    Yes, I hate those too.  I've actually used my seam ripper to remove the ears from a few sweaters that I was given.

    Brilliant! I've been having the hardest time finding plain ole hats for baby 11 something that doesn't have ears or a character or crazy colors on it. But especially for little boys they all seem to have one of the 3. Getting rid of the ears may make my search easier.

  • @abbyful and @jlove253 those are both on my arsenal of stain removers to try. I'm really hoping it works. The worst part is I washed AND dried it before I saw them. Magically none of the ink got on anything else in the load.

    THIS is the point of those hats:

    I'll give it to ya-- She makes the hat look pretty darn cute! No denying it! I was more referring to a basic hat like this image

    The crochet beanies/hats are excluded from my FCCC.
    Lol, saw this after my kermit post :-)

    I can't stand baby hats/beanies/jackets etc with ears on them. My child isn't a dog or bear or cat. Don't get the need for ears.

    But, but, but, what about eyes? Does it help that my fetus is nicknamed Kermit???

    This doesn't bother me because it is suppose to be a frog.  This one says ZOOM and has cars on it with ears on the hood.  Why?  Do animals drive??  This is what I don't like.  My Sweet Pea at 2 months with his cousin holding him.

     The people who post on here asking for medical advice because they "don't want to be an alarmist and call their doctor" but yet have a laundry list of reasons why they should in fact call. Seriously? It makes me want to scream.... "Call your mother fucking doctor crazy"-that's what I really want to say to these posters. It might happen eventually, stay tuned....

    I'm going to play off this "people don't understand the rules to when to call/see the doctor" arena, just in the other direction.

    In my world, the ER is for emergencies.  Not because you jammed your finger, not because your ten year old threw up 3 times last night, not because you have a cold (all of these are straight from my FB feed, and all during the day when urgent care or a PCP would have been available).

    When I was sent to the ER last Wednesday (I called my OB first and was on the way to the office when they told me my symptoms were ER worthy so I headed there) the guy in front of me, when checking in, no lie said he had been coughing for 5 days and had a sore throat.  That's not an issue for the ER.  That's an urgent care or regular doctor visit.  I feel like people who truly have emergencies are having longer wait times because of the non-emergencies.  It just seems common practice among my friends and even my family to just run to the ER for any medical issue and I don't get it.

    I agree about dislike of people who run to the ER for non-emergencies, but only when there are other options available. I once went to the ER for and ear infection. I was living in a small town at the time that had a shortage of doctors. My doctor's office couldn't get me in for 3 days and the closest urgent care was 100 miles away.  I was planning on waiting until my appointment, but my mom (a nurse) encouraged me to go to the ER. If I would have waited until my appointment, there is a very good chance I would have had permanent damage.

    I have a friend that is a doctor. She worked in the local ER for a while. She said that she had women come in for pregnancy tests. They weren't citizens, barely spoke English, and celebrated when it was positive.  Total abuse of the system!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    This. I worked in an ER for a couple years and we saw so much abuse of the system. Our ER could not turn people away regardless of their insurance status, which, obviously, makes a lot of sense for true emergencies. The problem was however people coming in to the ER with colds and for other things that were not emergencies that could (and were) easily treated with over the counter medicine. It was so frustrating! One of the nurses got fed up one night and started asking people, "what is your emergency?"
    Now, I totally understand instances where other venues of help are not open and something that normally isn't an emergency should be brought to the ER, but when it is an abuse of the system it becomes frustrating.
    Another thing that was frustrating to me is that since there are no state mental hospitals, people with psychiatric breaks were brought to us where they stayed until we could find a facility for them to go to... The ER is also not a psych ward... Ours at least was not set up to handle those situations.
