I got the flu mist Friday, and I have been so incredibly tired ever since. I also feel a little ill. I didn't realize when I got it that it was the live virus. Crap. I hope this goes away soon.
I just watched Magic Mike. It was pretty meh, but damn Channing Tatum can dance.
D always calls him my boy. He'll be like "your boy is in that movie" and I have no idea why. I think he has a crush on him.
Did you watch the Step Up movies?
Hey, @TJ1979 which is better, coconut milk creamer or soy creamer? For coffee.
Eta: or anyone else that does non dairy
Update: I went with coconut . I hope it's good!
Soy creamer is much creamier than coconut. I prefer it.
Why do kids love spiders?! E calls them pydrrrrrs. Really cute, but scares me every time.
Aaaahhhh! This reminded me if one of my former students. He was the sweetest kid ever, but English was not his first language. Our kindergarten curriculum had little alliterative sayings to help teach the alphabet. For S the chant was "spider in the soup" but when he said it, it always came out as "pider in de poop."
My kid is obsessed with spiders. There were huge cardboard cutouts of them hanging in target today and she pretty much freaked out if we went out of sight of them.
However hearing her say spidey "spyeee" is pretty cute. Maybe I can train her to remove them from the house?
Are you sure they weren't cut outs of flies?

Because I know y'all want to answer all my BLW questions:
We don't have enough time between getting M home from daycare and getting her in bed for a full meal, so we were thinking of having "cocktails" with her and dinner after she goes to bed. What should we all have? I was thinking of some roasted veggies. Maybe some cheese (but not much, for salt). Mostly I'm looking for foods for all of us that taste good cold (ie prepped ahead) and aren't too salty.
We totally do this on nights when we just don't have a lot of energy left. We'll just arrange things nicely on one of our nicer cutting boards
A lot of times it's just pulling out what's in the fridge, but we usually try to make it resemble some kind of regional cuisine. We'll do bits of ham, chicken, or sausage (sometimes all 3 to give DS some choices), some cheese, a combination of fresh fruit and dried fruit (apricots and prunes are usually well-received). Olives if we are going more Mediterranean; Gherkins if the meats on the sharing board are more german/alsatian. Ditto pita and dip, or crackers/ pate. And we pretty much have homemade cole slaw in the fridge year-round but play with different seasoning combinations to keep it interesting. Sometimes we'll make little finger sandwiches (keep the fillings simple -- hummous and cucumber, or a tuna salad or chicken salad that you make ahead of time) but that is about as industrious as we get on those nights.
Some of this stuff is on the saltier side, but we try to keep the salt low for stuff that we cook at home, and we have a local sausage-maker who makes a low-salt sausage for kids. Also, DS seems to be pretty good about drinking water so we haven't had problems. Thank goodness, because he seems to be a fan of prosciutto, serrano and chorizo.
E LOVES wheel. She loves to call out letters and clap. It's like the show was made for her. Oh, and her new thing? Telling vanna to go back and forth. No no, go that way. No no, go this way.

@tj1979 I can't even fathom putting on a thong right now. It would just be so all kinds of sexy with my PP pouch and stretch marks. I'm not sure DH could handle it.
