Have you tried talking to DH about it?
Yeah, and he just gets all defensive so its pointless..
Sorry I'm late to this but HOW are you talking to him about it? Are you accusing him or being aggressive when you talk to him? I can understand if you are because his behavior would piss me off too but maybe try talking g calmly with him. He might not even realize what he's doing.

I can relate to him because I get super frustrated in the MOTN and DH has to calm ME down! I hate getting so frustrated with the baby but newborns are so fucking hard sometimes.
I just calmly told him how I feel and what I see when he's with her. He just doesn't respond, then he's super nice to me and overly sweet to DD afterwards like he's sucking up. I can tell he felt bad. :-<

  • I'm pretty upbeat post-partum, but yesterday was rough. DD cried almost all day when she wasn't on the boob.  I'm pretty sure the chili I had for dinner Friday night did not make for pleasant milk on Saturday.  DH has been sad that he can't soothe her the same way he was able to while we were in the hospital.  Today is better though.  DH was able to get her to fall asleep on his chest so we had a happy baby and daddy- and therefore a happy mommy   :x

@MrsSinner402 hugs . it honestly does get better. SO gradually got more patience as DS got older. I know it's hard right now but as PP have said, men don't always get the bond we do right away.

I am also jealous of overdue ladies with inductions set. I can't see my midwife until I'm 10 days over to even discuss one.

I'm not really looking forward to it unless my cervix decides to cooperate before then; if that makes you feel any better. But I don't think they'll let me leave the hospital without a baby, even if the induction fails just because of the risk/benefit ratio. In some medical circles, I'm way too overdue for it to be safe, but here I am.

I really wanted to avoid an induction if possible...but I just can't keep going! Friday I was a little over a cm dialated but 80% effaced. I have had a lot of contractions this weekend...so I am hoping that helped dialate me so we have a better chance of success. We will see though!

  • We received two hand knitted/crocheted blankets from an organization called Threads of Love while our babies were in the NICU.  I wish I knew how to knit or crochet so I could return the favor to other moms.

Also, NICU's take donations of infant clothing to dress the babies in. One of the best days in NICU was going in to see they had dressed the twins in real clothing instead of the hospital shirt.

I am really struggling with breast feeding/pumping. I know I should be glad I am producing anything at all, but it breaks my heart that I cannot produce enough for them because of the medications I am on.  I want them to take to the breast so I can stop pumping all together. But they hate having to work hard for the milk and we all hate the nipple shield.  I feel like we are stuck in a horrible cycle we will never be able to get out of.

  • I know I should look through the bfing thread first but I'm exhausted. So, little man scored a 10 on his apgar and got a clean bill of health. He nursed twice at the birth center really good. We left around 5am to come home and he's been asleep basically the entire time. He did wake up twice since then for a few minutes but has had zero interest in eating since then.

Am I crazy for being worried about a baby who wants to sleep?

You're not crazy at all. :) But he does need to eat. Wake him every 2 hours during the day and every 3 at night until his pedi appt. They'll probably have you continue to wake him at least every 3 hours until his 2wk appt or until he's back up to his birth weight.
What if he wont eat? I tried both times he woke up to get him to latch but he wouldn't.

What does he do? And what do you do? Is he just not waking up, or is he awake and not opening his mouth?

Change his diaper and leave him naked (in just a diaper). Set him chest to chest up high between your breasts, and put a blanket over the two of you. Does his head bob around a bit, like he's searching for the breast? If he's asleep, take away the blanket and tickle his ears/neck/feet.

ETA: when he bobs his head and roots for the breast, gently guide him there. Encourage him to open wide by tickling his lips with your nipple.

  • We just carved pumpkins. Can I use the insides we scooped out to make puree and baby food?

I don't think so, the best pumpkin for that is a sugar pumpkin. I used canned organic pumpkin purée for my baby food.
Thanks :) We have a lot of it and I was hoping to be able to use it.

  • I love you, gas relief drops. DS's fussiness has been reduced to a fraction of what it once was.

Gripe water saved me this morning.
