  • Nothing like waiting till 37 1/2 weeks, but the hospitol bag is packed!

We just got ours packed last night... I'm 39 weeks on Monday!
  • You guys don't even know how many times I have washed sheets over the past 4 days due to pee accidents.

Boys are always fun to change. When DS was a baby his uncle was changing him and tickling him, DS peed right in his face and into his hair.
It's like, even when I cover him, he just kicks it off and pees everywhere anyway.

  • Note to self: do not leave the house unless you are fully prepared to get numerous comments on belly size/shape/height from strangers. Ugh. I hate everyone. And my feet hurt now.

I hate that being pregnant suddenly allows strangers to talk to me. I feel as if I need a sign that says do not speak to me.

  • I want to eat all the food.. and I esp want a bill knapps chocolate cake.. which I will not get because bill knapps doesnt exist anymore.. also, I hate how because I am pregnant everything is BECAUSE im pregnant.. like the air conditioner is on the the nurses station because 'ashley is pregnant and having hot flashes' um no, you'll notice I have a jacket on at this time and someone else entirely turned it on.. also, its ok to eat at 1140 because 'you're pregnant, you can eat later too!' Bah.. one more 12 hour shift! I think I can I think I can!!!!!!!

I guess this is more of a vent than a random.
I have been in pre-labor/early labor (whatever you want to call it) for 4 days now. I'll have contractions for several hours at a time, but nothing closer together then 10 minutes. Then the contractions will fizzle away for several hours and come back. Super hip and back pain and, TMI, I can't tell you how much mucus I have lost. Just trying to keep busy and be patient but this is just dragging out. I wish it would just wait until time and hit all at once like with DD. I don't like this days on end waiting.

ETA: I want some cheez its so bad!

  • @MrsSinner402‌ re: pumping

I had horrible pain for days, but my doula sent me this link for how to manually express while pumping and the pain went away. I did this for a few times before I didn't need to anymore. It's a lifesaver. I also cut holes in a sports bra so I can be hands free, that helped too.

  • My parents are "threatening" to not come to the hospital because DH and I tried talking to them about our expectations in the future if we ask them to do something pertaining to our child.

This time they didn't get their shots enough in advance for them to have taken effect. We still plan on inviting them to the hospital because we really do want them there. But felt the conversation was necessary so they understand it's not ok to just dismiss our parenting choices.

I'm so crapped out and stressed by all of this I legitimately have only eaten a handful of grapes today and I'm normally all about the food. :(
  • Hooray for globs of mucus!! Yay cervix!!
  • So I tried these at my work baby shower the other day.

    Do it.

  • You know what really enrages me?! When businesses aren't open on Sunday. I only have the weekend to do stuff like get pedicures, so DH can watch DD. I'm mad. [-(

The county we live in has all non-essential stores closed on Sundays. So unless I only want food, I have to go to a different county to get stuff. I feel your pain.
That is terrible! What kind of a backwards rule is that??

  • I don't think what I'm doing today counts as nesting ...

    10 minutes to organize stuff
60 minutes to eat lunch and sit on the couch
10 minutes to clean the microwave
another long stretch of sitting on the couch, bumping
sweeping and swiffer wet-jetting my kitchen floor while popcorn pops
Back to sitting on the couch...

At least I'm getting some stuff done.

I am fortunate to have been on maternity leave starting last week, and still have two more weeks til my EDD. It has been nice because I have been able to do a few small things every day. Like today I cleaned out our fridge and pantry. Rest of the day is spent on the couch watching football. Really, it probably would have been too much time, but with my mom in the hospital that usually takes up 3-4 hours of my day between visiting her and cooking heart healthy meals to take to my dad.

  • Um, apparently they are going to remove the staples in my belly...there are staples in my belly! I just know it isn't going to be pleasant...

But so far so good for getting to go home today. Bit terrified of what that will look like with DD1, but excited to be out of this room.

What the? They did staples?! They just did stitches that desolve with fancy medical tape over them when I had my c-section. You shouldn't feel the staple removal. Fingers crossed for you!
  • DH made a final decision on a name! So I pocked up wooden letters at the store yesterday but I'm not sure what the best way is to get them onto the wall... any suggestions?

I used command strips. They have a sticky side that I stuck on the letter and then a velcro side that I connected to another strip's velcro side and attached the sticky side to the wall. Hopefully that makes sense. You can just pull the tab on the bottom if you want to take them down and it doesn't leave any marks on the wall.
  • Colts win!!!! I also want Chuck Paganos hat.

  • Shoot. I forgot to ask my doctor how long I can't drive for. Anyone know what standard is after a c section?

I think it's 6 weeks. Definitely not before your 2 week pp visit. You can always ask your dr then and they may let you depending on how you're feeling.

I would think it's probably the same as other open abdominal surgeries, which is about 2 weeks.  Basically, the requirement is that you have to be able to stop down on the brake pedal quickly and not hold back due to pain or have stitches/staples that are too fresh.
It was 2 weeks for me post-c/s for the reasons @crawford411 said.

With regard to staples, I also had staples for my c/s and with the exception of one last staple that was apparently sort of contorted, all were taken out on Day 3 by the nurse and Day 4 for the last one by my OB.

  • I'm talking induction planning at my appointment tomorrow.

I'm sure their approach will be cervidil by night and pit by day..but dammit cervix, I need you to be more favorable by the am!!

This is what they were talking about doing with me but instead are doing the opposite, I go in in the morning for pitocin then finish it with cervidil if need be.
    ---
Wow! I've never heard of that approach. I'll be curious to see your birth story/updates to see how that method pans out.
That seems strange. The cervidel should soften your cervix so that the pitocin can make you dilate. But...I'm not a dr.

I love arguing with the preteen over clothing. Also I love not having backup in said argument from DH. Then DD1 leaves to go somewhere with grandma and won't even say bye to me. I can feel the love guys. :-S

I totally understand what you are saying, although dh usually backs me up. I have the added problem that my mom takes her and buys her inappropriate clothes that she tells her are cute and then I have to be the bad guy.

Give me all the (regular, timeable) contractions. I'm so over being pregnant.

Sorry to break it to you but I think you have to beat like 41w3d or something for the board record, if that's what you are going for.

Haha! I'm not competitive enough to try to break that record. I'm ready to be done. I'll leave the record-breaking to you, Purp. ;)
I think the doctor's plan is 40w3d. I can't decide on an induction date, so I'm letting her pick it. I'm tired of over analyzing. I'd rather not be induced, but I don't think she wants me to go over the weekend past my due date. So. We are discussing Thursday.
