I secretly want to smack people that walk around all day with a bluetooth headpiece or headphones in their ears for no reason. No one calls THAT often anymore in the age of the text message. Living in NY we have an abundance of them. DH and I like to play a game called "Crazy or Bluetooth". It's tons of fun.
I hate it when doctors say, "You'll probably deliver this side of 40 weeks...probably 37-38 weeks." Mine said that last time and I got my hopes up and ended up delivering 40 +3. I think it makes the last few weeks even more miserable.
I'm pumping and will continue to do so but I don't want to breast feed at all. I keep getting told that's fine, it's your choice, but then get the dreaded side eye.
Agree....going to give it a shot but not hopeful about it. Pump at the ready!!!
I'm ready to be done being pregnant, but I hope baby is a tad late. My due date is Nov 8, my 1-year hire date for FMLA is Nov 11. I hope they say I can take vacation days to bridge the gap and still officially qualify for FMLA.

This happened to me last time too. My OB told me "you probably won't make it until your appointment next week" every week from my 37 week appointment until they induced me right at 40 weeks. It made those last 3 weeks so freaking long! Just don't say anything at all.
My UO is that I'm glad I'm working right up until I give birth. It makes me feel like I'm contributing something, even if I'm horribly run down by the end of the day.
I wish I could start pumping now so that I could build up my milk stash in the freezer!! I want to actually have so much milk I need to buy a separate compact freezer for all of it!! Pump Early Pump Often!
Noooooooooo.....now I'm craving Nutella and have none . It is my weakness and I love it.
I've never had Nutella :-S
This isn't okay.
Turbo waddle to the grocery store and get a bottle STAT. :x
lol I will try it soon. I think they have the single serve snack packs now. This may be a FFFC but I just bought peanut butter for the first time in probably 10 years because DH has been a pain about not having it in the house since we've been married. I just don't really do speads I guess
@aragosta - I'm not sure I agree 100% in all cases, but I'm definitely feeling that way about carrying twins. I would rather have them out by 38 weeks and in the hands of doctors than let them bake a little longer and worrying about something happening on the inside. I keep worrying my doctor is going to be lax on my cut off date and letting me go a few days past 38 weeks since I've been "doing so well" so far. I don't want to risk it!

My docs are telling me "week 37" because of the baby's size but also because diabetics tend to have placenta deterioration which can lead to bad things. I don't think they would put me or baby in danger, so I am OK delivering a little earlier than most.
Although if one more person asks me if my "due date" has changed yet, I will punch them in the tit. Due date is still 11/11, dumbasses. Just because they may delivery me early doesn't mean that baby will magically be 40 weeks.
@missnacholover - I've hated this question since we found out we were having two. People don't get that your due date and the day you deliver are not always the same thing, so it's always an explanation whenever people ask me. "Well, my due date is Nov. 28, but..." I've just started saying "I'm due in November" and hoping they leave it at that.

Add me to the camp that would prefer LO to be late! It's partially because I want him to develop as much as possible and all that, especially after having seen my nieces in the NICU due to being born at 34 weeks, but it's also because I selfishly want some time to myself. I'm due on November 9 and I work until October 31 and I'd like at least a week to go through cupboards, clean out the fridge, make freezer meals etc.
Oh- and I love Nutella. I can't buy it because I'll just eat it out of the jar with a spoon.

Exactly. Drives me bonkers. If the doctors decide that it's better for me to deliver at 37 weeks, that doesn't mean that baby is 40 weeks gestational age.
I'm getting highly annoyed at people (our parents and aunts) being up my ass about when it's going to be scheduled for. I'm so tempted to just not tell people and call when the baby is here.
My UO is that I have loved being pregnant this time around. Completely opposite of my first...but now I'm one of the crazy women who can't wait to be pregnant again. I never thought this would happen.
I think placenta is absolutely the coolest thing on earth.
Also, my batshit nutty friend was telling me that when you get a c section, they lay out all your organs on your body and you can feel the weight.
I don't care if that's true, but if it is, I kind of don't want to miss the opportunity to see all my own organs.
They cut just under where you stomach meets your outer vagina (sorry, can't remember the proper term). Plus the incision isn't big, just big enough to get the baby out with a little squeezing. I don't think they take your organs out. I never felt the 'weight of my organs'. I did feel all the pressure and pushing and pulling it took to get N out. It was uncomfortable but not painful.

The video we watched in my birth class (a simulation, not actual surgery) showed them taking the entire uterus out and lying it on her stomach.
I don't get the freezer meals obsession. It isn't 1950, my husband can prepare meals for a while just fine. I feel no obligation to "feed" him or have to worry about meals at all since I will basically be a walking breastfeeding zombie, that's more than enough for me thankyouverymuch.
I like the idea of freezer meals, but not because my husband can't feed himself (actually, his cooking has been waaaaaay better than mine as of lately). I think it would be helpful if neither one of us had to worry about dinner and could focus on the babies right after they are born.
(With that said, I am probably NOT doing freezer meals. Hey, I said I like the idea of them. I never said I had the ambition to put them together.)

That's not all your organs though. The uterus makes sense. They have to get the placenta out and do whatever in there so I imagine they would want to see the uterus better. I honestly don't know how many organs they take out but it would be seriously cool to see!

Ha! I never interpreted that as ALL my organs, because well, that would be ridiculous. I mean skin is an organ. How would you even lay your skin on your skin?

I'm looking forward to the freezer meals for my own belly - not for my husband's. He would be content with making sandwiches, a bowl of cereal, spaghetti or fast food for each meal. While I appreciate those things in moderation, I don't want that to be my dinner rotation.
I want this baby to come sooner rather than later. I'd be perfectly fine delivering at 36 weeks. There. I said it.
oh no, no you don't. They're much more at risk for things such as breathing issues, feeding issues, blood sugar issues, higher risk of jaundice among others. They are developing so much, especially neurologically, those last few weeks of pregnancy!
I know you'll hear someone say "well, I had my baby at such and such weeks and they're FINE!" but the vast majority will face some or many of the above things that I mentioned.
perhaps our NICU nurse can speak more to this. Paging @dmo1371
I'm not sure if you meant you want a 36 week baby, or if you're just tired of being pregnant, but @lissydee is definitely correct. 36 and 37 week babies (esp 36 weekers) are at an increased risk for everything mentioned above. The brain maturity difference between a 36 and 40 week baby is amazing. I wish I could find a better picture (like we have at work to show parents), but this one I googled gets the point across pretty well.
Honestly unless you have a reason to (ie in the case of @aragosta, medical/placental reasons, etc) it's really best if babies stay in until 39+ weeks. Personally, I'd be a little nervous even delivering at 37 weeks, especially with a boy. As a whole girls seem to fair better when born before term compared to boys.

I'm with you @Emnob28. Although I think I have a skewed opinion on this because DD was born early (35 +4) and was completely healthy. No NICU, just small. I (obviously) do not want him to come if he needs more time or if there would be complications, but I'm over being pregnant. The only thing I'll miss is feeling his kicks.
My neighbor works at a hospital, she works more with respitory patients, but she does deal with infants and premies too, when I told her I had enough, I am ready for him, she said that I want to make it to AT LEAST 37 weeks, she said anything prior to that almost ALWAYS ends up in the NICU.
My UO.....learning this is so very true with my car shopping. I prefer manual transmissions over automatic. I call automatics crapomatics, I do not like them. I want to shift my car!!!!

Um, ok? Passive aggressive much? I was just trying to let you know what I experienced with my csection while saying I absolutely have no idea how many organs they take out AND agreeing with you that it would be cool. But whateves.
R.e. Organs and c/s, it's mostly just your uterus that they take out. They do that to stitch it back up. Then the put it back in. If any other organs are coming out and being visualized then that's usually a bad thing.
Thank you! I figured you or dmo would know that one it's funny how you seriously feel none of that all while awake.

DH said when I had my CS he saw a silver bowl on me with (what he assumes to be) my intestines. He said they were a purplish color.
He wasn't grossed out by them, just interested - but of course he was even more interested in going to see DS.
I told him if I have to have a repeat CS, take a picture next time. I had NO idea what was where - just that baby was out and crying
I guess this is an UO - but I don't want to see my innards if I have a C-section. I'd like to be blissfully unaware that my uterus is outside of my body.

Me either! Except my husband would be all about it. When I was about to deliver DD, I reminded him that I knew he was very interested in all things body and science, but I might need to hold his hand from time to time as well, so don't forget about me, LOL!
On the topic of c-sections (and not at all a UO)... one of the only things I remember from my c-section was my OB telling someone in the operating room:
"See, those are what polycysytic ovaries look like."
LOL. So glad that is the memory I have of my child being born.
