@mrshudson618@sparkymcgeee I was a little ragey because she was being a very vocal judgey McJudgerson about my parenting choices, but I bit my tongue. It was not worth starting an argument. Plus, even though I have no doubt that becoming a parent will be much different than she envisions, I don't want to be the sanctimommy saying, "just you wait."
@jennipalmer yeah. That comment rubbed me wrong, too. She is incredibly generous, so I have no doubt that her generosity will be reciprocated by others. BUT... to EXPECT others to provide for her daughter is just selfish.
At daycare before we got out staircase style step stools...we would put our foot on the stool and then have the child sit on our knee. Most could then reach the water to wash should probably start doing it now too. Wipes are so easy though
@missymr hugs!! Sorry you didn't hear what you wanted but hopefully things will heal adequately.
We just gave Christmas gifts to Vinny's teachers last year. A gift and a gift card. He had 3 teachers so I think our gift was like $150 total across all 3. Then we gave the director of the center and the assistant a gift at a lower monetary value. It feels like a lifetime ago but we did do something.
@missymr, we usually just do small gifts for the teachers at Christmastime--I think last year, first year with two kiddos in DC, I went super budget-friendly and made homemade cookies, packaged them in cute boxes and gave cards (since we had six teachers to "buy" for, between two kids!).
There are lots of cute ideas on pinterest for teacher gifts--for teacher appreciation day in the spring, I got Starbucks tumblers and put Ghirardelli chocolate, swedish fish, and Burt's Bees chapstick inside.
Last night I was able to go out with a couple of ladies from church. We just went to Panera and had soup but we stayed and talked for 2.5 hours. It was glorious. I am so glad I was able to go out. We all have babies born last summer. Late May, late June and then Isaac on July 1. We all have older LOs the same age too. I wish I could do that more often.
LO is currently standing in front of the cat, who is on my lap, holding up a toy at a time (ie a ball, a LP) saying a "word", offering it, then smiling a big huge ear to ear grin and giggling. It is majorly adorable.
@bmore721 Your post also reminded me of something I didn't have time to mention earlier on. There is one more friend of a friend who invited 190 people to her baby's first birthday. And no, that is not a typo. 190 freaking people. @-)
Pasta was going to be dinner here as well, but the kids requested pizza for lunch so not sure if I'll change dinner. I am in a i-hate-meals-snacks-the-never-ending-kitchen-mess rut right now.
I need to work but my mind just wonders today. One reason particularly is waiting to POAS...I had sexy time during my fertile time. DH and I go back and forth on trying and if not pregnant this time I will probably go on BC next month. Well I should have one more fertile time before that. When ttc waiting sucks.
DH's job allows employees to switch their schedule once a week. They can leave up yo two hours early one day and come in two hours early another. He had to fudge it a bit this week, but he went in an hour early today and he will go in an hour early tomorrow so he can leave early Friday and be with me for my grandpas funeral :x
I am so glad he is able to do that and be there with me.
I watched The Fault In Our Stars last night and that was probably not a good idea.

After work I am going to look at a house to rent. Yes rent. Haha..if you remember my rants we were going to buy. But we were not in a huge rush. We were going to wait til spring or so.
Well DH does not want to stay in our apartment until then. After the fire at the church next door he is so over our apartment. And so am I. We realized just how badly kept it is. Had the wind gone the other way and sent a spark to our roof...our building had no chance. The shingles are so bad. The landlord is terrible.
So we are thinking of maybe renting a house til we buy. Not my ideal option, to have to move that much. But I think I would feel safer elsewhere.
And the house we are looking to possibly rent is actually the house DH lived in as a baby. And it is basically around the corner from MIL *sigh* but it would be nice to be out of the shithole til we buy and have a yard! And the guy renting it seems nice!

I can't think of anything appealing for dinner. Thinking pbj for the kids with fruits and veggies and salad for me.
I can't get anything done around here because LO won't let me out of her sight. It is icky gross around here. I found out dh has another 5 day trip (he had said this was the last one for a bit) and leaves SUNDAY ( I actually had sat night plans but don't want to go now that I know I won't be able to nap Sunday. And when the heck will anything get done. I hate when he leaves on the weekend (something his family said he would NEVER have to do, but in fact happens every 6-8 weeks). The kids get one day with him and I bet he has so much to do they won't really see him.
Sorry, complaint over. I told him to move his stuff out of our closet and over to his parents since he is never home during the week and they aren't home on weekends. I could really use the 2/3 of the closet he has control of.... :P (eta his office is right around the corner from his parents so I told him it makes more sense to pack there anyhow. No kids and pets to work around. I think it sounds like a great plan. He can still have - Idk, 3 dresser drawers for weekend attire)
Sorry guys I tried to catch up but failed. Really busy at work and A isn't sleeping well. I have been calling asleep around the boys bedtime from sheer exhaustion.
Those machines are really the worst. If you think about it, keeping them stocked is a sanitary and public health issue, never mind just a nice thing to do. Our college bathrooms had no machines OR disposal units. That sucked.
Try going to a football game with your husband. You think college bathrooms are bad?

It came through once...and its coming through again. Veeeeery slowly.
