Who's still holding out on announcing?

We were going to take my sons picture with a sign announcing our pregnancy, but he fell, hitting right above his eyebrow and now has a little black eye! Im still set on photographing him, but now delaying it another week. By the time we get around to it I will be 15 weeks. At least family and friends only have to wait 25 more weeks for a baby. Anyone else waiting this long to announce?

Re: Who's still holding out on announcing?

  • I've told a lot of people. I'm going back and forth on a Facebook announcement. I don't think we are going to do one.

    But it's OK. Because:

  • We haven't even told our parents yet and are waiting for our NT scan on Thursday before announcing. I do have a tshirt ready for DS to wear that night. We tried to tell our family yesterday but ILs got delayed coming into town so I didn't feel like doing it then. Might as well wait a few more days at this point.

  • I'm 15 weeks now and we will publicly announce (Facebook) once we hear back on my maternity 21 test results. But we have told quite a few people and started around 13w.

  • I haven't made any type of formal announcement, but I told everyone who mattered between 12-13 weeks.
  • We told friends (via FB) tonight at 15 weeks. Family heard the news around 10 weeks. I'm glad we held out for friends; helped me feel more secure about it.
  • I am 15weeks and a  couple days and haven't told anyone other then my sister and one close friend.  I don't know what I am waiting for exactly but I am just not ready to announce yet.

  • We aren't really planning on a big announcement this time...we had a late loss last time and I just can't bring myself to make another cute big brother announcement for my son. We might post a family pic at Christmas in our new house and it'll be obvious!

  • We told immediate family, then close friends, between 8-12wks. I still have not posted to FB, but my aunts/uncles/grandma don't even know yet (they mostly find out about my life through Facebook, lol). If I do a fb announcement, I wanted to do it with a cute photo ... but now I'm nearly 15wks and it's getting akward! ;)
  • I told my boss today, and our families and friends already know, but we won't "announce" until probably 20 weeks (when we can say if it's a boy or a girl). But I'm not keeping it a secret anymore either.

  • We've only really told our family, and they've kept it quiet thankfully. We won't officially announce it until 18 weeks, little late I know but it's when we want to do it
  • My parents and our closest friends know but that's it. Nt scan is Saturday so I guess he will make am announcement after that. I just figure people can find out when they find out.

  • We're not making a grand announcement. We're telling people as it we see them, but we're not putting anything on facebook.

  • I've told my family and friends and my coworkers at this point. So pretty much everyone I want to tell already knows. However my mom came over today and took a pic with us and some pumpkins to put on fb but I want to wait at least until after my appt next Monday at 13w3d in which I'll officially be in 2nd tri. H wants to wait longer just because it's a pumpkin pic and it's not really fall here yet in Louisiana. But it's not a secret anymore if I happen to come across someone.

  • Told family at 6 weeks and announced to everyone else at 14 weeks after I heard the heart beat
  • Our parents, siblings and grandparents know, and we just started telling some other family and close friends. We are planning to tell the rest of our friends and family next weekend (I'll be turning 14 weeks then, I'm 12 weeks now). I think we will make the "big announcement" when I'm 15 or 16 weeks.
  • I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and we have only told family and a few of my close friends. DH hasn't told any friends yet. It's our first and only and I'm not sure what we are waiting on but haven't felt the need to announce yet. And honestly I dread it a bit. I'm a hairstylist and have a completely booked clientele so the thought of talking about it all day every day is not fun. It's like that anytime we travel anywhere or do anything. But they're going to find out eventually haha we will probably make it public in a couple of weeks when we go to Disney World.
  • We've told family and some friends, but not many people yet. I don't plan on making any big Facebook announcement or anything like that. We agreed to start telling people about a week ago, and H has been, but I really haven't. I'm not sure why, but I'm still feeling hesitant to be public about it. I'm 13 weeks.

We also have our NT scan on thurs! And were waiting to make sure that goes well before we tell everyone! Parents and 2 siblings have known since the very beginning but that's it
So excited to be in second trimester!!
  • I am 12 weeks and my parents are the only ones that we have told. I am potentially up for a promotion in October and I don't want to jeopardize it (even though I know it shouldn't matter). Due to this we will not be telling anyone that uses Facebook as I don't want the news getting back to my work. It really sucks because we want to tell people but we may be waiting until 18~19 weeks. I am hoping people just assume I am getting fat. There are three other pregnant women at work so maybe no one will notice me?
  • We put a little video of our daughter saying she was going to be a big sister on Facebook a few days ago. Our parents and my sister knew already. I do not like lots of attention so this way I don't have to individually tell people and deal with all the squealing and hugging.

  • I'll be 12 weeks Friday so this week we're making the calls to extended family and friends that we don't see or talk to often. All of our close friends and family already know. We will announce on fb after 13 weeks but we need to come up with an announcement.

  • We've told my parents, brother, and a few close friends who are capable of keeping secrets. I'll probably announce to work next week just because it's getting noticeable belly-wise, but I'm not sold on a FB announcement. I'm pretty sure J wants to post one (because he's already planned it out). Meh. We'll see.

  • We've told immediate family. Never made a big reveal with first pregnancy and don't plan to with this one. For those who don't see me in person or talk to me while I'm pregnant, they'll find out when they get the birth announcement.

  • I'm not super active on FB so I'm not planning on announcing there at all. Maybe right before I'm due so people don't think it was a "I didn't know I was pregnant" situation. Our immediate families know and I've told my close girlfriends and work knows. So basically if I'm your real friend and not just a FB friend you know.

  • We've finally been able to reach all family and close friends we wanted to tell personally and now we are announcing tomorrow on Facebook. I'm about 12 weeks
  • We've told most of our close family and friends. We have a few friends we want to tell in person and will probably announce on FB after the a/s.

  • We haven't announced on FB yet. Kinda waiting for NT results, but it looked healthy on the u/s so we're not actually worried... We'll get around to it soon!
  • Close friends and family know but haven't made any big announcement yet. Honestly I've just been too lazy to line all three of my dogs up to take the picture I want to make the announcement with.

  • Our families, close friends and his job (the army) know but we are waiting til after our next appt on the 1st of oct. To announce anything on fb or Instagram.
  • We've only told family and my boss.  I'm pretty set on waiting until I'm out of first tri to tell the whole entire world.  This is #2 and I'm getting anxious to tell people because I'm tired of getting the "WTF?  Prengant or fat?"  looks from everyone.

We told our parents on Sunday. We will probably wait a few weeks to announce it on social media. I am enjoying the quiet time since this is our first. :)

Most of my family, my supervisor, and a few close friends know. I'm not really sure if I'll make it fb official. The FI doesn't really want to announce it on social media. That kind of bothers me but I can see his reasons for not wanting to. I'll bring it up again to him.

We have told close friends, immediate and extended families... No Facebook posts yet. However, we just had out first appt yesterday where we were able to hear the heart beat (yay for 156!), so now knowing it's a-ok, we are going to go to an orchard and have a picture taken to announce on FB. I did post a snapshot of a bday card I received from him on Instagram that talks about our "new addition" to see if anyone notices, but I keep that very private - 60 people on there vs. the 700 on Facebook.
  • I'm 13w and we've told supervisors, close friends, and some family, we will tell DH dad tomorrow and then probably FB. I wanted to wait longer but DH is chomping at the bit.
  • We have told most of our close family and friends so far. But I'm not really feeling a Facebook/social media announcement, I love seeing them but it just doesn't feel right for us (yet). We might reconsider after 20 week anatomy scan. We will do maternity photos with our wedding photographer so we might post something then.
  • We just told our parents thi weekend (13 wks) and will start telling other people now. Not sure if we will be doing a Facebook "announcement" or not.
  • We've only told our immediate families - parents and siblings, and a very few close friends. We probably won't do a Facebook announcement until around 20 weeks, if at all.

  • We're waiting until the end of October.  I want to do a cute announcement and I want people to know how excited we are and have them be excited for us, but honestly, I'm kind of dreading the attention.  People posting shit on my Facebook wall asking how I'm doing.  Asking me if I'm drinking.  Barking orders at me for what I should/shouldn't be doing.  Telling me their horror stories.  Commenting on "how big" I'm getting.  Teasing me about being ready to pop.

I get that all of this is going to be inevitable because I won't be able to hide it, really, after October so I'm waiting until the last minute.
