I ended up in L & D Last night. Starting have regular and painful contractions around 5:30 PM. That lasted a good 3 hours only 2-3 minutes apart lasting about 45-60 seconds each time. DH and I thought this is it! Turns out I was only 1CM dialated, so they said I could go home to labor if I wanted. Fast forward to morning, and still having contractions but they are not nearly as painful. Not sure if I was actually going into labor or not. Assuming no. Fun times. But seriously, shit is getting real and I am running out of time!
I am super excited but also nervous. I go in for an induction at 5:00am tomorrow. I am so ready to meet my little girl and hold her but nervous about labor and the big time life adjustment of not having a little one in the house for 12 yrs. please say a little prayer for us that everything goes smoothly tomorrow.
@Ohioloveyou I had a cervical check yesterday and I did't feel a thing!!! I'm a HUGE baby when it comes to anything happening in that area, so I was absolutely shocked. She did say she felt "around" and didn't poke inside the cervical opening because she didn't want to disturb anything, but I was shocked that it was so painless.
Today is my 7 year wedding anniversary! We are putting off the fancy dinner since we have one planned for next weekend, so will be having yummy bananas foster brioche french toast this evening. I can't believe it's been 7 years already. DH has been so wonderful during this whole pregnancy that it has reminded me why I fell in love with him 12 years ago.
@golfingdarwinfish - Happy anniversary! Also I envy you. Had a cervical check last night and it hurt like shit! I swear that nurse rammed her whole hand up vajay. It made me think..if i can't handle a cervical check maybe I won't do well with labor
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.

@SPurp13 - Finally had my childbirthing class this Saturday. I was as sick as a dog so in between the congestion and blowing of the nose I didn't ask many questions like I intended but the instructor did bring up swaddling. She didn't give much info as to why it's no longer recommended, just said there's been an uptick in SIDS recently and I guess they think it "might" have something to do with swaddling. They recommend swaddling for comfort but not for sleeping. She said to use sleep sacks or place a blanket over baby and tuck the blanket into the sides of the crib to prevent it from moving.
Meanwhile, the nurse in my newborn care class said to swaddle over using sleep sacks, because the swaddling is what gives the baby that cradled, back-in-womb feeling that will help soothe them. She said not to use the sleep sack.
I think they're just screwing with us at this point...

Now that the weather has cooled off and I've officially retired my maternity capri pants, I have two pairs of maternity jeans in rotation. Both are high-waters on me. Tall people probs. :-<
ok, I LOVE my H to death, but he has been texting me this morning. Wants to know if he should leave work and come home to be with me after our little scare last night. My response, no contractions are not any more painful or getting worse, I'll let you know if things start to progress. He has very little vacation time and all the time he takes off when LO comes is unpaid, so we are saving his vacation time. He says, do you think the doctor can give us any more insight as to when the baby is coming? I said no, likely not we just have to wait. We will talk to her at the Friday appointment when we see if I am anymore dilated etc. Obviously, we just need to wait until this baby is ready. He said "that frustrates me". I know he is excited, but hell don't you think it frustrates me when I going through the pain, sleepless nights, back aches etc... I want to say Just stop! This baby will come when it comes! I get it, why doesn't he?
My appointment today was pretty good. Joined the butt swab club...cervical exam was uncomfortable but I think that's mostly because my cervix is super high and not at all dilated. He had to put his fist under my tailbone and have me arch my back to even feel it. Baby is head down, though, so that's good!
Plus baby is kind of a butthole already. I swear he had changed position over the weekend because I didn't feel movements in the same places AT ALL. No baby feet poking my side. Made me worry a bit and I planned to ask the doc about it. Then what did I feel on the way to my appointment? Baby feet. Pushing on the seatbelt. What an ornery kid.
Last night must be the night for contractions. I had an awful sore back after work last night that turned into a cramp like feeling that wrapped around to my sides. This happened on and off all night despite position changes and my pillow fortress. Then, this morning I was having cramps in my pelvis with obvious peaks and then they would subside. I feel better since I got up and ate some food and drank some OJ and water. Still having occasional contractions so I guess we'll see what happens today.
Well I was all happy at my doctors appointment because I successfully urinated in the cup without peeing on myself.
Then my blood pressure is sky high so I got sent to labor and delivery for monitoring. It's already lower than it was in the doctors office, so hopefully just a false alarm! If you have spare T&P to send my way I would appreciate it, not ready for baby yet!
@MrsTinMKE so what you're saying is he has a tiny little taste of what it's like to be inside the mind of a pregnant woman. we feel so sorry for him!
Yes! I feel like he wants all the sympathy right now... and I'm just like try a day in my shoes. I do however think most of it is because he is excited. He was so excited thinking the baby was coming last night. I don't think he realizes how he is sounding right now!
Happy birth-i-versary to those celebrating today! Shout out to @TheOtherJacobsons for that tip on rolling a blanket under a swaddle. That was legit! I feel like a new woman this morning

Wait what? I missed this tip! Where?
It was in the thread about never sleeping and there were some really good baby sleeping tips up in there!
So. I'm stalking this D14 thread about all of them being nasty (hilarious, of course), and I'm noticing that many of these lady's have D14 badges for being bitches, and it makes me a little sad.
Someone should make us one for O14 Notches...
Really? Something good goin on over there? Everytime I lurk N14 and D14 it is boring. (:|
I am counting the minutes until lunch time today! I usually don't eat until 1 (so that I have less time to work after lunch...that's how I roll) and I am starving and my lunch is so good. I feel like LO has flipped transverse again. I feel hiccups higher up on my left side and lots of moves in the middle area.
@sweetadeline31 I'm glad the Purp's Pillow Plan was able to provide
relief. Please consider upgrading to our PPP 2.0, which includes a
heating pad and white noise machine. Available with or without cats.

UGH, Now I don't know WHAT to do. We have a bunch of the SwaddleMes and some Sleepsacks (with and without the mummy-wraps). I'm SURE if I ask the jailspitol, they will say "just swaddle her," or, worse, "just put her in this cardboard box in the garage."
We have our audit today and I'm so annoyed. I did all of the leg work, but it's actually an audit of my boss... Not me. I've asked him several times to go over this stuff with me so he knows what will be asked of him.
This morning he said, "Good luck on your big day!" :-/ So either I'm going to get stuck with all of this, or he will get all of the questions but not know the answers.
To get through the day, I had a dessert tray catered for the office. Brownies, cookies, and lemon bars are mine. ALL MINE.

Dude, swaddle that shit. I mean, swaddle that baby. Make sure she's not too hot but use the fucking swaddle!
I can't believe they are trying to do away with swaddling....
This! We got the special swaddle ones. DD doesn't seem to like them but we use a blanket. What's the bfd? My niece likes the velcro sacks though.

Dude, make a decision for what is best for you and just try both. Obviously there are a ton of opinions about this in every direction, try a few things and do what works best for you. There's not always a black& white right or wrong answer for everything.

I had a dream last night that I was at a wedding and suddenly @SPurp13 showed up and sat next to me, and she was all "OMG! Savagek7! HI!!! It's me, Purp!" And then we realized @MrsSinner402 was sitting in front of us. We could tell because the back of her jacket was embroidered with MrsSinner402.
There were no faces involved, just screen names and pregnant bellies.
What did I look like? An orange cat? Or was I hot? I need to know.

For what it's worth, what I HEARD is that swaddling isn't good because they can't throw their arms out to startle themselves awake. And, overheating. But SO many people are still using swaddling that I don't know what to do. I KNOW our jailspitol does. Not that that is here nor there.

Also, with the jackets, what are we pink lady's?
