OMG, I got some celery from the farmer's market and the leaves were sooooo bitter.  They tasted like poison.

  • I can't stand Adam Sandler. I dislike absolutely everything I've ever seen him in.
  • I agree stoney.  My co-worker and I were just talking about how we think it's a fundamental issue with a sport as violent as football.  Like some of these boys don't know how to "turn it off" when they get off the field.  There ought to be some sort of service available to players, or even mandatory, to help them leave it on the field when the game is over.

  • Also Stitchfix is cool, but they need to send way more than 5 items, especially since they send like one shirt, one pair of pants, one pair of earrings, etc.  I need to try on at least 3 pairs of pants before I find one that fits okay, nevermind one I like enough to buy.

You fill out a bunch of info about your body type and style and they send you 5 things they think you'll like.  You get charged a $20 styling fee, which they'll apply to anything you decide to buy.  If you don't buy anything, you're out the $20.  I did it twice and in the first box, I bought a shirt I LOVE.  The second box was a bust.

I think another thing that would help is if they would let you exchange things for other sizes or colors.  The first box had a pair of pants I would have bought if they were a different color.  The second box had a jacket I would have bought in a bigger size. You can always search for the stuff online and buy it at another retailer, though.

okay.  so you're charged $20 to get the box.  Let's say you keep the whole box…how much is that? you have to pay per item?

They send you clothes, if you like them they bill you for them, if you don't, you send them back.

That sounds interesting but like they're JUST missing the mark a little bit with this. Though, less shipping costs for them, and they get your $20.

It varies.  I got the cheapest package and they seem to run $50- $120.  If you buy the whole box you get a discount.  I think it's 25%.
  • and is it a full outfit they send you? could it be like….five shirts? lol

I started using Ipsy for make-up and hair products.  I'm getting my first bag this month and I am seriously excited about it.  I really want to start wearing more make-up and trying out new things.  But I don't want to buy full sized product and for $10 I get 4-5 new items that are some what geared toward me (they have you fill out a survey to help determine color and contents of the bag).

In fairness, they do say that the boxes usually get better the more you order because your stylist learns your tastes better.
  • I don't understand why people hate that thread. Just don't open it. What possible reason is there for moderating it?

They send you stuff you could make an outfit with or that you pair with an essential wardrobe piece you already own, like a white button up or a pair of jeans.  They also send you cards with ideas for how to make the outfits.

Makes sense, but do you get to give them a rationale for why an item didn't work for you?

Yes.  They have a quick multiple choice survey you take on each item you receive and then a write-in space if you have something else to say about it.
  • Now I kind of want to order another stitchfix box, lol.

To go against the grain of the CDing board, I actually have a CDing UO. :p

I am hitting a bit of a wall with TT. Its annoying me that I can't actually shop? 95% of the time its awesome fun to stalk and hope and pine over a certain print and be DELIGHTED when you get it. But for the last week or so its just been annoying. I have a fat paypal balance burning a hole in my cyber-pocket and I can't do anything about it. I failed miserably at stocking last night which was beyond frustrating.

At least with retail brands you can buy mostly whatever you want whenever you want it. Although I do want a tie dye BB cover and can't buy that either. WHY DO YOU HATE ME, CLOTH DIAPERS!?!?!?!

/end first world cloth diapering problems.
I don't get the crazy pricey WAHM fitted love to begin with. I don't own one, so maybe there's something about them I'm missing, but I don't see how they're better than a fitted I could sew myself.

I'll piggyback on that and say how much it annoys me when anyone assumes I'm a certain way because I'm a woman or a mom.  Like "Oh you probably wouldn't like that movie.  It's so violent."  Oh really?

agree.  and even when reading MK's scenario about her free coffee and conversation with that guy at the gas station and how "mom's need coffee".  I like sweet gestures like that-a free cup of coffee.  But why the hell should I need all the coffee? Why not the husbands/dads/boyfriends/SOs whatever
