I'm all for it. Having been active on forums for a decade and part of many due date groups that crossed over to FB, I have no problem with it.

Like others have pointed out, guidelines/restrictions on who joins is a good way to weed out trolls and non-regulars.

Not that this is how we have to do it, but most groups I am in, especially co-ops, and infertility groups, use this - this is only an example.

I can't speak for the other 4, but I think exceptions can be made here and there. There are a number of posters who have been around since the beginning or pretty damn close to it that haven't intro'd on D14, and it's safe to say they're easily recognizable by all members of the board. Again, the rules we've come up with so far are not hard and fast, it's all still up for debate and discussion at this point

I like this idea a lot, saves everyone from a friend request and still keeps people's information private. Also allows admins to attach a username to real world email so we know who is who when adding.

Ha! I noticed that too...

I mean really, when I go to the main D14 page and I see that most recent posters on heavily commented boards are lurkers who popped out of the woodwork on here, it's going to raise flags for me

I'm with a couple of the PPs- I don't think I ever did an intro, I just kinda eased in. I'm on here several times a day but I don't post unless I feel like I'll add to the conversation or have something funny to say. This BMB has been invaluable to me as a FTM & I would be interested in joining a FB group.

Yes it would have to be whatever e-mail you're using for your FB account

@slaps, I just sent myself an invite from a group, to my junk email address which is not attached to a FB, and it went through no problem.

I'm up for joining. But this board stays active as well? Do we just discuss different things on TB and FB? Sorry obviously never done this before! Also I'm thinking comments might be more telling than posts. Maybe...

IME, the activity here would become lower, but the FB would be pretty active because it's just so much easier for people.

I have to say I've been around TB for years and have been posting here since I found out I was pregnant this time around but I'm not sure if all the admins would recognize me. I know @brittandjp‌ would know me but as for any of the other ladies I'm not sure. Hopefully that wouldn't disqualify me solely though. When will the group be started and how are we going to get added? With my other BMB we sent a PM to one of the admins and she friended us on FB to add us to the group and then you could defriend her if you wanted after being added.

I am fine ith it, but I suggest 2 groups - one for everyone, and one just for admins. There is nothing worse than seeing admins work out details in the main group

I think they are in the process of getting a google doc or using your email instead of friending

Yes, the google doc seems to be the way most people are comfortable with and the least invasive into everyone's privacy

Just would like to add that I too never formally intro'd. I've posted once and that's when I discovered TB when I was placed on mod bedrest. D14 has been an amazing group of ladies that not only have answered questions but have kept me entertained! I eased into conversations, but also mobile bump all day. The search function has worked just fine for me, hence I haven't created another post to also avoid redundancy. So please count me in! ;;)

Sorry, all! I had to eat dinner with my family. I only have a few minutes, but will be back after I put DD down for bed in about an hour.

I think that if you're recognizable by admins, you likely have a decent amount of posting. I know for me personally, I go through phases depending on how busy my week is. If we put a number on it, it wouldn't be insanely high. But if you cant post 10-20 times in a month, then you're likely not recognizable anyway. That being said, having 5 admins will really help with that. Perhaps I won't recognize you, but a couple others might.

It's very easy to see post history when looking at someone's profile here, so it will be obvious when people come out of the woodworks. They should not be upset if they're not invited because they aren't posting here anyway.

I do not think an intro post should be a requirement. There were SO many in the beginning, that some may have just decided to start posting and those people are now active posters.

I will set up the group now, admins please PM your email addresses. @JunkieBrewster, will you set up the google doc?

We can invite members by email. If you're email is on lockdown (like mine), one of us would need to friend request you and immediately unfriend.

I think a new post is fair, once all 5 of us have agreed to a set criteria for joining and have worked out all of the kinks we will make a new thread letting everyone know what the requirements are and open the group up to requests to join

I'd be interested but not sure I've been active enough to make the cut. I did an intro way back when I got my BFP and was active early on, but lost track when all the later dec EDDs started joining. Now I lurk and comment when I can, but mobile bumping sucks and it's my only option most of the time.

eta: posted too soon because mobile sucks and apparently I have fat thumbs.

Same here! Also, I didn't really start to use the board until I downloaded the mobile app and the amount I post depends on how busy I am at work.
