and pinot. Artesa has been my go-to in Carneros because I fell in love with Codorniu in Spain when I was 16, and also because they have an amazing, in-depth wine and cheese tasting. We will have to branch out and visit Scribe this time!
Been cleaning all day! I seem to be moving much slower because it is taking forever to do the smallest of tasks, but at least some stuff is getting done
Also, I made brown sugar fudge today and it's making my life...I think my teeth might rot out lol
Um... this sounds amazing and I'm going to need some immediately. Recipe?
@Curlyfries851 I made this last night and it is amazing! I was nervous with the mL measurements (not used to those!) but it turned out soooo good. I want to eat the whole pan!
Yesterday I had a midwife appointment. Last week they checked and the first midwife thought I would have the baby in a few days. Well yesterday the second midwife checked and she said I was closed up tight with the head high and didn't expect the baby anytime soon.
I'm trying to just relax and enjoy the last few days (weeks ) but its hard. I was hoping for some good news, but I just feel like the baby is going to stay in there and need to be surgically removed.
@silverwings72 My huge bag of Viactiv calcium chews just arrived in the mail from Amazon today--you are such a good influence! Unfortunately they're not as yummy as I remembered...
I probably am making a bad decision to bump rather than nap while the girls are, but I miss you guys. I have been reading and love titting. It is NOT the same. Hopefully, life will even out here soon.
Question: will I get a special parking pass? My guess is that Parker and I will drive my car to the hospital Monday night. My car won't leave until I do. So, will I have to pay for parking all 3 days?
Hugs and T&Ps for those ladies that need them. I can't believe how rapid fire these babies are coming now! So amazing! So scary!
I feel like total garbage today. I've had cramps all day and I'm still bleeding a little. It's dark and not very much, but I'm still not feeling myself. I'm scared the cervix check yesterday will jump start labour and I'm still on team inside baby right now. I want this baby to stay in at least 1 more week. PLEASE.
In more positive news, tomorrow is my last day at work!
I'm all sorts of weird today. I saw this gif and I can't stop watching it. It just gets funnier and funnier. And I'm just going to leave it here... it's a GIF(T). Get it?

If it makes you feel better, I had an invasive cervix check/stretch and sweep type thing at 38/5 and even though I was crampy and bled for a couple days it didn't do anything... I felt back to normal after about 3 days. Try to take it easy and relax and hopefully you will feel better soon!

I'm sure each hospital is different, but we didn't get a pass when I had DD. We were in there for a week, but luckily we ran into someone we know who works there and he ended up giving us passes. Otherwise we would have paid.

It's actually free to park at my hospital, but when my mom was going through dialysis and a kidney transplant at a different hospital, she got a parking ticket and security would stamp it for her so she didn't have to pay. Maybe you can ask if they do that if you're a patient?
@venussapphire - Sorry you are getting conflicting answers from your midwives. I can imagine that's frustrating. I am kind of dealing w/ the same thing with my OB and the high risk doctor (she seems to think leaving the twins in for 39 weeks is just fine and OB tends to be a little more conservative. I like OB better.) I hope you are able to relax this weekend.
@FhSTAR81 - I'm thinking good thoughts for Addison and hope she gets better soon. UTIs are no fun at all!
@AnnieRoo13 - I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I will have my fingers crossed that baby will stay in at least another week for you. Tomorrow is my last day at work, too. I'm so excited and so ready to be done. Even if it's just so I don't have to answer random people who stop me in the hallway and ask "How much longer?" I should just start carrying around a magic 8 ball.

@smboswell1 When we left the hospital, they provided us with a pass that allowed us to pay $3 (the standard outpatient/appointment fee). We were also told that if my husband neededto leave, todobut so after like 9-10 pm because they leave the gates up and you don't haveto pay since it is unmanned.
Ask the hospital, but hopefully you have some discount.

@KUinCBUS - I got that book as a mother's day present a couple years ago. LOVE it. There's an audio recording of Morgan Freeman reading it that is just fabulous.

But doc scheduled an induction for next friday with will be 40w 6d. Hopefully I don't make it that long and the little guy decides to come out on his own!!!!
@shaddox16 - Sorry to hear about your BP, but excited you're going to meet your little girl next week! Sounds like the Dr. was able to come up with a good compromise. Will be thinking good thoughts for you!
@BridgetThoams - Fingers crossed your little boy decides to speed up the timeline and comes on his own.

I'm having contractions this afternoon. They are not regular or anything, but this is the first time I've had more than 3 in a day in forever, so I'll take it.
Spent 4 hours in L&D today.. Baby boy was not moving as much as usual, my headache was getting worse, and I just felt "off" with the constant BH contractions. I called my doctor and she wanted me to go get checked out. On arrival both mine and LO heart rate were pretty elevated.. After being put on monitors and doing a bio-physical sono they determined baby is OK! Thank God.. Monitor was picking up my contractions unfortunately they are not that close together. However they were lasting over 3min long each.. So basically another day of prodromal labor.. While there cervix "softend" but no further dilation so I was released. I'm scheduled for Tuesday morning induction anyways but it would have been nice to have been kept and just get this show on the road! I'm beyond ready.. Sorry for the bitchy crybaby post..
