Re: N14 Twins Check In (10/13)
Hope everyone else is doing well!
I have a growth scan w/ the high risk OB tomorrow. Curious if the babies have flipped at all. Last scan, Baby A was head down, and Baby B was transverse. This left things up in the air in terms of natural vs. c-section birth. I'm pretty anxious about not having a "plan", but I trust that the doctors/hospital will help me figure out the safest option.
Aside from that, I'm sure everyone can relate to feeling like they are lugging around a couple of bowling balls. My back is done, and I'm getting maybe 3-4 hours of sleep these days. I know it'll all be worth it very soon though.
QOTW- I don't know how much of a talent this is, but I'm pretty good at playing bartender. Mixed drink concoctions are my speciality. I've also home brewed beer for DH. Can you tell what's on my mind?
It's twin girls!! Born on 11-2-14!
QOTW: I don't have anything specifically now, but when I was little I was a natural at gymnastics. I was also pretty good at soccer.
How are you feeling? What's on your mind? Give us an update!
Tired! Babies are huge 6lbs7oz & 6lbs13oz. Dr is happy. Feel like all I do is drs visits. Have to go to NST scan 2x a week plus an ultrasound. I'm doing acupuncture 2x a week too for my blood pressure, asthma etc
Finally done with work. Also finally no longer have workers at our house!!! Have a 3 page todo list which I'm finally able to attempt to slog through. Been pretty productive We hired a night doula to help for awhile seeing as we have no family around. Finalized a pediatrician. Babies' room is finally looking more like a nursery than a storage area. Bag is packed and in the car. My personal minimum date goal has been to get to Saturday which is 36w. Dr said my CS date will be 11/4. Holy crap ladies we are almost there.
Aside from growing twins, what's your special talent?
Usually bargain shopping. I'm really good at finding the deal and not paying retail.
Right now my special talent is not killing everyone who says something stupid to me and the ability to walk around everything I drop in a day.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Feeling ok, the pelvic pain everyone is describing is the same thing for me. Can hardly walk for long distances, most times I'm just dragging lol
Today is my 2nd yr anniversary but unfortunately my maternity leave has me away from my husband until it's time for the girls to come. I miss him but I know he's working hard at home and we will be together soon.
My belly has been doing some crazy abnormal shifts and movements so I'm pretty much banking that at least one of the girls changed position AGAIN! My appt is later this week so will update at next check in. Curious to see how my cervix is doing as well in terms of cm.
I decided to do a final photo shoot and birthday shoot for my son at JCP tomorrow. Praying it's a smooth process.
Other than that I've been eating and eating and eating so I expect to hear good news from doctor on progress made.
I'm so jelly @erinwithtwins you got some good weight there for your babies but I'm sure you are also suffering worse pelvic pain from the weight. Healthy weight is a good thing tho! Wishing you well

I'm great at decorating, planning events and design and I can fold my tongue in half without using my teeth to hold it down
Once hooked up to the monitors, it became clear that I was having contractions. They wouldn't let me eat or drink, in case I ended up delivering that night. At one point, the contractions were 3-5 minutes apart, and I was definitely feeling them.
Luckily, after a boat load of iv fluids, they calmed down, and I was finally sent home.
I can take a hint. I stopped working on Friday, and have spent more time than not horizontal.
Today was my next milestone- 35w! I have a growth scan & ob visit on Friday, complete with cervical check, tdap, and GBS swab. It's gonna be a fun one
I'm looking forward to it, because B had been breech for almost the whole time, but before being released from L&D they did a quick u/s and thought that both were vertex. I am curious to see if they are right!
I am writing to you from my hospital bed because Ella and Sadie made a surprise arrival last night. Contractions started at 5 pm and they were born before 11 pm. It was a whirlwind!
Both girls are doing beautifully and I am feeling ok after my repeat c-section. Having two babies to take care of has been interesting since DS was a singleton. Tandem feeding and trying to get things done with both hands full has been a source of major hilarity for DH and me!
Just wanted to say a quick hello and give my weekly update! Keep it up, mamas! You are all almost there!

@absolutelymaybe- I feel like I'm in the same boat that you are- I had come to terms with having a c-section, but now the idea of delivering then vaginally is going to be tough to wrap my head around!
N14 Nov. Siggy: CELEBRATION!
But the idea terrifies me- not just the actual delivery, but the possibility of the dreaded double whammy.
I feel like I will give it a shot, though. It's just funny that I spent 8 months adjusting to the idea of NOT trying for vaginal only to have the game change at this point!

@lisalynnmama Congratulations! ! So excited for you
@zamboni00 that's so scary!!! Glad you are OK and babies are hanging IN there!
I am feeling blah.... Just ready for this pregnancy to be over with. I have so much to do, but between my 5 hospital/doctors visits a week and not being able to breath while moving not to much is getting done.
So my week so far, I get a call first thing Monday morning saying my fluid levels are low for both sacs I need to get to the hospital as soon as I can for fluid checks and NST. As I mentioned last week FI and I found a house and we are in the process of doing all the paperwork and stuff. So Monday we were on a time sensitive deadline to get some paperwork signed and faxed to his union. Totally not expecting a trip to the hosp, so we get there. Babies fluids are checked same numbers as last week. The tech says that the numbers are great. So I am totally confused, like why am I here then??? She then gives me an attitude and says ugh I guess the doctor will have to explain so it makes more sense to you.. Ummm what???? So the doctor comes in and surprise surprise someone put the numbers from last weeks scan in the wrong box???? Like how does that even happen??!!!! So that is what caused all this alarm. But I am like this was last Tuesday, it is now almost a week later. Imagine if the fluid was actually really low. Then I am waiting 2 hours to get the NST finally get in there and babies won't cooperate. So then back to u/s for a BPP which watches the babies for moving and breathing. So we get on the u/s and the tech starts saying OMG baby B isn't moving or breathing. I am like what!!!!! He was 3 hours ago during the fluid check. So I start freaking out. Then he starts moving(thankfully) the tech is like oh good they are fine, you can go.. At this point we have been there 7 hours and have a half hour to make our house deadline. Which we literally sent the paperwork in at exactly the hour it was due. I told my FI at this poking overly more confident delivering in the backyard. I had a DR appt yesterday and my first cervical check not dialated but my cervix is soft. Dr said if baby was head down I could be in labor already
No special talents here lol
@lisalynnmama Congratulations!!!!
@tiersa_smith Happy Anniversary a little late!!!!
@zamboni00 That is super scary, I a always nervous about falling!! Glad to hear everything ok and you are taking it easy.....

N14 Nov. Siggy: CELEBRATION!
I had my doctor visit today and although I gained 8 lbs in 2 weeks which was what my doctor was pushing for, I had higher than normal pressure and protein in my urine which is equating to what might be preeclampsia. I don't have any contractions or pain or bleeding.
They admitted me today and have me under 24 hour pressure and urine monitoring. They have also ordered steroids to speed up the babies lung development. He says if the pressure and ruins samples don't improve I'll be in c section surgery as early as tomorrow evening. My girls Lyric and Brooklyn are measuring 4 lbs 12 oz each according to ultrasound and doing well on their activity sheet. Please pray for them and me. I'm feeling very nervous as we are 2 weeks shy of 36 weeks where they call fully developed. Appreciate the prayers. My husband will try to fly out here in the morning. Will keep you guys posted.
