Then maybe you should donate to charities that promote access to family planning for everyone? There's a lot of places in the world where it's tough to get access to reproductive health & family planning services. Hell, it's hard enough to get that shit here! Then they don't have kids they can't afford but that's not proving access to family planning options, that's taking their choices away. Reproductive health and choice is a HUGE issue, in the US and everywhere. I strongly believe that everybody should have access to reproductive healthcare, which is why I donate to Planned Parenthood. It's important shit. And you can donate to ASPCA--donate to the charity that makes you happy, even if it's not the 'biggest' or 'worst' problem in the world that they're fighting. That's perfectly fine, you don't have to justify yourself. But it's extremely ignorant to say that it's their own fault for having kids and being stupid and their kids should just fucking starve. It's not that simple. Even in THIS country with much better access to reproductive healthcare, the MAJORITY of children are accidental or mistimed.

The ignorance is astounding!!! Many African countries are overrun by Catholicism and are taught that even contraception is against God's plan, despite the staggering numbers of HIV/AIDS victims. My personal opinion started back with the second shower thread. Despite the fact that I expressed that my statements were based on my experience I was told how I was wrong and I was gift grabby. I explained the culture of my friends and family and asked that people be open that others can have appropriate etiquette that differs based on what is acceptable in their region/circle/family. This was not disagreeing, this was self-righteous crazy!!

ETA: And that I couldn't afford to support my own baby.

I think, personally, (and no, I can't speak for anyone but myself).. the issue lies in the fact that it doesn't matter what we're talking about, chiropractic, feeding the hungry, police officers, the sky being blue- but @somerandomchick has to have the be-all end-all opinion on it. She knows everything about everything. I could post that I feel like my hair is falling out and she would post 3 paragraphs as to why my hair is falling out, the origin of the color of my hair, and who in my family tree I get my hair from. But then if I were to tell her "no, I DON'T get my hair from my Great Aunt Judith" she would then post 3 more paragraphs telling me that yes, I did in fact get my hair from my Great Aunt Judith, and here's why. There's a difference between being opinionated and being know it all argumentative. And there's a fine line between the two that she walks on daily. It just gets exhausting, really. It's not like any one is attacking or saying the girl needs to go jump off of a bridge, for God's sake, just that maybe take it down a notch with the "I know everything there is to know about the whole entire world and let me give you 12 bullets points why"...

My FIL actually went on a mission to build schools and homes for some of the African countries and many people just didn't care about learning to be safe. And no it wasn't bc of their "ruler"

Probably because I find it a little disrespectful to go on and on about how hot some guy is and how they'd like to jump all over him when right in front of their DH who they admit they hardly ever have sex with(their choice, not their SO's). The SO's in question are friends also, and nice guys.

Sex in their marriage or lack of isn't really my business, but when they've openly laughed about their poor SO never getting any, then acting like they'd jump on Channing Tatum if he walked through the door...it's just kinda gross. It's like a guy who won't touch his wife but talks in front of her how hot Kate Upton is and how he'd hit that.
