I guess mine is that I REALLY don't want to tell my coworkers about my pregnancy--mostly because I've already been asked directly and lied to a bunch of people about it. I have the overwhelming desire to prove them wrong, which clearly cannot happen. My life would be so much easier if I could stop trying to suck it in or pretend I'm not eating avery 5 minutes, but I'm really just being stubborn. I don't want to do it only because everyone wants me to. Like this guy:
My confession is I don't often bump from a regular computer and often don't see siggys but I'm on my laptop this morning and I've been on this thread for at least 5 minutes just watching @souptin 's pumpkin head man dance. I cannot stop watching...that guy is mesmerizing!
When my four year old doesn't like something I do I don't really give a crap. Yes. You can let your kids jump off of their bunk bed when you have them. Call me in 20 years and tell me how that works out. And no, you cannot have a pet baby hippo. But when she thinks something I did is cool, even the smallest thing like how I pressed the buttons on the microwave, I feel really proud of myself.
I was in such a rush this morning I grabbed a shirt and I am not 100% sure if it is clean. It smells fine and there no visible stains so I say it's a go...I just don't give a shit today...maybe tomorrow
I've already had it with the sex announcement threads being so gender stereotyped. Bows? Dresses? What if your daughter ends up liking short haircuts and cargo pants? She may end up liking bows, but maybe not. Stop pigeonholing your unborn child, you don't know them yet.
They may develop that way down the road but for the first year or two they are going to wear what you dress them in. I'm certainly not going to dress my children in completely gender neutral clothing until they develop a preference.

How about I raise my children how I see fit and you worry about your own?

Now I kind of want a pet baby hippo.
This is an old Canadian PSA that you MUST watch Clicky
This is amazing. Now I definitely need one. What better way to use up my dryer lint and bits of old string??

Right? This is not a fail. That guy is a Halloween WIN!
My confession is that I'm so annoyed with my boss. Let's be honest, this is really more of a vent. I came to the home office (I work remotely about 6 hours away so I've been in a hotel all week) for training as I just got promoted and took on a ton more responsibility/risk. I had about an hour on Monday with her, 5 minutes on Tuesday. Wednesday and today I'm stuck in corporate training. So yesterday, I'm thinking we are going to spend a lot of time going over things together. Nope, her kid is sick so she stays home.
I'm not mad at her for being home with a sick kid, but she was working all day, we couldn't have done a phone call? I'm just pissed that nothing was even scheduled and this just never felt like a priority. So when I get my ass handed to me over the next few weeks I'm just going to be bitter.
How about I raise my children how I see fit and you worry about your own?
I'm pretty sure FFFC stands for FLAME FREE Friday Confessions?
Not how it works. Sorry.
I get that (especially when posters are super offensive) but I don't get why it's still called FFFC, tbh. I'm not in here to shit rainbows or WK, just honestly curious.
To bait people into spilling the tea under the guise of a judgement-free environment. "Tell us your dirt so we can tear you to shreds" wouldn't be as effective.
I love it when people judge things that other parents do that don't agree with their personal beliefs. As though all parents should raise their children to one standard.
I'm certain I'm having a boy. When I get my anatomy scan Im gonna post PENIS PENIS PENIS. Or do you think anyone be upset by that?
I think posting a whole thread is unnecessary, but I am tempted to do the same
I always suggest that sex reveal parties need more penis glitter, bachelorette-party style.
Yeah! Everybody gets a goody bag with penis straws and penis candies. I'm doing this and putting it on Pinterest... Let's make it a thing.
This totally hit home, I had my mom and best friend convinced I was going to have piñatas in the shape of a vagina and penis and we were going to wack them with sticks and see which one glitter came out and that's what the sex of the baby is! They also believed I was going to decorate with inflatable penis'.
I keep having this split second where I think a poster's halloween fail is a pic of their family. Also, I have to keep reminding myself that @SharkFarts isn't actually Tina Fey.

Recovering from mitochondrial dysfunction and Addison's/possibly very severe adrenal burn out using food, medicine, and a large amount of garden therapy.
On the topic of child-style, there's a little boy I know who likes to wear his sister's flowery galoshes with a dragon cape. It's very kickass.
And for my flame worthy confession, I think it's fine to influence your kid's taste in clothes - you influence their other tastes too. Let them exercise their own choices, style, and personality, but within reasonable boundaries. For example, no daughter of mine will be wearing booby-baring tops or super short shorts as long as she lives in my house. Unacceptable.
I feel bad writing this because she is so sweet- my confession? Since being pregnant, a lot of things turn my stomach and induce my nausea and one of them is eating dinner with my MIL! She chews with her mouth open/talks while it's full of food and gets it all stuck in her front teeth. It's like a car accident.... I can't look away- yet I feel I could vomit or full out belly gag at any second. Yuk! Did I mention she's sweet?
As far as the bows and such, if this LO is a girl she'll probably have dresses and bows until she's big enough to express her preferences.
A friend recently had a little girl and gave me a bunch of "boy toys" like trains and trucks from her DS, saying the DD won't need them. I took them, but wondered why it mattered if her DD plays with trains. To each their own I guess, I just don't put that much emphasis on who should playing with which toys.
My first confession is that I have no idea what FFFC stands for. I get that the last two letters must stand for Friday Confessions but no idea what the first two F's stand for. Apparently they don't stand for Flame Free. My second confession is that I keep talking about how I'll have nothing to do once I finish work in a few weeks but secretly I'm a lazy bitch and I'm gonna love it.

I agree. I really don't see why which toys kids play with is such a big thing. My niece dresses up as Elsa and plays with tractors at the same time. I don't see a problem with that, I think it's awesome to be honest.

I thought for sure that was sarcasm- my ability to judge internet sarcasm must be off today.
My quote box thingy doesn't always work. Oh no I wasn't being sarcastic. I honestly didn't know what it stood for :-/

Probably but this is the first time I've ever come across this thread.

@scoutfinch13 I do get your point but I think what you wear is a matter of self-respect. You get to express how you view yourself. Sure, sexy has its place but there's a reason we don't wear fishnets to work. I want my daughters to see themselves as women with personalities, not as sex objects.

My daughter has dress up clothes and Iron Man/Captain America action figures. And if this child is a boy he can totally play with Barbies if it makes him happy...I honestly could care less
About dressing provacaitvely I agree with @Ncountrygal I could not let my daughter walk around in short shorts and too much cleavage. I am all about self-expression and embracing one's sexuality to an extent. I see ore-teen girls walking around in crazy short shorts and it makes me cringe every time...I'm taking it back to the "finger-tip rule" in my house.
I'm not a big lace and frills girl, but I know my MIL will be dying to buy all the girly shit. I respect her a lot and it will be a struggle between honoring MIL and the gifts she gives and dressing my daughter in things that I like (I know the point will be moot once the kid has its own opinions/preferences).
Mil and I have really different tastes. She watches dd 1x per week. Sometimes I cringe at her outfits. I've found myself buying an outfit I know she'd like just for her. Even though I thought I never would have put dd in it.
I agree that we (general "we," as a culture) need to do a better job of teaching our sons how to respect women no matter what they're wearing.
But we also can't deny that men are just wired differently than women. They are incredibly visual and usually have a higher sex drive than women. (Don't get me wrong - THIS DOES NOT MAKE RAPE OKAY.) While they can & should control their actions, they can't always control their thoughts or what they remember about a girl later. So part of the reason that I want my daughter to dress modestly is because it's being respectful of the men who don't want to have sexual thoughts toward her but can't help their thoughts because they are a visual man.

I'm having trouble with this, TBH.
By the same logic, why not just have your son wear a blindfold?
--------------quote fail---------------
Because wearing a blindfold in life isn't practical?
I'm not saying I judge other women for what they choose to wear. I'm just saying why I personally choose to dress modestly. And why I'd want my daughters to do the same.
ETA - I just think the situation goes both ways. We want our sons to be mindful of women and respect them. So why can't we encourage our daughters to do the same toward men?

Can we cop it up to a different approach to the same problem?
