Throwing in the towel...

Made it 37 weeks and I'm pretty sure I just shaved my legs for the last time in a while. It felt like an aerobic workout and feeling my belly on my legs is starting to skeeve me out.

So I'm throwing in the towel! What about you, ladies?? What towels have you thrown in as we approach these last few weeks??

  • Loading the player...
  • -Drying my hair (has happened four times since June, thrice for interviews and once for a wedding)
-Wearing anything other than flip flops
-Being embarrassed when I drop things...my hand is totally numb, of course I'm going to drop my tea in a restaurant!

Contrary to everyone else, I've actually started painting my nails again. I avoided it in the first two trimesters because of the chemicals and it was the first time in maybe 15 years that I had bare nails, so now I'm back to painting with a "natural" nail polish.

I have thrown in the towel on trying to stay awake until a more "acceptable" hour before going to sleep at night. Some nights I barely make it till 8pm then I'm out

I've been going to bed at 8 every night sense 1st trimester. Lol

Trying to wear cute shoes.  A month ago I bought a pair of cute-ish flats in a size up that would fit my expanding feet and have been wearing those to work and sneakers on the weekends.  But even the flats have become uncomfortable so I caved this weekend and bought a pair of really ugly but super comfortable sneaker-type shoes... I'm not even sure what to call them, H thinks they look like slippers, I think they look like water shoes.  But they feel like clouds on my feet, they fit, and they have no laces, so I will be wearing them daily til this baby is out!
My mother in law gave me a pair like that.  I'm wearing them today.  They have replaced the Croc sandals I wore every day when the weather was warmer.

I finally threw in the towel on going to the gym.  I am a little tired of being stared at and doing the full hour of yoga is getting to be too much. I'm still doing some stretching at night at home.

Me too- I don't know how I managed so long without these, it's like night and day!  I can't remember the last time that I made it through half of the work day with comfy feet.  Amazing :-)

  • @rox825 and @highbornhunter what brand of shoes?  I have been in flip flops since my second trimester.  Now it's way too cold in the northeast to be open-toed.  My favorite boots are getting too snug to wear and zipping them up takes at least 10 minutes as I have to take breaks to catch my breath. I need an alternative, and no laces/zippers is a plus.

I've thrown in the towel on driving in traffic.  The other day it took me 45 minutes to go 2 miles and the LO wasn't having it, so uncomfortable.

  • I gave up trying to groom my toenails months ago.  I have been getting once a month pedicures for a few months now.

Doing my hair too.....its always in braids or pulled back.    Make up is a rare occurance these days as well.

I wish I could give up wearing shoes and actual clothes....but I still have to come to work.   We are not allowed to wear open toed shoes,  and of course no one wants to see my Tinkerbell or Eeyore jammie pants.

  • As of this morning, have given up driving. My car is a manual and I can no longer comfortably push in the clutch and still be far enough away from the steering wheel. H can now add chauffeur to his resume!
