I'm getting two molars pulled in less than 2 hours from now and I'm starting to freak out.  My roots are long and curved so it takes some time to work them out.  And they won't knock me out because...pregnant.

D is taking the day off to take care of me.  Usually I'm not a big baby, but today IDGAF.
Hugs to you. I got 2 molars pulled when I was pregnant with my son, and they didn't give me anything for the pain because pregnant. So, I had ice packs tied to my face on both sides, and tylenol. I hope that they give you something baby safe for pain!

    Yikes, that sounds awful!

My OB ok'd Hydrocodone, so I hope I can sleep off most of the pain.  And wake up to vanilla pudding.  Which I only seem to crave after dental work or post-surgery.

Ask them about clove. When I had my wisdom teeth out my bottom jaw was killing me for a while after. They had clove packs they could put in the holes. Apparently clove is a natural remedy for tooth mouth pain.
They had to do this with SO when he went back b/c he thought he had dry socket. He said it really helped a lot!
  • Goodness gracious, it feels like I haven't been in here FOREVER. 2 jobs plus open house this week is killing me. Glad to see everyone doing well! I got sent home today with a migraine. It's been awhile since I've dealt with one of those! Feeling mostly better now, just groggy. Anyways, not a pity party, just wanted to say hi!

  • So not wanting to work today in any way so I'm watching old reruns of Grey's. Also I feel like I have a huge bruise on my stomach under my rib cage. There is of course nothing there but it just really hurts.

I was convinced to apply for a big promotion at work and I don't know if I'm more scared to get it or not. It would be huge and amazing but moving from being the one doing things for the people responsible to the one being responsible... I don't know! Time will tell but yeah between that and my husband being miserable with his job right now it's a little stressful.

Good note my baby heartbeat monitor comes today! I can't wait to try it. I have been feeling so much better so of course I think something is wrong.

I second this. When I had dry sockets, they packed them with clove strips. It felt like they were packing it down to my hip at first, but the pain relief was amazing.
  • I remember my dentist telling me no straws too, because it can dislodge that clot.

Just got back to my desk after getting Panera drive-thru and they forgot my Pumpkin cookie...this is the only reason I went there. I didn't actually want a sandwich, I just ordered it as a ruse. This coupled with Tijuana Flats forgetting my side of guac yesterday and I could cry, ugh!

I actually would cry over that, I think it's definitely tear worthy

  • I asked this yesterday but no one responded so I'll try again: I'm panicking a bit because I just started really feeling my baby about three days ago but since then I've felt nothing and my PgaL brain is driving me berserk. I'm looking into getting a Doppler but for now I'm terrified that something has happened to my baby. I'm 17.5 weeks, has anyone else had this happen? Movement one day and nothing for days after? I can't remember how it was with my daughter

Sounds pretty normal to me. But the doppler certainly helps to alleviate any concerns. Although, I about had a heart attack last week because I couldn't find the HB for a full day.

My doctor is really good about alleviating concerns. Maybe see if they recommend you go in for a quick check?

Early on, movement can be pretty spotty. Baby is still super tiny at this point. Again, doppler has been my life-saver with all of my concerns.

Dr. Google is surprisingly reassuring in this case, and I think I read a Bump article on this last week stating not to worry at first because it can come and go. I'll try to find it if I get a chance today.

Hope you feel better about it, soon. I know it's super scary, especially when the PGAL brain kicks in.

  • @happymamax2‌ thank you so much for responding. I'm literally in tears right now I'm that worried, I just wish he or she would give me a little wiggle to let me know everything's ok. Ugh if I wasn't PgaL I don't think id be so worried because I never worried with dd but after all the losses I'm still trying to convince myself that this time is different. I've never wanted anything as much as I want this baby

Wtf. I just threw up for the very first time this pregnancy. I'm almost 15 weeks! : ( And I was just telling a friend earlier today that I've had virtually no morning sickness and hadn't thrown up once. So much for that!
This happened to me yesterday. WTF

  • @kellbell1982 I replied yesterday but maybe you didn't see my tag or it was too late. I think it's still too early to feel consistent movement at this point. I have days where I feel baby here and there and then days where I don't feel anything. I'm also PGAL and understand how you feel. If the doppler will help, I say go for it, but don't panic. It's too early to feel movement on a regular basis.

Found the article thingy on the bump. It's a lot shorter than I thought, but it's a good starting point to alleviate the fear, I hope.

  • Thank you to all who responded, I feel a lot better knowing that it's not unusual and that I'm not the only one. I thought after 12 weeks id be calm but no such luck lol I guess I'll always find a reason to worry even after the baby is born which I hope to God that it is

  • Realized today while going through my old pregnancy things (preterm @ 6 months; resulted in an angel) that this pregnancy is only about a week apart from my first. My due date last time was April 1, 2012 and this time it's March 23, 2015. Kinda freaky when I stopped to think about it but I'm choosing to believe that it's a sign.  So excited for steak & cheese subs tonight, I think I'm gonna make it an early dinner just so I can have some already!

  • @etoille‌ how old is your little guy? Mine is 21 months and had a short tv attention span forever. That was annoying because sometimes, like during cooking, I'd need him to sit in one spot. Now within the last couple weeks he suddenly will sit through a show and also ask me to put on the tv at other times too. I don't do it because I feel like he's now addicted to it, but at least I'm able to like cook in peace now.

  • And the drama at my office ensues..
  • @FrecklesInside Congrats on a boy! That's so exciting! I can't wait to find out in a couple of weeks.

TGIF...I had a ton of energy today but so did my kids, and my assistant was either in a coma or brain dead...I think I would have preferred that she just stay home than be there in whatever spaced-out mood she was in today. I seriously had to walk up and snap my fingers in front of her face a few times. She's very sweet and great with the kids but some days, I swear...

DH and I had a conversation about various baby-related topics last night (circumcision, birth plans, etc.) and so far we haven't found anything we disagree on...I keep waiting for something to pop up. I'm sure it will soon!

I wouldn't worry about constant movement this early on. I'm almost 16 weeks and I think I've felt baby once or twice, but this early it's pretty random. I know it's hard to not worry but Dr's start having you doing kick counts later in pregnancy when movement is more obvious and constant.
I've been feeling the same thing. I feel the baby mostly early in the morning, and then nothing the rest of the day. Drives me crazy. But they don't really start having you track movement until much much later because it can be so random.

This is going to be a crazy weekend for me. And I'm  exhausted from working so much and I think my body is trying to tell me to slow down because my wrists, fingers, and feet are already swollen, which didn't happen until MUCH later with my DD. And then it was only my feet and ankles. But I have a family event tonight, a bridal shower and bachelorette party tomorrow, a dress fitting for my bridesmaids gown and another family function on Sunday. I just want to sit and get caught up on my shows and hang out with my kiddo and dh. Sigh.

  • @frecklesinside How exciting! Congrats on the baby boy!
  • @kellbell1982‌ I felt movement one day last week and haven't felt anything since. I have a doppler and it definitely helps put my mind at ease.
  • @frecklesinside yay for boys! It will be such a fun adventure, I love having a boy so much! I would be fine with a house of 'em but am starting to get the "I really wannnnnnnt a girl" itch now that I am like 3 weeks away from finding out.

  • @FrecklesInside Congratulations on your baby boy!

@GoofyGoff Sorry about your dental work. That's just the worst. Sending positive vibes that it goes as smoothly and painlessly as possible.

  • @TheNetwork‌ Happy birthday and I hope things went well in court!

@lisap0924‌ That is amazing! I would have felt like a proud mama for sure! When I was still a band director, I had an autistic boy in my beginner trumpet class, and he had his struggles, but he was the first one by a long shot to understand and play a chromatic scale because he just understood it right away, and it was a great moment! The other kids even gave him a standing ovation! Then the competitive ones came back the next day and tried to top it with little success, haha.
