I heard some girls going back and forth about how one forgot tampons and the other one didn't have any and then the one who needed them gave the other girl a quarter to see if she could get one out of the tampon/pad vending machine. That didn't work...apparently there were none in there.

I heard all of this and left my stall and gave a tampon to a fellow woman (girl) in need. She was so grateful!!

They are the worst. My company doesn't have those machines nor do they have trash cans in stalls. Yet another reason the diva cup would be a good option.

I've only read two threads on A15 and both have a fuck off comment. We really have gone soft, guys!

My girlfriends and I are planning on attending a girls-only Pinup Show next month. I'm so so excited! One of my co-workers is modeling in it and it sounds like a great time.

Since having Mirena put in last August, I've never had a period bad enough to use more than a liner and haven't had to use a tampon since August 2012!! YAY!

Two questions that occurred to me yesterday:

1) for those with nannies/in-home DC, how much do you give as a Christmas bonus? Is a week's pay too little?

2) how do you wash your LO's hands? Until now I sat her on the edge of the sink, feet dangling inside the sink, and stretched her hands to the faucet. With the colder weather, she's wearing a lot more socks and long pants around the house, so my sinkside seating solution is no longer as efficient.

I also tend to carry a tampon, even when pregnant, just in case someone needs it. Pre-kids, I was at a kids' basketball game at my friends' kids' school and I was the only one who had band aids as well. Guess it is the Girl Scout in me

I don't carry tampons anymore due to diva cup.

This reminded me that I had my second ever period at school, and my teacher gave me a no applicator tampon and the instructions and I was all confused and didn't get it in right, so I was very grateful that our school uniform included very dark blue skirts. I still don't get why anyone would want a no applicator tampon.

DD's cold finally is finally looking like it is going away. She has had it almost 2 weeks and has been sleeping so poorly. DS woke coughing at midnight and is still sleeping so I hope he does not wake up sick. I have had a sore throat and have just been so exhausted. I really need to find some energy to get on my elliptical at night. I need to lose some weight.

@laurac122, @casey78 - I wash her hands after coming home and after meals - although to be fair, after meals (especially spaghetti), I might as well just put her in the shower.

She gets cream cheese on a bagel for part of her breakfast and after her going to town on that stuff, wipes just won't cut it....

Morning everyone! Day 3 of back to work and so far it's going well, just like riding a bike!! Lo is struggling with napping at daycare and it's making out nights suck!! Plus she was congested and coughing last night.

I think we may be saying goodbye to our poor bean dog.....she is 13 and has had some awful bloody diarrhea. She's been losing weight and I'm suspecting she has cancer or something.....we will see how she is today......

Morning! Mason woke up at 4:45 crying for no apparent reason and fell back asleep at 5:05. My alarm goes off at 5:10... laaame. Those extra 25 minutes are precious to me. ~O)

On a good note, I got the job yesterday so now my 90 miles a day will turn into 6 and I'll be 2 miles from daycare if we have an asthma emergency AND my SD wont have to wait for the bus in the cold this winter!! Win win all around <:-P

Hope all the sick babies get better soon!

I used to be one of those people that would get so irritated when people came to work sick. However, since I now have a kid in DC, if I didn't come to work every time I had a runny nose or sore throat, I would be fired calling in sick all the time. I'm at work on day 3 of a head cold. I sound like a man when I talk. I try to stay in my cubicle and use hand sanitizer right before I leave my desk to go do something. DS is sick too and DH said his throat was hurting this morning. Yay.

DC washes hands as soon as they arrive, so DS is used to it. I just hold him up to the sink and he sticks his hands out.

FYE: DH's cousin, who is due with her first kid in Dec, is in for a rude awakening. In the span of 20 minutes:

Re: hand washing

If out, we use wipes and sanitizer before eating and wipes after. If home and just sleeping/chilling, wash cloth before and after. Coming home from somewhere or been out or crawling around, we wash at the sink. I hold her in front of me with one arm, put soap on one hand and wash it/lean her forward and rinse it. Switch hands and repeat.

For the past week DS has been going through a phase (at least I hope it is a phase) where everyone else is cooler than mama. He acts so happy when Daddy comes in the room, yet I get no reaction now. And he cries when the nanny leaves. He used to cry when I left the room. If I come out of my office during the day and he sees me, he acts shy and buries his face into our nanny. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's not getting upset when I'm not around. But I'm missing being his favorite.

@redrocksmama, Landon went through that phase too when he was about this age--started going through a daddy phase. I think they tend to go back and forth at different times--I guess enjoy the hands-free time for now? Caleb is still very much a mama's boy and will often cry or fuss until I hold him, so I am kind of looking forward to a little break and a daddy phase...FFWC!

Is this week dragging for anyone else...? I am looking forward to next Friday when I plan to call in sick because one of my friends will be in town, we are going to get together and take the kiddos to the zoo! And a parents' night out dinner that night!

Busy day so far!

My nanny takes off whenever she wants and comes in late whenever she wants... She works about 20 hours a week. I don't pay her for the days she isn't here. This is her second job and I'm really flexible. At her other job she works in the morning for a couple hours and then has the middle of the day off and then has to work in the evening for a couple of hours and gets paid for a full day. We're kind of lucky that we found each other because it works perfectly for us. I gave her the week of Christmas completely off last year and gave her $100.00. She was shocked that I even gave her anything because in this area it's not really a thing that most people do. So, I guess I didn't give her a full weeks pay but what I did give her, she very much appreciated.

I'm hungry and stuck upstairs again... I really need to start stocking snacks! I always say I'm going to and then never follow through

The weather here has been amazing!
