I know a guy named Kai, and I like it. Not sure how I like the middle name though. Middle names are so hard! But, like other people have said, if you like it - go for it! Who cares what internet strangers think....

I'm super late to this party, BUT- other than the one Kai on NPR, all the others I've known (4 kids in my town) 3 Kai's and one Kye have all had mothers who are in/have been in jail on drug charges. Food for thought.

I got many of the same responses on my son's name, but I never felt people were being rude or mean. IMO, when someone says nms that's their polite way of giving their honest opinion. I also think she was hoping everyone would tell her how great it is.

I don't think any of the responses were bitchy or rude. I posted on the Name Board (not here), and it ended up that pretty much everyone hated both the names I was choosing between. That's fine. It's not their style. I still like the names as does my DH and we will probably choose one of them. Just means there will be less girls with that name

I just do not understand how it's considered rude to be honest....when people ask you for your opinion! Heck, I never asked anyone their opinion of Emma, but friends and family insist on telling us how they can't believe we are picking a common name and how everyone is naming their daughters Emma. Lol, but I couldn't care less about what people think....my husband and I like the name so it's the winner.....OP if you ask for opinions then you gotta take'em like a champ, good or bad.
