I'm also having husband lateness issues. He got home from a trip late last night but we have stuff to do, dammit. We're supposed to be leaving in 20 minutes and he is doing nothing on the couch and hasn't even showered. ~X(
On our way to a birthday party over an hour away. We will only be able to stay like an hour. Basically a waste of time but I'm reciprocating because they came to our party :-/
I'm jealous everyone is having fantastic weather. It's almost 10 and it's already 91.
I almost am too. But think while everyone is in a deep freeze buried in snow...we can go to the park, the zoo, and the botanical gardens. All the things we can't do on summer.
@robynloureed my aunt and cousin just flew in from Phoenix and they are freezing in Detroit at 50 degrees!
Allison made it until 1:15p without a nap today. Holy moly! As soon as put her in the car to run some errands she passed out. Now I am sitting in the car with sleeping babe while DH is in the meat market. I think I may take a nap myself.
@amparo1981 tell me more about this toddler drumming (LO loves music and has started drumming on the rock band drums)
So it's at our community arts headquarters. The guy who does it repurposed all sorts of things (empty cans, milk jugs, water cooler bottles) into toddler-friendly percussion instruments. He puts them all in the middle of the room, together with some "real" drums, etc.
Parents and kids sit in a circle around him and he sings some more or less drum-friendly songs like baby beluga, down by the bay, itsy bitsy spider. Toddlers can choose their instruments (or chew on the drumsticks, whatever works for you), he recommends an instrument for each song (shaker, tambourine....) but no pressure.
The parents usually join in enthusiastically (new parents need a bit), the toddlers sort of sporadically make some additional noise.
Highlight is the "parade", when he leads everyone who wants to around the room in a rousing rendition of "when the saints".
So if your LO loves making noise and you don't mind joining in, it's absolutely for you
This is random but.... Does anyone else get multiple phone calls a day from random numbers? I don't answer and they don't leave messages. Yesterday I got 8 from all over the US. Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Missouri... Is there a do not call list I can get on?
I told dh that I heard a mouse in thr dog food. I told him that I knew I heard something and I just saw a fucking mouse hop out of thr dog dish with a piece of food in its mouth! I don't even know what to do right now. Where the fuck is it taking the food!? I'm afraid to move thr food because I don't think I can go in the dining room without having a heart attack.
Do people who live in town have mice issues? Is it just because I live on a farm? I am buying all of the mouse poison I can find and no more dog food sitting out
When we had a mouse issue a few years ago they took dog food too. We found out where they hid it last summer. We took apart our portable dishwasher. On the insulation between the counter top and the machine was a huge stash of dog food.
Might have to bake after bedtime. For both the yumminess and the warmth in our unheated house. :-S Also I started the bottle of wine while cooking dinner and hadn't had a very big lunch. Dropped the silverware while setting the table... And my phone just now. I have become such a lightweight!
Missing you j13! Since closing on the house I've turned into remodel Tasmanian devil! Trying to get things done before we move in. Hope everyone is okay!
Just bought some shipyard pumpkin head for my first fall beer of the season. Spilled 2/3 of it and the rest was flat after the upset (

@missymr Mh came home and started a fire in the basement woodstove! I blame @butternut87 for jinxing us!
Lo hasn't been himself all day. A little glassy eyed, clingy, etc but no fever. I am sure I will regret not giving him tylenol before bed at some point tonight.
@maryannespier I shave my husbands back too mainly anytime I am in public him and he goes without a shirt. I would thank my DD for introducing Liam to cheeto puff balls...it's like crack.
Definitely jealous of the ladies with warm weather. It was literally in the 40's with a nasty rain and we had to go to a friends wedding that was outside. There were tents, but I am so cold I couldn't wait to come home and put wool socks and comfy clothes on.
In a perhaps related post to the last one, the excitement after dinner was running and sliding in sockfeet on hardwood floors. S's socks had grippers so he was frustrated. I turned them inside out and when that didn't work, held him in my arms while I slid around. Of course Alden wanted a turn. So mama got some exercise. .
Also a big hit: winter hats. Once A put it on he didn't want to take it off.
Re: It is Spamurday!!!
