I'm sorry JIT. Kids suck sometimes. Try not to stress too much. I don't know what else to say because kids suck, and I stress too much about it too.
I really appreciate your insight and sorries. I know you know all about this, since your SD is about the same age as Cute Dad's daughter. I'm extra scurred because she is a major daddy's girl, and he is wrapped around her little finger.
I'm just all
That can be good when you're getting to know her better, though. If his actions show he really likes you, she's more likely to be open to getting to know you. She'll want to make him happy. SD is the same way. If it's my idea, fuck it. Won't happen. If DH brings it up, she's all over it.
I'll remember this! We are for now "just friends" in front of his kids, which is good. I guess I'll just try to be patient with this process.
I just want everyone who matters to like me. Is that really so much to ask?
I'm trying to plan a road trip with my friend. She has basically given me free reign to do as I please, and told me the answer to everything is "yes." And on the one hand that is great, but on the other hand, I want to talk to her about it and discuss and plan so it's kind of boring that's she's all "whatever you want to do."
Also JIT, I can't even imagine how scary it's be to meet the kids in that situation. Especially older children. I'm sure over time she'll warm up to you. Kids her age can be huge jerks
Dude, for real. I was scared of little girls when I was a little girl, and I am still scared of them now. And I know they smell my fear :-S
I will remember the cat theory a la TLex for next time.
Took the kids to the mall for shoes and a baptism outfit for Charlie. Lady in the Macy's kids dept tried to convince me to sign up for some give $25 bucks to charity and get 10% off everything I buy from now until the end of the year thing. Her rationale was that if I spend $2000 on jewelry, I'll get $200 back. Um...yes, because the lady buying clothes only off the sales rack, with coupons, can afford a $2000 piece of jewelry. I didn't do it mainly because I only shop there a couple times a year, but still, how about you use an example a little more on key with who you're talking to?
I've always been scared of little girls too. I've hoped for all boys since I was old enough to think about having my own kids. When we were first dating and DH told me he had a kid I did a silent prayer of "please let it be a boy please let it be a boy" before he said her name.
Me too. DH had two girls. We had a girl. HALP! I'm drowning in drama and estrogen!
Welp...I gotta say (sorry, butting in here), this makes me feel kinda relieved that we have a boy and another one on the way.
Our house may be destroyed by them on one felt swoop....but at least we wont have all the hormones to battle with (just mine, lol)!
Little girls especially school aged ones intimidate me a bit too. They're unpredictable!

@lilygrace48 I have a coupon for $25 off your next purchase of $100 if you sign up for the program. It essentially pays for itself. I never sign up and then wish I had when I end up spending anyway. Even $10 helps. I'm actively avoiding Macy's now so I won't be using the coupons.
If anyone wants Macy's coupons let me know.
Yeah, but I probably won't shop there again before the end of the year, and certainly won't spend $100. If I had the $25 I might have though about it. Her example was just so ridiculous to me is all

I missed the OP about how it went meeting them, but I did catch a post from you (in the drinking thread last night maybe?)
@mcbenny that's insane. What's your usual commute time?
I want mums for the front steps too but H says it's silly because we already have frost overnight. He's right but I still want mums.
Dude, mums are hardy. They can handle frost.
My dad would always show up at my college apartments with "hardy mums"
to put on our front porch. Like we cared. Now, I'd really love for
someone to bring me mums.
He always referred to them as "hardy mums." It was weird.
Oh and @jesuisfatiguee let me just tell you, when I was 7 I was a serious asshole. If my parents or family member introduced me to someone new, I would do the exact same thing CD's daughter did. It never meant I didn't like the person, I just had an "whatever I'm too cool and trying to be a teenager" attitude.
Pleaseee do not take it personally. I know it is easier said than done though. I'm positive she will warm up to you.
Thank you, love. I hope y'all are right.
I have found like, 3 other things to stress about since this, so, I am doing great. lol
Great for folks who neglect their plants. Never needs water.
This is good to know. I suck at keeping plants alive but I would like to have some for my house and/or my cube at work. What are these called @chickenonsunday ?
