  • Who are these people? Granted I haven't been here since the beginning, but I haven't seen even close to half of these "regulars" before. It's freaking me out.

This side is just full of cranky, hormonal, salty, drunk, imbasals!!

Well damn. If ever there was a reason to avoid the fb group....

  • I mostly post replies and rarely make new posts. Most of my questions have been asked already so I just usually participate when others have asked. There are weekly discussions you can participate in that can help you interact more with other posters. For instance, I am AMA so I try and post to the weekly threads. Also I check into the Fit Day friday to help participate in the board. Unfortunately I have no bump to show yet but will participate in that when I can. There have been multiple threads with duplicate questions.

    @Kirinn‌
Pretty much every Friday, we get a stampede of hypersensitive "new" members (and trolls) who post something without bothering to lurk or familiarize themselves with the community. They then get extremely butt hurt about the responses they get, call us all names, and try to tell us how we are supposed to be a "support" board or some such crap.

Some crap lol? Well maybe you should listen.
Because you are new: We are not a support board. We do not shower people with rainbows and kittens. That is not what this community does. We offer advice and opinions. You don't get to dictate what that looks like.

It is genuinely disrespectful to walk into a community online or in real life and start demanding support and camaraderie without getting to know anyone or even introducing yourself. Most of the ladies on here have been around for months. It is respectful to lurk and read some posts so you get a sense of the community.
    Who made you captain?
I did...it's **my** group and I made @Eora3 a captain of the nights watch. :D
Didn't know you were Lord Commander Jeor Mormont. Apparently this John Snow does know nothing. ;)

I got the promotion last night from a newbie.

Has anyone explored the other BMB? This is just a really weird, random influx of white knighting and hyper sensitive responses lately... I think we're being punk'd. Ashton?? Where is that trucker hatted little devil?

It has gotten extremely clique-ish here lately. I have been around since the beginning but I'm starting to wonder if I even want to post anymore. I feel like I'm going to get the "you can't sit with us" look.

Is this because you didn't make the fb cut?
Nope. Just getting vibes that I'm not welcome. Maybe I'm just not sarcastic enough.
  • I enjoy getting on TB and getting my daily dose of info from mommies that are going through the same/similar things as I am. I also get a kick out of some of the things that y'all say. I really couldn't care less about being part of the Facebook group, although it would be much easier for me to access. I will continue to get on here with my fellow D14 ladies! Y'all have been my support system when my friends/family/ or even MH don't understand or get the humor that comes with being pregnant at each stage. :)

I think you are just being overly sensitive, and you were not very regular, but when fb was mentioned you were all me!me!me!
Stay and play, add your own sarcasm to the threads!
Maybe sensitivity comes with pregnancy? Who knows.... I have cried at the damn huggies commercials more than once.
  • You all are all up in arms about OP asking "personal" questions when you readily post it everywhere else. So what if she asked a question where she could find the answers in another place? So much for a "supportive" community. A lot of you are too catty for your own good. It's great you're all having children.

Good lord! What the hell is up with WKs resurrecting these threads!?

Why do all the newbs think this is a "support community"?

It is kind of strange....I mean it's not like pregnancy is some horrible disease.

When I think of support-type forums I tend to think more of like....support for people with terminal illness or terminal conditions. Or in the light of pregnancy, support for AMA, PGAL, babies with mental or congenital abnormalities, high-risk, etc. Not just your run-of-the-mill "Due in ______ month" boards.

If you need support for some specific reason, I'm all about finding support... but "when are you due/what is it/what's the name/can you give me the baby's SSN" doesn't seem like "support."

Adding the fact that the info being asked for is on the blog... READ PEOPLE!

    --quote box HIJINX--

Exactly. I'm on a PCOS support board and den mother for the monthly pregnancy board there. There are maybe 15-20 regular posters, and a lot of our discussions are around issues that moms with PCOS deal with more frequently. Along with some puppies and rainbows, but it's a different type of board.

This board is for shits and grins and sarcasm and shirtless gifs. To that end...

Right? It's sorta like having a "support" group for Libras or people adopting a dog. It's way too vague and general to be the type of group these newbies seem to want it to be. But the thing is we are very supportive and helpful... to the people that are supportive and helpful. It's just easier to help someone when you have some idea of who they are. Otherwise, it's like coming up to another random pregnant lady on the street, asking her if pee-ing blood is a big deal and then getting upset when she tells you to stop talking to her and get to the ER. "BUT YOU ARE PREGNANT TOO! WE ARE IN THIS TOGWETHER! SUPPORT MEEEE"

It would be creepy but I wouldn't underestimate the free time of internet trolls. There are just too many people lately who jump in the middle of these long threads to post their first comment ever just to white knight and then vanish into the ether.

Welcome again.   Since you are a newbie... let me give you a tip.  It might be helpful after reading OP's comment that you skip to the last page of the thread and make sure we are still on the same topic.  OP's will also provide updates/clarifications which can change the context of how you might respond.  Have a good one and welcome to the board. :)

    YUM!

I used to hate Indian food, and I still can't stand the smell of commercial curry powder. But we have a new place by our house that I love. I went to the Indian grocery to get my henna yesterday, and I wanted ALL the snacks (potato and chick pea flour, so happy and gluten free)!

  • Well I'm sorry that my having children started before a download on this APP. The whole "oh I've been on this for 6months and omg these noobs are so irritating blah blah blah" is utterly ridiculous. This is a vey much clique ish group and I can only wonder how many of you are just typically jerks in real life and enjoy spreading it around here. I thought I'd step in and call you all out on it considering you're probably the same women who watch documentaries about girls tearing each other down in school and say how revolting it is and then turn around and act like this to strangers online asking a simple question. It's also extremely hypocritical to be "creeped out" about people asking a personal question on a message board where people discuss personal info. I hope you all are better people than how you act on here.
