Oooh PP, my apologies; review of previous posts didn't make your extensive knowledge base abundantly clear. To OP: it might take a couple of weeks for supplements to kick in.

My sister got dehydrated from eating too much ice as opposed to drinking more water. She assumed it was frozen water so what was the big deal, but apparently you can do too much of it. Some is fine, but make sure plenty of non frozen water is drunken. (I don't remember why ice was a big deal, but she winded up in the hospital).
The nurse that gave our hospital tour made sure to point out specifically that the snack room in L & D has one of these ice makers in it. Almost all of us ladies looked at our partners and were like "REMEMBER THIS."

How did I miss that post, @sysakbaby?! I so badly want to call our 1-800 nurse/health concern phone line just to ask if I can hurt my baby by eating too much ice.
@amieeyoung - If your sister got dehydrated, it wasn't FROM eating ice. It was from not having enough water/stuff to hydrate her. The ice didn't magically make her dehydrated.
My mother was specifically told that if she was having trouble drinking water due to her cancer treatments (common) to suck on ice cubes for hydration. By doctors. Doctors told her that.
If you eat too much ice your baby will get all chilly and then they'll have to force a coat up your vag to keep him warm. Still better than the battery powered fan they have to jam up there if you eat spicy food.
In memory of the baby Hufflepuff and all the angel babies of D14

The doctor and hospital told her that- I did mention that she was eating too much ice... meaning not drinking enough while eating ice...... no need to get upset, simple misunderstanding- perhaps I wasn't specific enough? I was simply reminding people to make sure they are drinking enough as well.
Um andplusalso I have been anemic since puberty and was on iron supplements before pregnancy. I take additional supplements now. Sometimes I crave ice sometimes I am sleepy sometimes I crave David beckham naked feeding me chocolate cake. It doesn't necessarily mean my iron is low even if it is a symptom. Just like a stuffy nose doesn't necessarily mean you have Ebola. Best way to check is to go see a doctor. They can test your blood. Craving ice? maybe OP is hot, maybe she is horny, maybe she over did the ice eating while anemic and now doesn't now how to quit her terrible addiction. Maybe David beckham should drop trow and come to my house with a cake.
Go to your local store and buy a green machine by naked juice. Eat green things. Eat ice too. Stop worrying. If you can't stop worrying then make a doctors appointment. Take iron with orange juice in the morning. And your prenatals.
*shrug* no need to jump on me. Just relaying what happened to my sister. My post stated she ate ice as opposed to drinking a lot of liquid.
If you can use basic reasoning skills - she wasn't getting enough liquid intake total- ice doesn't make you dehydrated, but not enough liquid does--- so chewing ice all day and not drinking much can cause dehydration (which is what happened to her). Thus, I told people to drink as well.
I swear sometimes I think people just like to argue and make fun of people. If that makes your day/night better then you are welcome, glad I could help.

I'm 31 weeks pregnant with twins and anemic. I take my iron like I'm supposed to, but I still crave ice. What can I do to make myself stop??
So, what's wrong with ice? It's just frozen water.
Basic reasoning skills after reading the statement quoted above would lead one to believe you were telling us your sister became dehydrated because she was eating frozen water. Basic reasoning skills also confuse me when reading the post because of drunken and winded. Nobody here is arguing nor making fun, just doing what we bumpies do best. Sorry your white knighting didn't turn out the way you wanted it to.

My basic reasoning tells me that you ruined a perfectly good segue into naked David Beckham by bringing up your dehydrated sister again and how much you hate this board. Bye Felicia, helloooooo David.
So hot, as long as he doesn't speak. His voice ruins it for me. I just imagine everything he says coming out in George Clooney's voice and then he's perfection. George has a seriously sexy voice.

Also, I'm anemic and eat all the ice all day ...
