LOL she usually is but she has been having more and more "toddler-esque" moments lately. *sigh*
You are my mommy hero. I couldn't do it all day. 7-8 and 5-8 are hard enough on me.  On a related note, If I hear one more person tell me 3 is much worse than 2, I will seriously throat punch them.

  • I think I just found out more about the maternity leave that is offered through my job. They give me 33 days paid (required vacation and sick days) - so cool 6 weeks paid right?  WRONG. Apparently it is 33 calendar days (consecutive) so, they are making me take (and paying me?) for saturdays and sundays - but, I am a monthly salaried employee, and I really think that will not affect my monthly stipend. So, really like 4 weeks paid. I think I will be getting gypped. Lame.
  • @Trin42‌ I'm sorry that sucks. What did you eat before the test.

@musicgirl542 - that's crazy and I might have lost it if that was me.  I have told someone before that until he pays my car note and my car insurance he has no right to tell me when I should pull out in traffic (and get out of my f'ing face).

@ducktale - they told us at work that we were no longer allowed to have fans or heaters at our cubes because they were going to regulate the temp in the office and those were fire hazards.  Yesterday I told my boss that I was starting to undress and the scarf and shoes had come off first, but I wasn't responsible if a pregnant woman went into the president's office in her bra and underwear.

@psychobutthead - did you meet with your boss yet?  I know you were anxious this morning.

So, no joke - one of the nurses that sits on the other side of the cube wall from me just brought me a facemask, gloves and Airborne after hearing me talk about my work travel because of Ebola and all the other stuff going on.  All I could say is, "wow...you shouldn't have...really."
no same problem as normal cant get anyone in his oofice to answer the phone or my emails.
i think its about me missing three days this month which i talked to him about last month and asked if it was a priblen did i need to get some kind of priif from my obgyn he said no.
so yesterday i couldnt get a sub janitor to work at ny school when that happens my ladies just double up and do the area after lunch.
well the head custodian at a school next to mine took it upon her self to brin her crew to my school and clean it. she was then rude to teachers at my campus and mad mouthed my name the whole time.
so im sure she ran complaining aout me. which she had no reason to.

  • I am about to pick up Aidan. Hopefully he had a good day. They put him on a different plan to see if that helps, this way he has 4 chances in a day. Each time he starts back on green. I am so tired, trying to get motivated to walk up to his school.

    Still doesn't bug me.

  • @Maddscientist - that sounds like you ARE getting a raw deal. It can't be right for them to insist that weekends count as workdays.

I have a phone date with my HR rep in 10 minutes to find out more about how FLMA (government leave policy) works in my Office. I hope I don't have any unpleasant surprises in store.

Similar here, we have all kinds of bad ass infectious disease research in Seattle. In fact, a close friend is an infectious disease expert.  We've always joked that he's not welcome to visit when something breaks out in the country, in case he brings a surprise gift to the party. I'd like to think we're better prepared or at least should have quicker emergency response because of the expertise we have here.

Oh my god, these are things that I don't need to know! I have a real problem with that sort of filth. I'm feeling an anxiety attack coming on just imagining these incidents.

@-) I can't even imagine!!!! The girls' diapers have rather hard snap closures, so hopefully they won't be strong enough to pull them off and do anything like this (pee or poop), although Summer did stick her fingers down the back of her poopy diaper and squish some poop in her hand. Luckily I caught her before she could make an art project out of it!

  • wtf, a coworker that I don't know well just touched my belly in the hallway as I was scuttling to the restroom, also said "touch for luck" as she did it. I was obviously too preoccupied with my mission to defend myself. I feel molested.

  • <:-P YAAAAY for a 3 hr nap time for DS. <:-P \:D/ \:D/

So happy and envious at the same time! Despite running all around Fair Park and up/down steps to the Texas farm exhibit building, the minions haven't napped today. They did get a tiny cat nap in the car on the way home, but it was like 10 min.

Must. Kill. The Coworker! Honestly, this is how I feel whenever someone invades my personal space by rubbing and touching my stomach without permission.

  • Just got off the phone with our HR lady. I really liked her, I feel so much more clear about my Office's policy about FMLA/maternity leave. Basically, if I want to use Sick Leave after the first 6-8 wks after birth (the immediate recovery period), I will need to fill out a big form and get a doctor's signature. However, if I plan on using vacation time or leave without pay (LWOP), I do not need this form to be signed. I will still be protected for a total of 12 weeks after the birth of my child, as long as I do not try to use sick leave after the first 6-8 weeks.

She also clarified who exactly in my office above my direct supervisor is involved in knowing or granting my FMLA request. Short answer: upper management can KNOW about it, but do not get a say in APPROVAL of it. Only HR and my direct supervisor need to know any details. So last week, when my boss's boss randomly requested a copy of my maternity leave plan in writing: all he really gets to know is the tentative dates. He is not involved in knowing how exactly I plan on going about doing is, regarding sick, annual, or leave without pay. So he can just back off.

I still hate the US way dealing with family leave, but at least it's a little more clear now.
