Thanks for the well wishes, ladies. My extractions went well and I'm taking it easy at home. The hydrocodone is making me a little loopy; had to take two because the pain was getting intense. D brought me my vanilla pudding and some other soft snacks, and is currently at the store, gathering fixin's for crab bisque. Things could be worse.
Guys, if I go missing it's because I beat the crap out of the neighborhood kids. They keep throwing soccer balls at our front door and banging on the door over and over at like 9 or 10 at night. Seriously, they are like a pack of wild animals.
I just got pissy in the UO thread. Why was it even bumped? I usually refuse to participate in a daily thread on the wrong day. Meh.
Anyhow, there is another season of parks and rec on Netflix!! Yay!!
And we went out to dinner tonight at a specific restaurant because we have a gift card...by force of habit we paid with the debit and forgot about the gift card. Womp womp. Free dinner some other night, yo.
@chilibeansm0m Hah! I love the death glare. DH likes to go stand on our balcony and scare the crap out of them when they knock on our door and run away. Ugh, they are just awful! Last week they were jumping up and down on a picnic table out front and screaming at 10 at night. I finally just sent an email to our landlord a bit ago...usually when I do that they go to all of their houses and yell at their parents LOL! So hopefully that calms them down. We love living where we do but the kids are just obnoxious.
@kellbell1982 - I'm in the same boat. I havent had a loss but have been feeling a little antsy since I haven't felt the bean for several days straight. Wishing I had a doppler! I'm glad you got the assurance you needed and are feeling LO again!
Congrats to @frecklesinside all the Team Blue or Pink action and everyone who had great appointments!
@goofygoff GL with your recovery. You are the woman!
@CityBee - I missed replying yesterday but just wanted to say hope your dad is continuing to do well. That is so scary.
@sjep922 - I've had enviably perfect boiled eggs forever and this is what I do: 1. Boil them like normal (I like mine hard boiled but even if you like soft it will still work) 2. When they are done, leave the eggs in the pot but pour out the boiling water and run cold water to fill up the pot 3. Once they've cooled down enough to handle comfortably (can still be warm), pick up an egg and with the back side of a soup spoon lightly tap all over the egg to break up the shell in a million pieces. Just a good firm tap tap tap going all around the egg and from top to bottom will do it. 4. Hold the egg under the faucet with a decent stream running water and just peel off the shell. It comes off like butter and the outside of the egg won't even be scratched.
You have to do this right after boiling, I don't know I guess the cold shock helps the thin membrane adhere to the shell and not the egg. If you wait and try to do this method later, the membrane will stick and the egg will tear up. Also, if that happens and you did it right away then your eggs were too old.
@Michelgesen / hope you guys have a good time, Happy anniversary!
@chilibeansm0m - neat! I haven't run across anybody who does it that way, people just look at me like I'm crazy. Brunch was a big deal in my family, we always had hard boiled eggs in little holders like this so they had to be peeled perfectly:
That reminds me, I have to find some of these so I can keep the tradition going for my kids.
What a day already. Well already meaning 3pm. FUCK I started typing this 45 mins ago (Its now 3:40).
So again, government contracting, blah blah blah - today is the last friday before the end of the government's fiscal year so expecting lots of activity today.
I don't work fridays (I know, sharpen your pitchforks) but typically I'll do a little emailing or if there is a special project - but anticipating crazy today I arranged for Mike to go to daycare. Well his 103 fever had other plans. So DH and I split watching him today - I didn't get to the office until 2pm.
We watched Sofia the First on the couch until nap time at which point I took a shower, threw foundation, mascara and blush on along with an MSU shirt and picked up sushi for lunch on the way in.
And now I am sitting here doing fuck all because we've only won one thing today. WTF Government - I'd rather be back home with my sick kid. Like where are the decision notices??? It's 3:40pm!
#$*$&(%($*%&$
Well if it makes you feel any better, I had to drag my happy ass into work today on my day off too (I get every other Friday off). Although I don't have a sick baby. Hope he feels feels better soon!
Got a sleep number bed today and have been trying to find my number for an hour now. Also stressing about NIPT results that I get this coming Tuesday. Feels like forever since I took the test. Have a great weekend all!
We had to travel to a hospital 2 hours away to be induced with Noah after his diagnosis. The closer hospitals wouldn't do it. We had to get an out of network exception for out insurance. One doctor that we saw apparently didn't participate with our insurance. The one who walked in as I was pushing.
After 11 months of fighting, I got a call from our insurance that they finally paid our bill from her. I have been so stressed about this bill. I can't believe after all this, it is finally done!
It's unbelievable what insurances put you through in these cases. You are faced with terrible circumstances and have to then jump through hoops. Same here with the exception. We just got it resolved last month! 8 months after the fact! I know the relief you speak of! So happy for you, toots!
Re: Withered Pear
@goofygoff Glad everything went well!
