Withered Pear

Sticking with the Willy Shakes theme, here is one of his charming terms for a vagina :)

Happy Friday and happy Randoms!

  • @totesmcgotes‌ eat it! Just serve it already sliced on plates when people get there rather than pulling the whole thing out ;) Or just laugh and say "no shame," because I'm sure your friends won't care.
  • I can only breathe out of one nostril. You never realize how much you take it for granted until you can't do it anymore. Boo.

H brought me lots of fun size candies last night as a birthday gift, so I'm using those to medicate. They'll totally help clear up my congestion, right?

And I'm so happy it's Friday! We are going apple picking tomorrow and gearing up for the "big" game on Sunday. My Packers play H's Bears. Bears are going down! We'll both be rockin' our teams' merch and trash talking, should be lots o' fun!

  • I missed breakfast this morning :(

I work so far away from any food places.

  • Also I just caught up on that AW intro post because I was wondering why it was still going... Oh my. She's off to a grand start.

    And @MissyCee‌ GO PACK!
  • MH had a fever last night at like 2am and was acting like he was delirious and his teeth were chattering and he was shaking violently. I go pull out the thermometer and take his temp thinking we might need to take him to the ER or something and the thermometer reads 99.1. I took his temp 3 times using 2 different thermometers and they all read about the same. What a BABY! I was expecting like 104 or something. Sheesh, men are wimps.

@toastercat, withered pear is definitely a new term for me, but apparently MH and his friends use it all the time?? WTH?

@babys2014, pregnant women can get away with anything style-wise in my book. Comfiness is key so rock that sweater dress and leggings!

  • I ran out of bread yesterday (like, only one kid got to bring a sandwich to school for lunch, the other one had to buy lunch) and completely forgot about it until this morning so I had to run to the store to get more. I figured since I was going I'd get stuff to make a good dinner tonight.  I got all the way home before realizing I was going to be the only person here for dinner tonight.  Sad face.
  • When are you guys getting the glucose test? Is it standard? Wonder why my doc hasn't brought it up. I'm 17w2ma. Love Friday!!!

  • I, too, had a crazy dream.  My child was born a girl with dark skin, dark hair and dark eyes -and she could talk a little bit and sit up at 2 days!  My H left me because the baby spit up on me and I had to change both her and I and he didn't want to wait - we were going to some work event for me - and I thought we had plenty of time.  Also, the baby slept in the same crib I had as a baby - mattress, sheets, bumpers and all - and the windows in my room with curtains were attached to the crib and hanging on the wall of the nursery.  We will be using my cradle and high chair - but they were all handmade for me - and apparently the crib I had was really crappy.

It was very strange - particularly because we are having a boy (confirmed by harmony and a very clear ultrasound), my H and I both have pretty white skin, light brown hair and blue eyes.  My H is pretty laid back and I can't imagine him ever leaving me - especially for not running early for having to change the baby.

We don't have any other children, and I don't plan on having any more

  • Spoke too soon. Threw up the whole thing again. If they tell me to take the 3 hour test again I'm going to throw something.

  • I watched grey's and Parenthood last night and already felt myself tearing up at moments so I know I'm in for it. Parenthood while pg is always extra hard for me! All the feels! I'm laying in bed while dh snores. I'm sure dd will be up soon. Dh is getting his last 2 wisdom teeth out this morning. Fx my dentist can actually do both since they're out but last time I had him pull 2 of my teeth he could only get one and I had to go to a specialist. More money. And FX dh won't be a baby all week. I'm such a good wife I bought lots of soups, top ramen, pudding, apple sauce and stuff to make mashed potatoes.
Beware of ramen noodles getting stuck in the holes... I speak from (disgusting) experience

@suzyq0525 I'm so sorry! Can you refuse it for now? Did you ask about the jellybeans? You poor thing!

The nurse I spoke to before I scheduled this lab said they wanted me to try the glucola drink again before we discuss jelly beans. I'm waiting to hear from the ob's office now.

Happy Friday everyone! Hope all you lovely ladies have a good day. My random is last night my new dog decided the place needed a little redecorating, maybe she finally saw Frozen? It took me 3 trash bags to pick up all the foam, luckily the little devil didn't eat any of it.

  • My step daughter loves hard boiled eggs for her lunchbox. I'm all for it because they're healthy. I hate peeling them though!!

Are there any tricks for cooking them so they are not as hard to peel that I'm missing???

  • Damn I'm feeling bitchy today.... :-S And I'm having what feels like Braxton hicks for the 3rd day in a row. Ow.

FYI when SO had his taken out in July, they said absolutely NO pasta b/c it isn't water soluble and can get stuck in the holes and cause a severe infection. Needless to say he was miserable eating nothing but mashed potatoes for 5 days but he survived!

    Happy Friday everyone!

We're going to the pumpkin patch this afternoon.  I'm so excited.  DS had a blast last year and we're picking pumpkins for our announcement picture.

We're also having my parents over tonight to celebrate my dad's birthday.  Which means, I get cake and ice cream.  Yum!  I'm so looking forward to it.  The only crappy thing is getting the house cleaned up in time.
I would really love to know what/how your doing it! I have been wanting to announce on facebook after I tell my extended family this weekend. I thought about doing something with two big pumpkins and a baby pumpkin. Maybe putting the ultrasound pic. on the baby pumpkin? I'm not very creative but really want to make this special!! :)
  • @mandi195‌ bagh. That sounds terrible! Even if the teeth are all the way out and not under the gums? Bagh.
yup... taking the tooth out still leaves a hole... and ANYTHING can get in there. And if he tries to use some sucking action to remove it, he could dislodge the blood clot (mouth scab) and give himself dry sockets. I'm gaggin g just thinking about my experience with them.

I'm thinking of probably incorporating too much but my idea is a family picture with DH, DS, and I with our pumpkins right next to us with Mom, Dad, and DS' name on them and then a small, baby pumpkin with baby written on it and I'll hold it near my belly.  I'm not sure how well this will turn out but in my head it seems nice.  I'm also thinking of having DS wear his I'm going to be a big brother shirt.  I'm also toying with the idea, but I'm not sure if I'm actually going to do it, wearing a pink shirt for the picture so that if anyone asks what the sex is, I'll say there's a clue in the picture but give no other hints.  If they can't figure it out, then they'll know when she's born.  A friend of mine did this except she posted a picture of her son in his big brother shirt which was blue and a riddle that if they wanted to know the sex, they'd have to read between the lines.  Some people got it, others didn't but no one said what the sex was to not ruin her surprise.  I thought it was cute, but I'm not doing the riddle.

That's a really cute idea!! I thought about doing something with the pumpkins and wearing one of those shirts with the skeleton baby (halloween theme). :) But I really love your sex reveal idea. I won't know mine, but I'm looking forward to just letting everyone know about the pregnancy/baby. :)

I'm at 17 weeks now, so it's a little past due.
  • My random: I feel like I jammed my toe yesterday. The baby toe. On a shopping cart wheel I was pushing. Ridiculously painful, day two. But it does at least feel a little less painful than yesterday. Toes are so small, but man the pain is big when you hurt them!
  • Told my department today. Luckily no one went too crazy or gushy. Gotta love working with mostly men...I was worried too many people would be all over me but they all seem pretty chill. I really don't like attention so this was definitely the best possible outcome in my mind.

Out of work in about an hour or so to head up to the NY Capitol Region. My brother is in town from the west coast doing some recruiting for his company at a college career fair so I'm crashing at my gayboyfriend's house tonight and hanging with the brother tomorrow when he's free. Haven't seen him in months, so it'll be nice.

@jm0848 HIMYM final season just popped up on my Netflix and I'm alreadly like six episodes in...

(hugs) @suzyq0525 I really hope you don't have to go through that again.

@estamos_tomamos I seriously hope you share goat pictures soon. I can only imagine how adorbs they are.

  • @kcbizme really? I got mine out nearly 10 years ago so I don't remember crap. The army took out his other 2 so they gave him no instructions! Our dentist is hella old school so he told us nothing to prepare or after care. Hopefully he tells us more when we go.
Yeah the guy who did his said if he's unsure about a certain food, put it in water for 30 minutes and see what it does. If it's still solid, it's not water soluble and he needs to stay away from it.
  • @chilibeansm0m I dunno if they were just extra strict, but they were very adamant about the foods. They also gave him a syringe with a tapered plastic end for him to rinse his holes out after the 5 days when he started eating solid foods again. It's been 2 months and I'm pretty sure he's still rinsing them out every night. He was also on the verge of having dry socket while the holes were still healing, so it's a good thing he was on the diet. They also gave him medicated mouthwash to use to help the healing process.

Either way, good luck. Men are babies. Mine was absolutely hilarious on the drive home. I wish I could have videotaped him, but alas, I was driving.
  • @chilibeansm0m GL to your H.

I'm getting two molars pulled in less than 2 hours from now and I'm starting to freak out.  My roots are long and curved so it takes some time to work them out.  And they won't knock me out because...pregnant.

D is taking the day off to take care of me.  Usually I'm not a big baby, but today IDGAF.

  • @chilibeansm0m 2 of his were completely in, 1 was partially under the gum, the 4th was completely under the gum and starting to push on the root of his molar in front of it. The 2 on the bottom are the ones that have given him the most grief.

His least favorite thing about having his wisdom teeth taken out?

One of the (many) noises he is constantly making.. he can't make it anymore with his teeth missing! HALLELUJAH!!!
