DH and I were having morning sexy time and we were using a toy. I was about to finish when in walks Eliza. Most awkward moment ever. Not the O I wanted. We were able to get blankets up just before she walked in but nothing else to stop what was happening. We made her leave obviously but so awful. She was supposed to be asleep! WHY!!!???? We really can't have just spontaneous sexy time anymore. We always have to put a pin in it and say, make sure the door is locked. We obviously didn't do that this morning.
Really random aside: for those with older ginger babes/very freckly children, at what age do the freckles start to appear? Is it gradual or all at once? My MIL and DH don't remember and I've only got a few freckles on my nose.
Eliza started getting freckles at about 2.5/ close to 3. I'm super freckly so I was wondering. Dang Irish skin. She has adorable freckles in random spots on her body. The one that always gets me and I think is dirt or a bug or something is a dark one on her ankle. Gets me all the time.
You guys!! There are PUPPIES in the office today!! PUPPIES! Adorable puppy kisses are all mine! They are making it very very hard to say no to a puppy. GAH!
@haddocky as do I. It really pisses off mh. Oh and I got in shit for not just buying peak freans cookies. Apparently everyone knows they are allergy free. @-)
I either pre-dip veggies or whatever into the hummus, or we use it has a spread and make cracker sandwiches. I also use it on mini-bagels and stuff like that.

I'm spending the day reevaluating Christmas. I think we are going to do Something I want/need/wear/read in mcgeee house. Which is a bit depressing. We'll see if DH and I get anything at all.
Have any of you helped/listened to friends who fear their marriage was falling apart (not on the bump, but in real life)? Or had conversations with friends when your own marriage was stumbling?
What did you say/appreciate being said?
A coworker/friend is going through a rough patch and I sincerely said I was there if s/he wanted to talk and s/he took me up on it. And now I am freaking out that I have no idea what to say.
@robynloureed and @dliz87 I saw Snugglepuppy on your book exchange wishlists. One of our absolute favs here. I memorized the book and put it to a tune and sing it for naptime and bedtime. Maggie actually received the book and a plush puppy toy as her secret santa gift from @TheLittleRedM
I had two errands to run this morning, and both didn't work out. C has been super cranky all day, but refuses to take a nap. I just smashed my finger in a door. Then broke a glass all over the floor.
I am headed for rough waters with my sd. She is 10.5 and has oppositional defiance disorder so listening to instructions or direction isn't a strong suit. Last time she was over i asked her to put lo down at least 5 times (lo was getting upset) and suggested that instead of packing her around they could play, read stories, colour or something. On the sixth time i snapped a little (simply a stern tone, i never yell at my skids). She stormed off but came back a little later and played and seemed happy. She went home and told her mom that i was mean to her. Cue mom freaking on dh. Dh handled it well and all is fine but seriosuly. .. the teen years are approaching and I'm scared. Also, my heart hurts a little over such a small incident made bigger. *sigh*
@KMRR86 that's tough. I have 2 SDs. They are 7 & 8 and already keep secrets from DH per their moms request. I have been torn lately as what to do. If I overhear them whispering and ask what they are talking about they volunteer to tell me but say, "mom said not to tell dad." Then they ask me to keep it a secret. I told them that we don't keep secrets from eachother. I want them to feel like they can talk to me about anything without me flipping out especially later in the teen years. Do I say ok I won't tell your dad? So they are comfortable talking to me? Being a step parent is tough!
@KMRR86 I face a similar situation with my one SIL. She's a year younger than I am, but has some developmental disabilities. She can be very rough with P and I never really know how to handle the situation. I watch her like a hawk when she's with him. When he was little, MIL was really good about watching her and correcting her, but now that he's older she doesn't. It's not my job to correct her, but someone has to, KWIM?
@MrsGiantPenis my DS was about 9 when he found mine and asked my now DH what ir was. DH panicked and said "I don't know it is girl thing". DS threw it back in draw and said "oh girls are weird. " DH said "YUP"
Warning TMI possibly. Lately DH has been forgetting deodorant. He sat down next to me again on the couch today and I smelled that familiar foul BO. I looked at him and said, " do you not have anymore deodorant or what?!?" He was like yea I showered awhile ago and put it on why? I lifted my arm and nearly died! It was me! Embarrassing! X_X
DH got the call...we can rent the house!!!! We will have a 6 month lease. I am excited!
Not so excited that we will be in MILs backyard...literally. Her woods connects with this guys woods...but she is our babysitter and atleast we won't have far to go to drop Zoe off.

Finally found a spare minute - out of surgery and settled back in to our room. Went just fine. More later....

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
