Hey Ladies,
My only worry is that it is too big. I know that diaper bags have to carry tons of stuff, I am just curious if this size is ok....
So, STM's and those ladies who have already bought or are researching diaper bags, what are your thoughts??
thanks!
Re: Diaper bag discussion
We do a lot of outdoor activities and I've found a big messenger bag or one shoulder strap (book bag) work perfect. One thing I look for is lots of pockets and compartments and that the bag is expandable.
Trust me, you will eventually care less if your diaper bag is color coordinated etc. I found my husband was also more apt to grab the book bag style bags versus a traditional diaper bag.
Bottom line is that bag will be your life line for outings for the next few years, lol. Pick what works for you and your family.
I agree with it not having to be an actual diaper bag. My brother just carried a large backpack.

For me, I like something that doesn't show too much dirt or can be wiped down. Also, I felt like carrying a bag that I didn't have the option of wearing on my back always got in the way or it would slip off of my shoulder. I went from a cute Coach bag, to a regular diaper bag, to a backpack. I might get a Petunia or something similar this time around because it is a little more girly than the North Face backpack I had been using. The North Face, Patagonia, other day packs are nice because they have lots of compartments. It's all about what works best for you.
I switched from our diaper bag to a messenger bag or over sized purse when DS was 6 though.
My husband LOVES Jeeps.
I am still dreaming of a Kate Spade Stevie. I have given it as a gift a couple of times and kind of selfishly am dropping hints that if I got one for Christmas.. That would be ok with me. I just want one that has some helpful pockets, but mostly big open space to throw bigger things.. Blanket/coat etc
Now that DS is 2 we have just switched to a skip hop backpack that he loves to carry.
I'll go back once baby is born to my lug bag.

Although I'm a minimalist and stop carrying a diaper bag at 6-9 months and just use once of my handbags with a big pouch for baby stuff and keep extra diapers and an outfit in the car.
