This will be my first ivf cycle

we are male infertility and traveling out of state for our cycle. I start the pill around sep 21 and Lupron October 10th. My ER is set for nov 7th. Anyone else set for nov ???

We did our fresh cycle back in March, but I'll be doing a FET on Nov 5. I had hoped to be able to do it in late October, but got bumped due to AF timing. Good luck with your first IVF!

)) that's exciting to have a little group going!!!! We just got our calendar last week. She normally does not hand them out this early but since we are out of state we need more time to set up travel. Question ladies anyone have any info on progesterone shots vs. suppositories?

We will most likly be ICSI also but doctor wants to see how the cycle goes first. Nov seem so far but yet so close lol

What kind of info are you looking for? For all of my fresh IVFs I was on both PIO and a E2V progesterone supps (basically a compounded supp that contains both progesterone and estrogen). I started PIO after ER and added supps after ET. There are lots of tips of PIO (make sure muscle is relaxed, heat and massage the injection site afterwards, are a few). I took supps before bed and never had an issue with leakage, etc. My clinic recommends keeping supps in the fridge, so that they are more solid when you insert them.

First IVF in November for me as well! I'm terrified!! I'm doing IVF with ICSI due to male infertility. My husband travels for work, so administering all of these shots should get interesting. I'm thinking of paying a nurse that lives in the area to come by and give them to me on days he's gone (which is half of them!)

I've heard horror stories about mood swings on the meds. I'm already a nightmare from the emotional roller coaster of this... Everyone in my life better watch out!

carrieharry79--I have done 2 IVFs and the mood swings were not as bad as I expected, although I certainly could tell the difference when my dose of follistim went up by 75 units for my second cycle. Everybody's different.

Also, I've heard that some people have gone to a firehouse and had a fireman deliver their injections? I'm not sure if this is true, but it may beat paying someone. My husband did most of my shots, but I was surprisingly fine doing them myself in his absence.

@carrieharry79 I have done 3 fresh IVFs now and have never had too much issue with mood swings. Some of the meds do have other fun side effects like hot flashes, headaches and heartburn, but overall nothing I couldn't survive.

As for the injections, I've always done all of the subQ ones myself. I don't have any issues with needles though, so it wasn't a big deal to me. My husband does do my IM shots for me (logistically it's easier for him to reach the correct spot), but I think I could do it myself if I had to.

I'm joining the party. When to the doctor and thought I was starting BC but realized my transfer week would be around my busiest work week of October so we pushed it back a month. Expecting AF around 10/9 to start my first IVF with ICSI.

We will be doing IVF/ICSI #2. We will start whenever my next period comes, but it should put ER and ET in early to mid November.

I was thinking on joining the October Autumn Acorns but think my cycle will fall in November. Maybe I should hold off with you gals! I should be starting my BCP end of September. Changing to antagonist protocol for IVF#3, and trying to stay off google..

All ready for IVF #1 in November! Current plan is for ER the week before Thanksgiving and ET the week of Turkey Day. Just got the cost of all of my IVF meds (took me a while to pick myself up off the floor) but am excited to start the journey! On BCPs for this month and next due to a planned vaca overseas in October.

Thank you for all the good info !! My ivf nurse told me I could choose which form of progesterone I wanted. I decided the shots lol I may regret that but for now I think that's our best bet. I love November wishbones

)) My husband is in the army and still has not got the time off aproved!! I go tomorrow for a pelvic US to check on cysts. So fingers crossed things fall into place this week so I can start BCP next week

Yes he is stateside we are currently stationed in Alaska . We will need to fly to Seattle Washington to complete our cycle. He does not think they will aprove that amount of time

if they don't let him go I will check into that for sure!!! Thank you , we have spent the last year setting up a nov cycle and I'm not giving it up with out a fight . Just did my PU she said cysts look small so hopefully all good news.
Has anyone started BCPs yet?

@cac111789‌ I've started BCPs also, but it was because if I started a natural cycle, I'd have to take Provera because I don't cycle on my own, and then I'd miss my clinic's November cycle.

@K1111K‌ Yep! You belong here. I believe with the groups you can join if you have ER or ET that month. If you're doing a planned FET, you'd probably just join both groups, if you want.

I started my BCP 1st week of Sep, ER scheduled for 1st week of Nov. doctor doesn't support fresh transfer, only recommends FET - any thoughts? He is suggesting FET in Jan, it's too long of a cycle for me. Has any other doctor for anyone recommended FET only and not fresh transfer?

Hello Ladies,

My name is Mariana and I will be cycling in November.

After a total failure in IVF #1 (we found out that I am a poor responder), we will try Estrogen Priming Protocol, yay!!! I really hope this protocol will be the one for us!!! So I will start Estrogen patch next month and November I will be on stimulation meds and hopefully ER/ET this time

I got what I think is my period today (I've had spotting light bleeding since my hysteroscopy last week, but it seems to be getting heavier) so I will be starting BCPs for IVF #4 Sunday. It is always strange to me how excited I get to get my period and start BCPs.

It won't work as well if we have international ladies in the group but I like Tiny Turkeys as a cycle name.

Tiny Turkeys is super cute!! I'm praying that I get to start cycling in November. As of right now I am just hoping my betas continue to fall quickly. Last check was on Friday and I am at 1668. Next check is in 2 weeks (Oct 3rd).

Hi all! I'm coming here from the September sweet pea group. My first ivf attempt ended with one big fat negative but thankfully 8 little frosties- all five day blasts. My re does all cycles in batches and I don't line up with the October group so looks like I will be transferring the first week of November. I'm going to be on bc followed by a lengthy period of lupron, then progesterone and estrace. I can't wait to give this another shot!

I transferred one on my fresh cycle, now I'm thinking I might try two...

@marianass- nice to see you are getting to move on to a new cycle so soon! Hopefully the second time around you will respond better.

Also I think tiny Turkeys is adorable!

Hi, all! I hope it's okay to join you.

My husband and I are hoping to try ivf with icsi in November. My period should start in the next day or so...explains why I'm all weepy trying to get meds and stuff lined up. Lol And then I'll do some blood work and hopefully start birth control! I'm really nervous and excited and scared! I'm 39 and it took me forever to get my husband to go to the doc for testing. But he went and he has some mild problems with numbers. And I have some mild problems too...mild endo on my ovaries and slightly low progesterone. Anyone else super anxious and how are you managing?
