Halloween costumes

I know this was discussed awhile back but I wasn't ready to think about Halloween then. I'm stumped on what to do with my kiddos for Halloween. Part of me wants to dress them as a themed unit but then I think they should each be their own thing.

Eli - not a clue!

Scarlett - wants to be a unicorn or rainbow

Hailey - mermaid or not sure??

I'm cheap so I'm hoping to DIY most of these myself and only have to buy minimal new items.

What are your kids being for Halloween?

I'm making E a Pebbles costume. Should be pretty simple once I find the correct color top and bottoms. Then I'll just attach black felt triangles to the top and make/buy a bone for her hair.

I found a duckling costume the other day for $17! It is adorable! When Alex saw it in the store he wanted to hold it and kept saying duc, duck, duck!
The only problem is he screams bloody murder when I put it on him. :-?

So predictable here...Corri is going to be Elsa, Gavin will be Olaf, and our fur baby will be Sven (he got antlers last holiday season cause my sister is sick, lol).

I found a Carter's doggie costume at a consignment sale for $12, it was basically brand new. I was pumped. He is ridiculously cute wearing the hood, can't wait to have him in it

Inspired by my other bmb, S will be Huckle Cat from the Richard Scarry books.

A was going to be another Richard Scarry character but he loves ducks and quack quack is one of his few words so maybe we will try that.

D.d.'s gonna be Curious George. The costume isn't made in her size, so we're making our own based on this George she has. A pair of plain red overalls should be here Tues. then we'll be going to Michael's or A.C. Moore Wed. or Th. I also still need to find a dark brown long-sleeved shirt for her to wear underneath.

Delilah is being a My Little Pony per request - Twilight Sparkle. I thoughts be cute to have Zack be her dragon, Spike, but no one sells a Spike costume. There is one on etsy for $80, but that's crazy for a kid's Halloween costume.

Instead Zack is now going as Yoda per H's choice.

We just bought a hoodie for Delilah's costume that had ears and a mane. She'll wear leggings with it and we'll make a tail out of yarn.

My oldest wanted to be a pirate (again). Dh said "again!" . Then he was going to be his ninja turtle costume he got for his birthday. Then he decided he wants to be quezi (spell?) - the cat pirate octanaut.

DD changes her mind daily (:|. A animal (forgot which one), a driver, me, Ana, a princess, mommy, donatello (ninja turtle), etc etc etc.

LO. - I'm not sure. Something squishy and adorable.

DH won't do family costume.

We are having two friends over for the weekend due to a third friends wedding. One of the friends has a Aug 13 baby and the other has a May 14 baby. I think the May 14 baby is gonna wear Tessa's old alligator costume and call it a Crocodile, the A13 baby is gonna be Capt Hook and T is going to be Mr Smee

No idea! Last year she was a peapod and DH and I dressed as vines. Of course we didn't get a single family photo.

At what age will you all start bringing these LO's trick or treating? I feel like she would love to walk around and see all the kids. Andddd this pregnant momma would oh-so-selfishly eat her candy for her, but I feel like maybe she won't really be into it until next year.

DD is going to be an owl. I bought the costume at Costco. DS was supposed to be Jake from the Neverland pirates, but he told me to return it because he wants to be a spaceman. When we returned Jake, Costco no longer had the astronaut costume so we are going to check the party store.

Noelle loves that owl puppet. We named him Horace.

Omg, what an amazing name. I love it. Ours is plain boring Mr.Owl. Clearly I need to get more creative.
