When did you find out gender?

I get a ultrasound with a specialist every other week and our next one is Tuesday the 23rd. I'll be 14 weeks and 3 days. My dr said we might get to find out the gender at that time. Since i get all my ultrasounds done with my cancer dr she said their ultrasound equipment can see things earlier.

Should I get my hopes up? We found out with my daughter at 16weeks.

It will probably be another 13 years or so until we find out the gender of our daughter. Good luck finding out this early!

By 13 years they are *usually* pretty set. That's not to say everyone is but if she says female she is probably female at this point. But I obviously wouldn't bank on anything until they knock a year of college out.

My best friend didn't begin living nongendered and later transitioning to male until he was 21 or 22. There's time yet!

Ok thank you for telling me. I'm a first time mom so I'm new at all this. The other people who are being ass holes for no reason are going to be such amazing parents... Not! Seriously grow up and help others understand. It won't kill ya to be kind.

Your gender has everything to do with your genitals. Stop trying to please everyone! If someone decides they don't feel as if they are the GENDER they were born as they usually end up getting GENDER reconstruction surgery.. Relax!

You mean sex reassignment surgery, right? Reconstruction is an entirely different beast and requires it to have been constructed at one point in the first place. Good try though.

Apparently what you meant to ask is when you can find out what genitals your baby has. I had US at 13 weeks because FHT we're not clear. US tech said leaning toward girl...whups sorry that is a medical term not used anymore in modern society by intellectuals...it had a vagina. I guess the choice on how to use it over the years will be up to it. I have to boys...um sorry its with penises so it would be nice to have some more vaginas in the house.

OP I'm not going to mention the sex vs gender because my pp's have laid it out for you. To answer your question yes it's possible for them to make an educated guess about the sex but it's only a guess.

I'm being nit-picky but I wanted to point out that not all mothers are parents. I'm a mother, but I carry 4 of my children in my heart and will never carry them in my arms. I mother them and love them and think about them and worry about them daily even though I've never had the pleasure of staying up all night with a puking baby. I don't consider myself a parent, and I don't pretend to know what it's like to mother a child on earth, but reading your definition of a mother was hard to take this morning. Yes, it's semantics, and yes, it's picking on the details, but I felt the need to speak out for myself and all other mothers who will not hold their child/children in their arms.
