I was one of the better female athletes at my high school and actually ended up running track at a division I school. I think everyone knew who I was but I don't think I would've labeled myself as popular. I didn't really have a lot of time outside of school and sports to have much of a social life.
Where did you run track? I was also a Division I athlete (for soccer); that is, until I got KU'ed my sophomore year ---------------------
I ran at Kansas for 2 years and ended up with a career ending injury. Where did you play soccer??
I grew up in a REALLY small town, there wasn't much room for "popularity." Everyone kind of took care of each other except for those 5 or so absolute weirdos. Everyone grew up together, was family or were really close family friends, there were only 23 people in my graduating class. I was a cheerleader, dancer, played volleyball, ran track and cross country, did FFA, Student Council, and 4-H, my sister and I joined just about everything we could.
