Just to be completely clear, a Co-Mod, even yesterday, wouldn't have been able to do anything different than I did, other than to simply say, "I hear you, I'm working on it" (that's where I failed you all and I'm sorry for that) before going through the same channels I had to go through. Why? Because the bottom line regarding that entire post is that @andrewsgal posting information from a PM the way she did in that post is against the TOU and that WOULD HAVE been her 5th warning, which equals banning.
Had I or a Co-Mod taken that action, which would've been required of us, NO explanation would've been given to any of you because that's against TOU as a Moderator as well.
What would've happened was you all would've seen that post disappear, @andrewsgal would've been banned, and anyone asking why would've been told "it's none of your business why a user receives a warning or a ban". I'm not joking, that's per Bump Jackie.
However, because I hadn't heard from @andrewsgal in weeks regarding other matters thus I had no way of knowing if she even knew she was so close to a ban, I wasn't willing to not have a conversation with her, the other Mods and Bump Jackie first. Because I took the time to get clarification, I also discovered some of her warnings should NOT have been counted against her and all was cleared up. I went above and beyond, completely out of my way, to ensure I wasn't abusing my Mod powers - as Mods are accused of all the time - to protect @andrewsgal from unfair banning, and to be certain I wasn't a rogue Mod: I had collaborated with other Mods and Bump Jackie as we are TOLD to do before acting and that took my entire morning. Things don't happen quickly when you are doing it correctly.
@scatteredtrees - yes, my post comes across accusatory because, as I've stated, my feelings are hurt and more importantly because this is not how Co-Mods are assigned. Emotions are high amongst ALL Mods right now because so many have lost their shit, gone rogue, been accused of abuse, been removed (like Alicia and Jalara) and we are ALL looking over our shoulders. Why? Because we care and we do this for FREE so it really fucking sucks when it appears other Bumpies are questioning you or don't think you are doing a good enough job. That's just it. You don't have to agree, you all can think I'm over-reacting but that's how I feel.
@notkateanymore - I was one of the original that started this board and have always been deeply involved. Just because there haven't been a ton of posts that interest me enough to reply, doesn't mean I'm not a part of this board. How can you say that? And what do you want from me? To get involved in the bickering just to later be blamed for playing favorites and have "mod abuse" thrown in my face?!? I have tons of PMs, emails and posts from many of you saying the way I moderate is damn near perfect. You can't have it both ways. You can't have a Mod that gets too deep and is still respected as being unbiased and fair. I am a huge part of this board. I'm the reason why Alicia was removed, why posts aren't locked constantly, why warnings aren't given for every curse word that's flung around, why some of you weren't banned because of your activity on other boards... how much bigger a part of this board can I be for you?
Any why now are the two of you upset that I brought on a Co-Mod without asking you first? Three years ago, that's how it was done - you made a request to Bump Jackie, she asked around and a Mod was assigned. Things change, Bump Jackie lets boards hosts polls now so that's what you all are doing. I had no idea, nor did anyone else, that Alicia-gate was going to go down the way it did. Great Mods go up in flames some times, no one can predict that. It's not at all fair for you to now blame me as if I went behind your back to get a Co-Mod. I was following Bump procedure. I realize you can't know all that but it is what it is.
I really hope being this transparent, I've answered all your questions but honestly, I hope you all will at least TRY to understand what was really going down yesterday.
Thank you for supporting me and saying such nice things, I enjoy being the Mod here. This is MY "home" board, too and it makes me feel great to be able to help make this a great community. Things aren't always easy or perfect but I do it because I enjoy it and get a lot out of it.

The Mods are constantly discussing this very thing - the TOU are too vague and we ask for clarification before we do anything, all day every day, which is why there isn't always an immediate reaction from me.

Maybe she should have been told that the other times she stepped in.
First, do you have a link to a specific post you are referring to at all that I can take a look at, so I have a clear understand of what you are trying to get at?
Second, It also says:
If for any reason you are suspected of being malicious towards a user or group, there will be consequences that may eventually, if not automatically, lead to banning from the community.
The Bump administrators and volunteer moderators reserve the right to remove anything or any user we deem inappropriate or malicious at our own discretion.
This is what makes being a Mod difficult - it still leaves everything up to MY discretion based on several factors: the poster that posted the allegedly malicious information/opinion, their history on the board, their effect on other posters and the general board culture. Not only that but I have to decide what exactly is malicious. I'm not a lawyer so I go off the board's reaction and 99% of the time, follow-up replies to a poster like this puts that user back in their place and we all move on. The Bump states that the best Mods are those that let the board self-govern.
If you all would comment IN the offensive post how exactly you feel it violates the TOU and I see a pattern of agreement, I'm more than happy to support you all and moderate accordingly. The Bump isn't a democracy; however, what this board wants is what I have always tried to provide.
