@CPM13@ktibbits1 - I'm pretty sure what's going on at my office is that the doctor started his own practice (a few years ago..before my BFP I was a gyno patient there) and it's expanded to the point where he's overwhelmed and that's showing in his care. He's bringing in outside doctors to help w/ the workload, but still doing all the deliveries himself (so thankfully, insensitive doctor won't be delivering the twins).
At this point, I'm just going to suck it up and see the insensitive doctor because I hope I will at least get her full attention during the appointment and it's not like I'll likely be seeing her again (said that before, I know, but I am at the end here). BUT this time I am miserable and full of all kinds of pregnancy rage, so I might not be as understanding if she lets any "unnatural" comments slip.

TTC since 2011
Aug. - Sept. 2013 - dIUIs = BFNs
January 2014 - IVF = 3 freezer babies
March 2014 - FET of AA and AB blast = BFP! Twins!
Nov. 7, 2014 - Wilhelmina "Willa" Suzanne (4lb 14oz) and Ari Jose (6lb 4oz) were born via CS
@absolutelymaybe I would DEFINITELY not let any sort of bullsh*t unnatural comment fly. That goes beyond bad bedside manner and into solid ignorance. But at least your dr will be delivering! That's a relief.
Very unfortunate he's basically letting money (more patients) affect his standard of care. Hope insensitive doc is smart enough not to mess with a super preggo lady this time around, or else she's in for a healthy dose of perspective!
@absolutelymaybe I'm totally feeling stabby for you right now. Like you said, at 34 weeks pregnant you shouldn't be dealing with incompetency.
FWIW, at my 30 week growth scan my babies were also measuring over a pound off from each other. I was nervous, but my OB seemed to think everything checked out normal, and that they'd likely even out. He was right - by this week's scan (at 34 weeks), Baby B had caught up. I know everyone is different, but it seems things can change so fast with twins.
Crossing my fingers that your appt next week goes smoother. Keep us posted!
Lyric and Brooklyn arrived yesterday shortly after 3pm on October 17th. Brooklyn measured 4lbs 10 oz and Lyric measured 4lbs 3 ounces.
The girls were breathing on their own since birth and have eaten on their own so far at 1 oz and a half. They are in NICU as a precaution because they came at 34 weeks exactly but the nurse says their vitals are awesome and they past just about all their test so far so they will be out soon I pray.
The doctor decided to take them via c section because I was developing preeclampsia and with two girls sharing one placenta the risks of going any further didn't make sense. I was given two shots of steroids 24 hrs before to help lungs develop.
In terms of me I'm feeling fine. C section seemed way less stressful than the vaginal leading up to delivery of my son. I had no idea what was going on until I heard babies cry, that sure beat enduring contractions until the epidural comes. Will let you know the recovery difference. For now I'm forcing my self to move and getup and sit and lay so I can be mobile enough to take care of my girls.
Thanks everyone for the love: I'll be waiting for your announcements. @absolutelymaybe hope you have nothing but smooth sailing and nice medical professionals along the way! The last thing anyone needs on their journey to see their babies is mean spirited people. Just hold on to what's important and that's you and those beautiful babies. Love you guys!'
Just saw your post. Are they having you do NST monitoring yet? We have a half lb difference right now but MFM isn't concerned at all. At this point he cares about fluids and NST and that's it. Might be because I hit 36weeks.
Hope everything goes well next week!!
Kudos to you for not punching that dr in the face!!! I personally would lose it on my or any dr if he made any comments about ivf being less natural or more complicated and tell him to get some education. In my case it's actually WAY healthier as we did genetic testing on the embryos to make sure they had no disorders before putting them in. He's an asshat!!
Wish I knew how to post funny gifs from my iPad :P
@erinwithtwins - No NST monitoring yet. I just turned 34 weeks and my next appointment will be when I am turning 35 weeks. We do an ultrasound with every visit and check fluids and what not. He mentioned something to the scheduler that this would be a "30-minute ultrasound" and usually they're quicker than that. Not sure if that means it will be something different, but I do know they will be checking growth.
Yeah, I was kind of taken aback with that doctor that she said that. I mean, here I am with a freaking twin pregnancy and the ONLY issue I'd had was anemia. Tell me again how my "unnatural" pregnancy has more issues than a "natural" one? Also found out something interesting at my baby shower yesterday, the insensitive doctor was actually the one who delivered my husband's little sister. Apparently she was called in because she handled high-risk pregnancies. MIL didn't have to deal with her for very long (she went into labor early) but said she was "a little off." Glad she will not be delivering my twins.

The longer u/s have been growth ones for us. We started NST at 34 weeks twice a week. Fair warning they can take FOREVER. As in hrs. Like 2.5-3.
My tip on that...
I now have the NST set for the same day as my weekly US and have them do the US first!! We mark my belly where the heartbeats are so when I go to the NST at the hospital they know where the heartbeats are. Has dropped it down to about an hr-90min lol. But my babies still move all the time. B still hasn't been in the same position twice. They literally taped the monitor to my belly because he kept kicking it off when it was in the belt lol.
Need to look at karate classes for him.
That dr needs to GO!!! Good luck at your next appt
