Yeah, they can be annoying. (I am very pro-nursing.)
BUT, I admit I take as much as I can get. Why? To give it to the food bank. So many moms water down formula to a terrifying degree when they are poor. And the babies truly suffer. So let's get smart and let Nestle, Similac, Enfamil, etc help these families out. Grab any samples you can... sign up online... and donate it all.
(Of course, I wish these low income moms would BF, but when they won't for whatever reason, I still think the babies deserve to have as much access to what they need.)
Also... when you do get samples, they always have coupons and cheques with them. I tape them to the top of the can so the moms can save a little when they need to buy more.

This is a GREAT idea!!! I'm going to do this for our local children's home. They have 65 babies under 6 months of age in foster care right now. Of course those babies are not being breastfed because 1) They were abandoned by their mother, 2) They were taken away from their mother. I'm sure these formula samples would be welcomed.

I am sure they would be thrilled with the samples.
So I randomly enter this Facebook sweepstake for my local hair salon last week. All you have to do is "like" and "share". So I do. Turns out my out of province aunt sees my "share" and also does it. Well it turns out she won! And because she's like waaaaay outta province she called the salon and bequeathed the $75 gift certificate she won to me! And I even have an appointment already booked for this Friday! Score! Woot woot!
RE Thanksgiving outfits: I got a Carters onesie at Buy Buy Baby and they had about 10 different outfits to choose from. I ended up getting the "Gobble till you wobble" onesie and a cute matching bow for her hair. You can also order directly from the Carters website but I don't see as many options there.
@Lilwatz--she's adorable!! Congratulations on going home today
@JamieK1882--I hope you got a seat. I'd totally hover and glare until someone got up and let me sit down. And there's no way that H would have a seat while I was standing.
I had my first classroom observation yesterday, and it only lasted about 20 minutes (scheduled for an hour). I figure I either did a great job, or I'm about to be fired. I have one more tomorrow (which comes with student surveys), and then a 2 week wait to get my results. I'm glad the one yesterday was short--I was in pain and wanted to sit down, but didn't want the dean to think all I did was sit in lab!
ETA: @bethas--thanks for reminding me that I have laundry in the dryer from Sunday! I should probably fold that.
@mander82 how did it go looking at the Forrester today? What did DH think or did you not go? I wasn't on all day so I'm not sure if I missed it somewhere.
So went for my second growth scan and first NST. At first LO wasn't cooperating with the NST.. Think munchkin was too tired and not moving enough which makes sense since LO was barely moving in the scan.. Was just chilling there with a little arm over the head lol. They gave me some cold water and that did the trick.. NST was perfect and so was the scan. Looks like LO gained 1 1/2 lbs in 2 weeks... up to 5 1/2lbs.. I start going weekly now.. They told me next time try to eat right before I go.

@Autumnsnow That's the outfit I wanted to get for LO! I too loved the pants. Might check to see if they have it in store, but if not this is the one i'll probably be ordering.
AW moment... H got his first paycheck from this job today (postdated for Friday, of course). He is so excited and I am so proud of him. There is something about seeing your name the "pay to the order of" line on a company check. I think it's finally sinking in for him that he is finally able to provide for his family and it's awesome to watch!!
This makes me so happy for him AND you!! It was such a long journey and now you're seeing the reward!! >:D<

In a totally unrelated topic I used DH's trimmer for my lady parts today. It was hilarious and awkward but I think I got it all tidied up. I have an OB appointment tomorrow and I don't want to look like a Sasquatch. Is it bad that I tidied up for my doctor and not DH?
Our thanksgiving is over but I thank you all for reminding me that I wanted to get some matching christmas pj's for DS and the baby... it is surprisingly hard to find the same pj's in both Newborn and 24 months, but I just found these on the Carters website.... and ordered!!! Yay!
I always do matching Christmas jammies for my kids, and for future reference, I've had great luck at Kohls with all different sizes.
@AnnieRoo13 I could write that same post. I only think about maintaining that area before an appt and I also steal DH's clippers- quickest and easiest
Parker finally got a job. Whoop whoop! I was starting to freak out. I was just in the hospital for 3 days and everything that will have to be payed for when baby gets here! And my car insurance was just raised to 385. Ugh
It wasn't until a few days ago that I noticed how much my feet have swollen and how chubby my cheeks are. Pregancy has definitely hit!
Finally caught up after a 12 hour shift today. Only one more week of work and then I'm done until February!! So happy just thinking about it.
Work is throwing me a baby shower tomorrow. I have mixed feelings about this because of the drama that happened at my family shower. It was bittersweet. Im praying tomorrow goes smoothly without any hurt feelings or drama. I am so blessed they are doing this for me, I just don't want to ruin it or taint it with my negative family shower experience. I'm totally overthinking this, right?? It's two hours at a cute Mexican restaurant. How crazy could it get, really?
@Lilwatz - LOVE the pics of Baby girl. She is beautiful.
Now I'm off to find LO a thanksgiving outfit. My EDD is 11/16 so he should be here before Thanksgiving, right? Also, I need something for Christmas too. What size do I order? Agh! The pressure! Lol

It's twin girls!! Born on 11-2-14!
Saw this and laughed so hard. Although I never had hemis or BF'd, I can vouch that the rest is completely accurate.
