I need to quit my job today.
I work nights and it's been slowly killing me for a while. I'm always stressed, exhausted and just feel miserable.
On top of that, I'm in school and my current job doesn't offer much flexibility. Another opportunity came around for a daytime job that would allow for much greater flexibility. I'm going to lose my night differential but that's fine.
I've never quit a job before and the anxiety right now is vomit-inducing.
Please tell me I'm being a p-bag and do the damn thing. I need a pep talk!

The last two times I quit my job I felt so stressed out about it beforehand and felt guilty for letting people down. In the end, all the worrying was for nothing and people just kind of accepted it and moved on. I definitely cared more about how they were going to feel than they cared about me leaving
To clarify, yes, I have another job lined up already that I've accepted. I'm giving 3 weeks notice.
I've had this job for 3.5 years, a majority of my nursing career.
Thanks for the support! I'm awaiting a call back from my supervisor. I work in the field and don't ever really see my boss. I was going to submit a formal letter after speaking with her...but if I don't hear back by end of business should I send it and discuss Monday morning?
Edited to clarify.

I'm in pedi home health. Going to the office isn't really a thing that's done at my company. Also, I'm not quitting the company, just the specific case I'm on, further adding to the weird dynamic. I hope to stay on per diem as a fill-in when I can (like school breaks).
These were all very helpful words of wisdom so I very much appreciate them!
@riderchik - Awww! I hope you have lots of wine tonight!
