Best purchase?

Hi ladies! I was just thinking out of everything we bought for my daughter, the best purchase so far has been this portable sound machine pictured(hopefully) below. She will be screaming, and that sucker will put her to sleep! It got me wondering.....what has been the best purchase so far for your lo?

Re: Best purchase?

  • Ds loves his vibrating chair also his swaddles!
  • Loading the player...
  • It's a toss up between the bouncer and the swing. :-) she loves both.
  • Absolutely the A&A swaddle blankets. Those allow me to get 4ish hours of sleep every night. My boy loves when I wrap him like a burrito.
  • Our 2 Rock N Play's, definitely.  We bought them 2nd-hand on Craigslist and a consignment store when the babies were 3 weeks old.  It's nice to have somewhere to "park" the babies when you need a free hand during the day.

  • The baby swing. That thing does wonders!
  • My nursing pillow is an absolute must have for me.
  • Ergo carrier with infant insert!
  • It's a toss up between A&A swaddles, swing and ergo baby w/insert. Those definitely get the most use

  • Ergo carrier, a&a swaddles, gripe water, and (very unexpectedly) a Moses basket.

  • I see a lot of people have Ergo as their favorite item. I just recently bought the Ergo Performance and it seems so bulky! Is there another type that everyone has? I just don't see what's so great about it! Please enlighten me so I can justify that very expensive purchase!
  • Hands down the swing which also vibrates. A close second would be the Swaddle Me velcro swaddlers.

  • Also the rock n play, combined with the velcro swaddleme which has her sleeping longer at night (5hrs last night! ). I'm anxious to use the ergo but I'm waiting until her neck is stronger first

I have the original. Love it. Use it everyday to get out of the house and get stuff done because he sleeps in it like a dream. It's too bad I can't walk and wear him while I sleep.

  • My Velcro swaddlers and my boppy :) I think I would die without either one

Hands free pumping bra and the boppy.

Forgot about the hands free pumping bra - that's a big need. Couldn't be without it.

Also I'll add that I'm really glad we have as many hats as we do. He is always in a hat, often two a day.

  • Ergo and infant insert...how else could I keep up with my toddler?

I also have the Performance and I think it's actually less bulky than the original. It will seem much less bulky when LO is bigger and you don't need the insert anymore :)

  • Swing- he spends the majority of the day in there before going up to his crib for the night.

Also, halo sleep sacks b/c they are awesome and easy for swaddling.

  • The swing and the RNP.

  • Oh I forgot to mention her playmat. It's absolutely a joy to watch hey light up when she sees and hears the colorful hanging toys. It also makes tummy time more fun and tolerable for her too

  • My last minute hard sale purchase of a breast friend pillow for $1!! So much better right now than my boppy. I also love our swaddle blanket from momsoncall. It's flanel and keeps her from breaking loose like the a&a blankets. The noise machine is a must have for naps and sleeping. My other favorite is the bassinet that goes with our stroller. It's so much better than having to use the infant car seat for walks etc.

  • Boopy, pack n play with changer and bassinet, and swing. I use all three everyday and don't know what I would do without them.
  • Well, they weren't new purchases, but I love my Ergo, RnP, and Miracle Blankets again with this baby.

My favorite new purchase was my diaper bag, the JuJuBe BFF. Best splurge ever.

  • Love my k'tan wrap, muslin swaddling blankets, and nursing sports bras (I haven't bought normal nursing bras yet but I am loving these).

  • My Moby from my last pregnancy and the pacifiers that my toddler promptly stole and lost the first night I had them. But hey it worked great that one night
  • @kateronium OMG yes!! I feel like I buy DD1 pacifiers every time I'm at the store. Why why why does she need LOs pacifier? They even look different bc LO likes soothies!!

My RnP, my Moby from last time has been a huge help (two free hands, and hidden baby!!) and my belly band (still helping me keep my pants up after all this time!! Pants that are too big or that I can't quite button yet.)
  • @str13 I know!! And she always swipes the pluggies (that I just bought) when I'm not paying attention and then she doesn't even want to suck on them she just hides them. I'm sure months from now I'll find a massive pluggie stash in like a drawer or under my dresser or something...
Forgot to add my boppy to the list. I freaking love that pillow. Its so multi purpose.
  • So far, A&A swaddlers and the Sleep Sheep (noise machine). RNP is earning its place too, I kind of wish we had a second one to keep one upstairs and one downstairs.

  • The Moby saves me everyday. LO passes out after the first block. It's great for keeping him hidden from the sun/wind/germy strangers. Tonight I had to BF outside of Trader Joe's and it was pretty easy to stay covered up with the Moby. I just wish it wasn't so hot to wear. I'm sure I'll be grateful for that in the winter but this heat wave we're having is not awesome with the Moby.

The knock-off A+A swaddler blankets I got at Marshsls are awesome as well. MH can really get a tight swaddle out of them and baby loves it.
  • Definitely the rock n play and the a and a swaddle blankets.

  • swing and the k'tan wrap

  • Moby wrap has been great for taking the little guy out and about, the newborn swaddle sacks (zippers instead of velcro) were lifesavers for the first few weeks at home, my Brest friend (I have the boppy but don't use it now). We got a rock n play yesterday and so far so good but its still early.
  • I have the Ergo original carrier and it has been a God send! Also, DD can't live without her muslin swaddle blankets. She hates the heavy/softer blankets, I think because she is almost always warm. I feel like people are looking at me like I have her way under-dressed but she always so hot, and she get heat rashes even in cool weather.

On the flip side, I wish I had realized how much easier a little cosleeping would make my life, and had seen that there are pack n plays that have a cosleeper rather than a traditional bassinet feature. I love my bassinet, it is beautiful, but I would like more than 2 hours of consecutive sleep!
  • Swing, Halo swaddles and the Boppy lounger. He naps in the lounger a lot and I can pick it up and carry him around up and downstairs so I can get more stuff done.
Oh and the pnp w/napper and changer. It's set up in our living room and gets a ton of use, plus able to store a crap ton in it.

  • Boppy Newborn Lounger! Amazing! I use it more than the boppy...LO takes naps in it all the time. Best purchase considering my kid has yet to like either of the 2 swings we have or vibrating chair. Sigh.
