All five of us have colds. The baby is sleeping in the bouncy seat in the pnp so she is on an incline. So far no one seems too cranky but I feel like our whole house is covered in boogers.
I just dream fed LO. I want to die now. I could hear her crying and kept thinking, she just finished eating this doesn't make sense! Waking up was the single worst moment of my life!! (
I just got two 3 hour stretches of sleep!!!! Man, if I could get her to bed before midnight I would feel like a rock star. Poor girl has gas now and is grunting and groaning.
He's been grunting and crying all night. As soon as I sit up to get him he falls asleep. The second I lay down he's up again. He's totally effing with me. So here I am awake with a sleeping baby because as soon as I close my eyes he will wake up.
Last night went amazingly smooth. LO ate at 2 and 5 and went right back to sleep afterwards. I'm kind of scared of what that means for tonight. I am not expecting a repeat that's for sure.
5 hour stretch last night. 5 minute stretch tonight. Awesome. This is not cool B, go to sleep and quit eating. I swear my baby has been eating for two hours, give my boobs a break baby.
Holy projectile vomit! That's a first. My DS never even did that. Guess I will be hunting down some new pajamas as soon as he goes to sleep... Also what's up with the suddenly gagging on bottles he did so well for a week I finally ordered more. He must know. Gah!
@ambershaw512 my DS just did this from 7:30-10pm. I try to start bedtime early, but I rarely get into Bed before 9pm. He just slept a rare 4-5 hours, though, so I'll probably be up an hour or so after he feeds this time
And again I am not in bed while the babe sleeps. Dh and I watched AHS and lo ate right at the end for what felt like forever so he should be out for a while I hope. But I know that in reality it's likely only going to be 90 or so minutes because he's been waking up every hour.
seriously contemplating hitting up th drive thru liquor store on my way home from the ped apt later... tonight has been oh so fun. Now I gotta decide what liquor I want. Beer, wine, cider, or the hard stuff... or all of the above
LO slept 4.5 hours. I feel worse than if I had slept the normal 3 hours. Also it takes forever for me to type in the MOTN. Everything is spelled so wrong autocorrect can't even fix it. Then my eyes start crossing because I'm trying so hard to get it right.
I'm fixing to just fall over dead from lack of sleep. Every time I lay LO down she wakes up, I get it that she likes me sitting up holding her, but it's a little hard for me to feel comfortable sleeping holding a newborn in my arms like that!! DD1 will be up soon. And then I really will be dead.
I keep thinking those with longer stretches are older because that is all that gets me through right now. He will not go back to sleep after a feeding, it takes hours. I just don't know what to do. He is 3.5w, I want to cry. 4w it will be better right?
It will get better. Every baby is different but my LO is 6 weeks tomorrow and gave me a 7.5 hour stretch the last two nights. Of course, I had to get up and pump a couple of times and check to see if she was still breathing...
OMG yes please. Yes yes yes please. That sounds beautiful. I know that theoretically it probably does have to get better, but my heart doesn't really believe that.

DS is 5 weeks tomorrow, slept from 11:15 pm to 6:30 this morning, ate real quick and slept again until 8:30. I couldn't believe it. I slept the whole time too and woke up with huge leaky boulders, but holy crap it was amazing. I fully expect to wake up 2 to 3 times tonight. Rare nights like that give me hope for the future.
@SEK1114 and @PintoBean77 ... Share your baby sleep secrets, please! Are they up all day during the day? Do you have some sort of routine established?

I'm so jealous of you guys with the loooong stretches. LO took like a four hour nap from which she would not be woken from 2-6, then was little miss cranky pants and I suspect tonight isn't going to be a good one.

I wish I knew! However I have attempted to repeat yesterday in hopes of similar results. No, he naps throughout the day, but does have a few long awake stretches during the day. I was talking to a friend yesterday who had her 2nd DD same day as I had DS. I told her about DS and his multiple MOTN feedings. She told me she makes sure her baby gets at least 3 oz (pumped BM) between 10 and 11 pm and then she sleeps until 4 am usually, feeds then asleep until 8 am. So I did the same last night starting at 10 pm (my guy takes about 4oz), he stayed awake after, I played with him for a bit, swaddled him then put him on the boob at 11:10 and he snacked then was out. Next thing I know DH's alarm is going off. Oh, plus wizardry.

My DS is 6w5d and I am lucky to get 4 hour stretches . He's so unpredictable. Yesterday wide awake for two three hour chucks during the day ... Today slept all day. Tonight is gonna be a nightmare.
We woke LO up to eat and I pray we didn't make a mistake, but I was dripping and needed relief. Plan is to be in bed by midnight and sleep for at least 4 hours. Fx this works.
well my hopes of letting lo sleep longer than 3hrs at night were dashed at the docs today. She has great weight gain but the doc still wants me waking her to feed bc she still is small (despite awesome weight gain) until our next appointment... which is her 4mo apt... in DECEMBER. So all of you wishing for longer stretches of sleep.. I feel you and will continue to feel you
@Monicavickery big ((hugs)) momma. I'm in the same boat with the PP 6w and still rockin hardcore hormonal freak outs and being overwhelmed. This is my first and one day it's pure bliss and perfection the next the worst nightmare and nothing is right. And I've found no advice that ever sticks. So most of the time I throw my hands in the air and say fuck it. Fuck my messy house, fuck these tears, fuck sitting home all day alone, fuck Ebola, fuck keeping track of if I'm sleeping, fuckity fuck fuck. (Pardon the language but it's the best word in the world right now)
Just keep venting on this forum because it helps me a ton. Getting the words out somewhere and reading other mommas whether good bad or fucking ugly. It's all honest. We are moms and fuck it, perfect to the core because we made perfect little angels.
@JustCricket we have our 1 month checkup this morning, and, because LO is gaining but seems to be gaining on the lower end, my biggest dear is the pedi will tell me to wake him to eat more often. He doesn't really go more than a few hours in between feedings anyways, but when he does sleep for 4 hours straight it's amazing.
Re: MOTN Check-In
Also I don't understand why you eat more frequently at night than you do all day long. Wtf
