Ds has slept in the rock and play since Day 1. We swaddle him every night, thus we don't strap him in. At first he slept in our room and at 5 weeks we moved him to his room and we have a video monitor. He seems content in there and sleeps 10-12 hours a night. I can't seem him getting out of it anytime soon, but wondering what other Mom's are doing.
When do you plan on transitioning your LO from the rock and play to the crib? I'm thinking for both safety and easier of a transition. I'm afraid if we wait too long, it will be even harder, but I am really enjoying the sleep! (We tried at 6 weeks, but he got sick and we were told to have him sleep at an incline, so we moved him back to the rock and play. Plus, he started getting up two times a night.)
Re: When to stop using Rock and Play for Sleep?
I am exactly where you are now. DD loves the RnP and sleeps fantastic in it. I am afraid to do anything else. I am not sure how much they could move all swaddled up tight in it, but I get nervous to have her in it all night once she turns over and want
According to the rnp, they can safely be in them until 25 pounds or they start sitting up on their own. Even with LO strapped in they say once they can sit up on their own it's not safe due to tipping over.
