Quick ladies, what should I take down? Blueberry scones or red velvet cake?  Both are calling my name but I can't make up my mind.

How is this even a legit question? The answer is always both.

  • @psychobutthead‌ that's bs. I'm glad you knew to cover your ass by documenting everything.

Talking to my mom. She tells me that put can cure and protect against ebola and sends me an article. I check the references and all of them are referring to cancer and AIDS studies so I let her know that. She tells me that pot is a miracle, cure all and that speed talking to me because no matter how I tried to avoid offending her, I did. I said that's what the potheads want you to think, her response was that she is not a pothead so I mentioned that she lives with and spends a lot of time with one.

Back story: growing up I was allowed around family members who were known to smoke pot. Five years ago my little brother started smoking pot. Since then my mom has done a 360 on her stance and is now for legalization. Why? Because my little brother (who has never had professional help and should seek it) has "anxiety issues" and the pot helps (even though he had threatened to lock my family in the house and burn it to the ground with them inside while high). She also thinks it would be great for my alcoholic brother with PTSD. Drugs were bad until her kids fell prey and now they're medical necessity. Can you say enabler? ~X(

  • Ladies I need lunch idea help, I am now bringing everything to work for my lunches and eating here everyday, so I don't have to pack a lunch at home (cause it never happens) I have a fully stocked kitchen here so I want to just bring my groceries in for the week and make my food/snacks as I get hungry.

This week I brought pickles, mustard, lettuce, green pepper, tomato, bread and lunch meats and and avocados, this was great for lunch all week (I did salads and sandwiches) but I am trying to pack more snacks for the week. I usually bring apples/oranges but I need way more than lunch and an apple and orange. But what else can I store here (preferably not in the fridge) that is snacky and healthy and filling but I can graze on all day? I don't really like granola bars. I don't do dairy. I went and bought dried aprocots and kale chips but its expensive to eat daily. I am kind of a picky eater, I don't like most sweets unless it is fruit, not a big bread product person. I also got a couple individual packets of sunflower butter and cranberry almond butter to make toast at work for afternoon snack but like I said, I am not a huge bread person so toast is just meh. What is your snacky work tricks?! I am willing to try anything, even if its weird LOL.

  • @Alygohome‌ back when I was motivated and had energy (what does that feel like again???) I was dehydrating a lot of my own foods in the oven-it takes awhile but if you are around the house on the weekend it isn't that bad-bananas, sweet potato chips, zucchini chips, apple chips, oven roasted chickpeas. I found all the recipes on Pinterest.

I also make my own almond butter to make apples and bananas a little more substantial. Kale chips are also really easy to make, like 20 minutes in a 350 degree oven and walla! Also rice cakes and I get those 100 calorie almond packs bc otherwise I will eat an entire canister of them.
    You had one job:

Seedless purple grapes is my go-to snack.  Also, I'm loving banana chips!

@nomnomasaur0426‌ I'm almost positive that it makes her feel better about his use of it. I'm actually pro-marijuana research and legalization but I'm not about to pretend that is anything other than an illegal substance right now. It just infuriates me that she is adamant that it cures cancer and everything else when in reality it eases symptoms and has corresponded to spontaneous remission in some cases.

Eta: the real issue is that she enables something that I disagree with (my little brother using drugs instead of getting the help he needs) and she picks and chooses which science to listen to and believe instead of just accepting all scientific fact

  • @alygohome - these are in my snack drawer these days: beef jerky, nuts (wasabi peas and wasabi peanuts are my current favourites), graham crackers, chips and salsa, frozen peas and corns.

I'm such a fatty, talking about food all the time.  I just had lunch at red robin, asked for a well done burger, it came out medium rare.  Sent it back and they took the charge off my bill. This pregnant lady is loving her free food day.

  • Super busy day, didn't have time to check bump since my commute in.

@psychobutthead - your day sounded awful! I'm so glad that you can document everything, what the principle and other custodian are doing to you sounds super sketchy. Is there an HR person you can talk to? I hope there is someone who you can reach out to!

We had an appt to interview a pediatrician this evening but it was just rescheduled for next Fri. Also, we had a game night planned tomorrow with another couple, but they came down with bad colds and we are putting game night off til next weekend too. I'm secretly psyched to have a completely free weekend now!!!!!! We've been SO busy this fall, this is the first open weekend since August.

HR is wanting me to get a signed letter from my ob. which is fine i offered to last month and they said it wasnt needed..so today is my appointment and i have an official letter from my boss and hr for my ob. i plan on quiting this job around December to january but for now im playing nice and doing as they ask and jumping through the hoops.

it amazes me they couldnt give me a warning or a writeup because i didnt do anything wrong or break any rules.so i spent and hour being lectured just because they arent happy.

  • Haha @lizzybean‌ the house I grew up in had 7 bathrooms. Even had one IN the garage. That was the best house but also so weird. And yes keeping all of them clean was a pain!
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

My DH was just talking about the dollar shave club tomight. I remember looking into it awhile ago, but there was something about shipping to Canada.
  • I'm starting to think that for Christmas I'm gonna get DH Ugg slippers. He is ALWAYS wearing mine because they're so supportive, warm, and soft even though they're obviously too small for him.

Aww thats too bad @AngieAn. There are definitely so many more options in the States, and the shipping costs are soo much more reasonable! It was a nice bonus when we moved :p
